Well I've done s@d all today, parents popped over this morning and bought with them a V pillow as my back is killing me. OH went to work at half one and I've been tucked up on the sofa watching telly since with two snoring dogs.

Messies, I have a confession to make.

There is so much carp piled on my bed that this morning I woke up with a nail file in my knickers. Yes, the ones I was wearing. No, I'm not quite sure how it happened. I was asleep at the time.

My bedroom has become the house dumping ground again, and I need to do something about it :o

 :rotfl: Well, the first question that came to mind was "How?", but we're obviously never going to find that out! I admire you for admitting it, though.

Gillybean, at your stage of pregnancy, I think you're entitled to not do anything very much - the last month is exhausting.

Snookey, it's very odd, isn't it, that some people can't seem to see what we see as obvious, especially reduced groceries?

I did manage to wash the kitchen and bathroom floors this afternoon, after having a cuppa with Mum and, between showers, got out to the garden to cut a few flowers.

Laurel what have you been filing!!!!?

Iv moved my backside and cleared 16 bags!!!! Yes 16 bags of rubbish. from the cellar. Iv had things stored down there and due to the damp its ruined so out its gone.Have to get rid of cardboard and furniture next and then its clear.
Feel sorry for our bin men, lol.
    Gillybean rest and rest.
Bearcub yes its really an eye opener when people dont see the bargains that we do.

I haven't managed the recycling yet but the kitchen is lovely and tidy and I've got a batch of chocolate brownies in the oven. Not quite de-messying but satisfying anyway. Living room doesn't look too bad - OH has taken all the building control drawings and text books into the building site side of the house so that looks much better.

All in all, I think I've got through the worst of the messy crisis without having to do too much. Weekend is going to need proper attack though!

16 bags?! Now, that's impressive - the amount you've collected, and that you've cleared it out.

Thanks Bearcub. To be honest it was stuff that I was doing a carboot with but the damp in the cellar ruined most of it. Iv been saying for ages I was going to clear it out but it was such a moutain of stuff that I kept putting it off.. Im just thankfull Iv started. Iv salvaged some things and Ill donate them to charity as I can not see me doing a carboot in the near future.
Having started cleaning Iv just finished the kitchen. Another load of animal hair picked up. Hall and livingroom cleaned. Couple of loads of laundry done.
Come tommorrow I can concentrate on clearing more junk from the house.
    Night night everyone.

    Morning
Well done snookey, 16 bags :j

Sonastin, well done for doing the kitchen and brownies :T

Bearcub, well done on doing the floors :)

Laurel, :rotfl: Make sure you clear that bed today, even if it just putting it on to the floor. You might hurt yourself on something.

1st hour today I have moved cups from the front room in to the kitchen.

2nd hour, opened bedroom curtains, made bed and put dirty clothes in the laundry basket.

    3rd hour, recycling done.

4th hour, hall, frontroom and kitchen floors swept.

5th hour, half the dishes done.

6th hour, other half of the dishes done.

7th hour, work tops cleared and wiped, hob wiped down also.

8th hour, Prepared dinner and washed off muddy wellies.

I made it, not as much done as the other days but still managed to something each hour :)

    Hi everyone,

I subscribe to the weekly simplicity tips here:

    http://www.mysimplerlife.com/blog/

    and today I got this...

In our time class yesterday one of the things we talked about was checking in with the bigger picture when you do your work.
Often we procrastinate, get off task or start something new because we haven’t set ourselves up for the work.
In order to get motivated, it helps to think of why you are doing this task. When we come to a task as this is something I should do or I have no choice in doing, it saps our motivation.
When you "have to" do dishes, they may spend the night in the sink. But, what if before you started you thought of the bright, sparkly kitchen? Or clean bowls for breakfast? Or not having to clean stuck on dishes? We don’t clean because we have to. We clean because of what we want the house to feel like.
How about a task your boss gives you that you really don’t want to do. How will that task help the company? Or what character traits can you enhance in yourself by doing the work? Who are you helping with this task?
When you are pulling weeds, what are you really doing? Making a place beautiful or making room for fresh vegetables to grow.

If you are stuck in the "I don’t wannas" today, look to the big picture, see your choice, and find the purpose.

it was very motivational & inspirational to me, so i thought I would share it with you all.

I'm out 'teaching' today, we're taking the horticulture lads over to an old people's home to tidy up their gardens. so no demessying for me today.

Although I have managed to clear the airers of all the dry washing, put away my stuff and divvy up everyone else's for them to put away (I even think DS#2 has put his clothes away cuz his basket is back on the landing). and put the recycling in the recycling bin and loaded the dishwasher with this morning's stuff.

    catch ya later, purtaters

    Hi Messies!
I`ve just re-read the last few pages - you really are an amazing bunch, it really helps so much reading your posts - they are ALL motivational, and comforting. The posts that tell of folks doing a load of stuff, when these folks are self-confessed Messies, are inspiring because they give the feeling that if you can do it so can I...eventually. The posts that tell of folks just doing a bit but at least doing something, fighting off the total inertia thing - or despite having little time for the tasks, they are encouraging too. And the posts where folks admit to getting nothing done, they are comforting in another way, the fact that we can post these things without fear of being judged because others here DO understand.
I LOVE you ALL, thankyou for keeping me sanexx

I`ve just done 2 long days at work. I`m not here to do anything more than make supper, eat it then sleep. Today, after a much needed lie-in, I came downstairs for a coffee, intending to put pots to soak then leap in the shower, then put WM on & nip out to farmshop.
    That was Plan A.
I discovered that when downstairs loo is flushed, the drain outside back door overflows nasty muddy-looking goo. AND overnight, DS has brought a stack of dirty dishes (?how many days` worth?)out of his room and left them in the kitchen sink.
    Plan B, therefore, was necessary...
Phoned the water company, who passed on my details to their sludge-gulper contractors, then the latter phoned me to confirm details etc. They will have a crew here within 4 hours, it was around mid-day by that time, so there`s time yet.
Meanwhile, can`t shower (hair hanging in rat-tails) can`t do dishes, can`t go shopping in this state but have to be here anyway in case they phone
(they ring to say they are on the way). Can`t take Henry to start cleaning bedrooms (very hairy now) in case I don`t hear the phone.
So I`ve come on here for a good moan....
I shall take a chisel to the freezer in the hall, the lid isn`t closed properly because there`s icebergs round the top.
I`ll be back later, if I don`t have frost-bit & can still type.
Have a nice afternoon all xx
