I didn't get much done today. It has done nothing but rain here :(

I did get the oven cleaned though for the first time in months :)

That IS 'much', soworried! :) Miserable weather really doesn't help, does it? I don't find it makes me feel low, just really tired, as if I'm going into hibernation. That's fine in the winter, but in July??!!

I think some one forgot to tell mother nature that it is summer.
I haven't had the best of days today so I am pleased that I did anything really. I'm about to go shopping as well so that will be another thing :)

I woke up very early so I de-messied my bedroom, it's the one room that gets horrendous without me really noticing.
Bin emptied, bits of rubbish picked up and bin bagged, toiletries tidied. Books put off floor and onto shelves, yet another pile sorted out for friend's CB Sale. I also put the heaviest winter woollies properly away, I live quite far north so have some very heavy woollies.
My son had de -messied the fridge, which was good of him.

I also bought a tiny little see through box in Rym*n's to store my spare earring backs, bought a pack of these from Primarni - very useful - but have nothing to keep them in and they will soon get lost.

Well done to Soworried. I haven't cleaned my oven in ages, top is cleaned regularly though. Snag is, if I get on the floor to do it, I can't get up easily. (Arthritis). Last time I was on the kitchen floor was to clean the washing machine filter. Big mistake, though filter was minging. I had to crawl out into the hallway and up the stairs to be able to get to my feet. Floors are vinyl on cement and laminate, so it was extremely painful.

    To those struggling hugs.

Iv cleaned the kitchen and family room today and did some laundry. Feeling really odd today. I have had bunged up ears all week and today I felt dizzy with a headache. Feeling a bit better now.
Got a new collar for the dog today. Its one that gives him a vibration if he barks for too long. Also remote control so we can stop other unwanted behaviours. Seems cruel but he has done nothing but bark of late and even after a nice long run in the park. Its a lesser of two evils as its not fair to our neighbours who have twin toddlers to be disturbed by his barking.
Yorkshire lass maybe getting your son to write his feelings down to show the doctor may help. It cant be easy for either of you. Hugs.
Mcculloch well done for sorting your room.
Bearcub the weather people say that we will have a summer in two weeks. Lets all keep our fingers crossed.

Thanks Snookey. I do hope we get a summer in 2 weeks as that's when I go on holiday for a few days.
I think that you are a really responsible dog owner, Snookey, I do hope for everyone's sake that the collar modifies his behaviour.
When we were first married 36 years ago, I worked full time, with one day off midweek every other week.
The fact that I can still remember that the neighbour's dog barked all day in the week when left alone tells you something given that I heard it 1 day in 10.
It really does drive you demented to hear it.

Well done Snookey and Mcculloch :j

I've been awake for hours due to a really heavy thunder storm. Doesn't seem likley that I will get in to the garden today even if I could bring myself to.

I have cleaned the kitchen floor though :) It was in a terrible state, it needed neat bleach behind the fridge freezer and things. :o

The rest of the house is still really bad so I might just stay in the kitchen :rotfl:

I hope everyone is feeling good today x

For those who have just cleaned their ovens, if you can afford it buy a heavy duty silicone oven liner like this:
    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/X-Large-Silicone-Baking-Sheet-Work-Mat-Oven-Tray-Liner-Work-Top-Protector-/300671891541?pt=UK_HomeGarden_Kitchen_Cookware_GL&var=&hash=item460170f855
Then all you need to do is take it out and wash it up occasionally - it covers the entire bottom and part way up the sides.

I don't think it is cruel - doesn't actually hurt the dog. OH suggested one to some friends when their teenage son was doing a little bit too much answering back :rotfl:

Our house is possibly in its worst state of messiness for ages today. I forgot to buy dishwasher tabs on the way home yesterday, the dishwasher was almost ready to go on and dinner was one of those "use every pot in the cupboard" meals  I ended up washing up at midnight to a) clear enough worktop to be able to make breakfast and pack-ups this morning and b) make sure OH had enough clean mugs to generate his daily mug mountain! So there's dirty pots over half the kitchen, clean pots stacked up precariously on the draining board and stuff going in and out of the dishwasher more often than the hokey cokey :D

Combined with laundry every where because of the weather, OH meeting building control today so all the building plans and text books all over the lounge and a general CBA on my part. Our "nearly there now" tidy home has descended once more into utter and abject chaos! At least its nearly weekend so hopefully I'll be able to make a dent in it over the next couple of days ;)

All its doing in the northwest is raining. We are lucky in that we are on a hill but I feel sorry for those who have a risk of flooding.
Off to the dentist with dd in a bit. Hoping its the last time for a while. Teeth being pulled under laughing gas.
Ill catch up later with everyone. Take care .

We collected our two boys from university last Saturday. Having seen the state of the house I now know my house is not as messy as I thought it was. As I was stuck there while dh moved my eldest and four other students into their new house, I did some cleaning. Six hours later and it still wasn't clean. To be fair it didn't take too long to clean my son's room but the kitchen and bathrooms were minging. The others who he shared with were supposed to be doing their bit of cleaning when they come back after visiting home. I hope they do or my son will lose his deposit and I will not be best pleased as I cleaned some of the communal areas the others were responsible for.

As for my house, it has taken all week to get to the bottom of the mountain of washing my boys brought home. I don't think they have done any washing for weeks! To be fair my eldest had nowhere to dry his but the youngest was just metres away from the laundrette. Unfortunately I was already behind with the washing because we had builders in the week before they came home and I couldn't use the washing line.

There seemed to be loads of towels and it turned out the youngest ran out of clean towels. Rather than go a few metres to the laundrette he walked 10 minutes to Wilkinsons and bought another one. There must be some male logic there somewhere.:rotfl:As for his flannels, I threw them away.
