Hi everyone just having a five min break from gardening . Its a yard really but a very large one as we are an end terrace. Iv got 10bags of grass and weeds as not being much of a gardener its been allowed to grow wild. Also the dog likes digging escape routes so soil everywhere.
Bearcub our house is all plaster painted. It was the cheapest option as its high ceilings.
Well back to the yard see you all later.0 -

If only!! I pride myself on being a resourceful singleton but sometimes I would just love to defer to someone much more competent!
When I was a resourceful singleton, I used my resources to pay someone to do the painting for meNow keeping OH has stretched the resources a bit thinner so its only right he uses his skills to do the work. To be honest though, I think I used to pay my painter chap an awful lot less than it costs to keep OH in biscuits :rotfl:
Our planned division of labour is similar to Aleceiffel's - he'll do all the keeping-house and keeping-house-nice duties and I'll go out to earn the money to pay for it. Its just that in the short term (which keeps getting longer!) the building project is so big that OH can't spare the time to do the general "house-wifely" duties. And I can't be bothered0 -
Oouff I'm knackered. The box room of doom is half painted but needs another coat so I might get that finished tomorrow if I crack on. The good news is that I have sorted all the carp out, and have it bagged up as CS, give to friends/family/chuck out/keep for crafting.
All that remains is to get the room done, and then put up shelves and move all my linens and stuff back in. Whew!
After that I will be attempting the spare room of doom, same deal but put back together as a bedroom instead of a junk heap.
And after that, I WILL finish painting my bedroom!!I believe in the freedom of spinach and the right to arm bears.

Well today I continued in the same vein as yesterday, actually getting off my bum and demessing, not just reading about other folks doing it.
I managed:
2 loads WM
Both now dry
DW emptied, reloaded and set to run over night
WM loaded and set to run over night, nearly didn't do this but I knew I'd feel better about reporting to you guys that it was done
More admin
Tomorrows porridge soaking
Tomorrows dinner taken out of the freezer to defrost
All bins emptied
Fridge cleaned inside
Various other bits done, none of which has the same impact as the work I did on the hall yesterday. It felt brilliant coming down this morning to a tidy hall, wonder how long it will last once OH is back from work (he works away from home in the week) or if he will even notice.
Not sure how much I'll acheive on Thursday as I've a few non demessing things planned, but I would still like to get a few things done. I don't know what has happened to me, this is very out of character.Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent

tatabubbly meant to say congratulations on your new job in my last post.
I finally finished the yard and it looks neat and tidy.DS even commented on it and said Id worked too hard. We eventually took out 14 bags.
JPS Iv got the spare room in my sights and like yours its a dumping ground. Iwill tackle it this week now all my dd clutter has gone to charity.0 -
Morning everyone, thanks for the welcomes. I've just noticed how many posts there actually are on this thread so perhaps I wont manage to read it all.
So in at the deep end it isOver the last couple of weeks we have managed to combat our bedroom and the living room in terms of keeping them de-cluttered. The reason for my long day yesterday (and the same today) is that I work shifts on a 3 week rota of 8-4.15, 9-5.15 and 11.45-8 with 2 out of 3 saturdays either 9-4 or 9-1!! I think that contributes to the mess.
So todays tasks before work are to wash last nights dishes, run the hoover round downstairs and get myself to work on time. My mum should be dropping off the carpet cleaner later too so will be able to get that done in the morning.
Onwards and upwards hey!
