Have you thought of any jobs yet? :D

    er....well.....um......

    no :o:o:o:o:rotfl:

BUT I threw out an old top and hung a few things up in the wardrobe! I only seem to be able to do things for about 2 minutes these days before giving up....:( Still, if I keep going like that my bedroom should be finished in.....oooh, say, a month?:rotfl:

How are you getting on today? :)

eta door just went, parcel postie! Unfortunately I had a big mouthful of pizza with no time to swallow it so I had to spit it out in a panic :rotfl:

:rotfl:I hope you didn't spit it at him.

Well done, least you have done something :j

I'm not too good today. I think doing the lawns yesterday was too much to soon. But at least they aren't embarrassing now :D

I really need to motivate myself to do the kitchen. It isn't fair to leave it for my husband. He has the washing and everything else to try to do as well as working 60 hours a week.

I am going to set up that box for the kids. I have decided if they leave something they wouldn't want back then I will swap it for something they would, cruel aren't I? :p

    Afternoon Messies!

Well done for all yesterday's activity, Scarlet Raven. Try not to worry too much that you're not feeling so bright today, but try and make yourself do a couple of tasks. Otherwise, you may start to believe you can't do anything and, with that, you'll find yourself going backwards. At least make an effort to keep yourself on the same spot! ;)

Come on, Soworried and Cat! You can do it, too!
Shoving a load of laundry into the machine made me feel like I was doing something. But because I hadn't taken the already clean stuff off the airer and I hadn't put away the stuff that I took off the airer to make room for that all I was doing was making a mess. Then I read that laundry (like cooking) is a process - wearing, sorting, washing, drying and putting away. Talk about a lightbulb moment!

Very technical perspective, alec. Isn't it odd how we all see things in a different light? To me that would have all been obvious, although things do go a bit awry when I've had washing outside, assuming it would dry, then it rains, and I already have an airer full of washing. Difficult situation when you have very limited space.

As for cooking, I'm not sure I could do a roast dinner anymore. I could do all the actual cooking, but it's so long since I cooked a meal, that my timing would be dreadful. Our DD2 is a veggie, so OH and I long ago got used to veggie meals, and have at least two a week, even though DD left home nearly 10 years ago.

Nah, Dan Snow does nothing for me, nice enough young man though he is.

think we have a very bad case of end of term itis in this house.
managed to do the midnight moo walk on saturday, got in to bed at 5am Sunday, slept until 10:30 got up to find house a complete tip and a note to say HWTHMBO & DS1+2 had gone out for a ride on their bikes...
they arrived back just as I'd finished tidying the [STRIKE]bombsite[/STRIKE] kitchen and made myself a cup of tea.
HWTHMBO looked very sheepish when I told him what I'd come down to and apologised but then meandered off into the 'office' (bit of the dining room where his 'puter is) and sat down. So i stood over him and told him the rest of the jobs that needed doing NOW before he got settled doing anything else.
Scuttled back to bed at 2 (GQT donchano) and fell asleep until 5ish, got up, came downstairs and was immediately assailed with "what's for tea?" by DS#2...luckily (for everyone as I was in no fit state to do anything) HWTHMBO jumped up and practically ran into the kitchen to start their tea, he was pretty good and got them showered and into bed after their tea.
after they'd gone to bed at 7.30 I made myself some dinner and curled up on the sofa to watch 2 broke girls and Countryfile, and promptly fell asleep.
hmm what else.... not really had any energy to do anything but did little bits yesterday by using So Worried'd do something each hour. I was so proud I managed to do Mr T's shop, browse in John Lewis (got voucher) for digital radio (narrowed it down to 2), and spend £5 newspaper MOC in cycle shop, in between collecting DS#1 from school and DS#2 from after school club.
Had a call from greyhoud rescue people last night they've told us that the dogs are not available for 4 weeks!!! OH NO! I REALLY NEEDED them to come to ours over the school holidays so they'd be settled by the time school goes back but now they're not coming until after our holibobs at the end of august! DS#2 is gutted he wanted the dogs over the summer too. apparently they don't actually have any dogs they can give us right now (No, I have no idea what's happening to all the dogs are being advertised as needing homes on their wesbite either)
managed to skip out DS#1 room before school run this AM and finished off DS#2 room after i got back.
right better go as DS#2's school have an event this afternoon and I'll miss it if I don't go now.
    Keep up the good work.

just in case you need to know:
HWTHMBO - He Who Thinks He Must Be Obeyed (gained a promotion, we got Civil Partnered Thank you Steinfeld and Keidan)
    DS#1 - my twenty-five-year old son
DS#2 - my twenty -one son

Well, yeah, it is obvious but when I was at the bottom it wasn't obvious at all, there seemed to be no way to get on top of anything so seeing it written down helped me to access the "can do" bit of my brain!

I can understand that, Alec, it wasn't in any way a criticism, just an observation. <hugs>

Kitty, wonderful to see you in here again, but such sad news. It's so hard to lose something or someone who's been a huge part of your life. <Hugs> to you, too, hunnybun.

FA, maybe you need to 'have a word' with the Trust. To say that they have two dogs needing rehoming, then to change their minds, without giving you a proper explanation, is way out of order! That sort of thing does a charity's image no good at all.

After yesterday's glorious weather, it's drizzly and very windy today, which has killed the good mood I was in. Not that I'm down, but this miserable weather makes me feel so tired. I've put away the washing-up, and mopped up the water on the hob - OH had put some frozen damsons in a saucepan to defrost, ready for cooking, and condensation had poured down the sides - huge puddle! Also put away the washing that had dried - not enough of it, really. However, I must finish DD2's bf's birthday card today, so I can post it tomorrow.

I didn't take it as a criticism, I know I just missed the lesson where everyone else learned how to do things in a sensible and methodical way!

    Sorry for your loss kitty.

That's ok, then, Alec. As you say, sometimes when we're at the bottom it's hard to see a way up to the top, or past a barrier! Been there, done that.
