Emm if you hear hissing and strange snake language coming from your Heaps of Doom at least you know what it is......

Welcome home Cat, and I hope that your home didn't look too bad to you when you walked in the front door. I was a bit concerned when I heard about the floods, but thought it wasn't too near the area you'd be in.0 -
Thank you for the warm welcome. I'm so glad I found this thread.
Bedding washed and hung out to dry, washing up done, bedroom windows washed, one curtain ironed and rehung. Just having a cuppa break before I go back to the ironing.
Could somebody direct me to the Grabbit board steam mop please? Who knows what I might acheive when suitably armed?

I'm back for a quick break for OH gets home and guess what - I've already fallen off the wagon. The ironing I intended doing after my last break is still waiting; the bed isn't made; the vacuum still sits waiting for me to give the mattress a going over. So what went wrong.
I decided to hunt out the sander to attack a table I've been promising to shabby. After a brief search, found two sanders and both are knackered. Thanks OH. And he'll deny all knowledge. So, phoned a friend and borrowed sander but then remembered I wanted a turnip for tea so went to allotment taking some cauli seedlings with me. Planted cauli, collected three turnips and then filled a margarine tub with blackcurrants and collected some raspberries, a couple of strawberries that have evaded the slugs and snails and a couple of goosegobs. Returned home and soaked the raspberries coz I don't want any extra protein with them, prepped the veg and put chicken in to roast. I even found some solidified garlic granules and scraped some into a blob of butter with some chilli flakes to coat the chicken. OH will be amazed. Was going to make some blackcurrant muffins but I'm pooped. Does anybody have any better suggestions for them?0 -
HI!! Just got home from pub. I gave `Mine Hosts` a Bee Hotel, (I really am on one about Bees) and it was received with enthusiasm after I`d spouted about mine for last few weeks.... need to spread the word for Bees. Had a lovely evening, now going to cook for tonight & tomorrow night, and make a small fire as it`s got a bit nippy...then watch Volcano stuff on I-player.
CAT - WELCOME HOME - and THANKYOU x zillions, yet again, for the pong info! Glad to have you `home` again here, look forward to your posts.
Sonastin & Gillybean - chill. Procrastinate. Whatever - it`ll get done sometime. Hang in here for the next wind of inspiration to lift your wings and then go for it.
Possession - if I there`s any hissing in my bedroom the sound would be drowned out by my dear old Daftie-dog`s Loud Snores, and Thunderous clumping around noises when she gets up and lies down again. Next-door must wonder sometimes...
drags self off to thaw prawns & chop coriander...0 -
I'm in agony, I've always had a bad back although no problems recently. Went in the kitchen to cook my tea and made a quiche for lunch tomorrow and I'm just about doubled over, had to get a chair to sit on to finish what I was making0

Thank you, Lily.
A bee hotel? I have visions of bees with little suitcases booking in for a weekend break. Somebody enlighten me, please0 -
Your dog sounds a poppet, Emms, she really does.
I have a bee hotel that DD1 gave me the first spring we were here. It got put up in what I now recognise as a completely inappropriate place, and was best part forgotten about. Next time I wade across the lawn, I'll rescue it and clean it up, then find somewhere more suitable for it. 0 -
Quickie re bee hotel for Buttercup - it`s like a nest-box but full of bamboo tubes. Nest-sites for solitary bees. Try googling `solitary bees uk` or mason bees. OH huffing, must go xx0

Emm and bearcub - thank you for the warm welcome and words of encouragement

Not done as much as I'd have liked today, but I'm not going to beat myself up about it like I usually would, as I did spend a good couple of hours making a dinner (dhal, spiced rice and chapattis) all from scratch, including dessert (individual apple crumbles)
Little jobs that got done today - big load of white washing, dishes from night before put away, all the rest washed.
I also managed to find my page-a-day diary that I used to use for getting chores etc done, so my to-do lists will be going in there again, nothing too much so I don't get beat up about doing certain things, baby steps like everyone is recommending

Good morning everybody. Hope you all have a good day, whether you're grafting or chilling. Is anybody superstitious?
I'd like to use it as an excuse but in honesty the date doesn't bother me. I'm going to go into Asda today to see if the steam mop offer is in store as well and get some storage boxes for STUFF. I also need a few bits of shopping but I have a list. My life revolves around lists; I'm almost at the stage to make a list of my lists but then I misplace them. Today I have a cunning plan; the list will be put in my purse until I'm in store. Just have to check if there is anything else OH hasn't put on the list because he didn't know it was the last one, or almost finished something.
ScarletRaven - you're up late, or very early!0
