aargh had a post written and it's been swallowed up

ok - memory test!:D
soworried, nice one! You've done really well, it's good that you gave yourself a reward
Isis glad you got your dishwasher
Love the photo bearcub!
Emm, thanks, I'm really looking forward to it
I don't think I'll be quite as miserable about coming home this time. I love it so much and used to cry on and off for weeks when I came home but that stopped after DD1's gf died. This time, I think I might be better still
I've hoovered the LR/hall/kitchen, just want to give the bathroom and kitchen a wipe over now and mop the floors. Oh, and I suppose I really should pack too....:rotfl:
I'll probably check in tomorrow morning before we go but if I don't get a chance, hope everyone has a great week, enjoy yourselves whatever you're doing, and I'll see you soon!

Have a lovely, lovely time, Cat. Just remember, there's a re-organised home, and a 'being re-organised' you, too. Enjoy!

Well done, SoWorried. Don't be hard on yourself, or expect everything to get better overnight. It's nearly four years since I was in hospital-and though things are MASSIVELY better, I'm not straightened out yet!! When I was...well...I suppose that little bit past severely depressed when finding a notepad AND pencil didn't seem like an insurmountably difficult problem, I used to write down all I did. And cleaning my teeth *definitely* counted as an achievement xx
Fingers crossed, Emm-hope the collar helps!
Cat-it is lovely to have one perfect room. Shame it shows up the rest of the house......and, oh boy, does it make the rest of the carpets look shabby
. Rome wasn't built in a day...but I honestly feel that by the time I've painted everything, it will be time to start again...:o
Isis-you must be near me (ish). I've been out to see the torch tonight-it was so exciting
Love the pictures, bearcub!import this0 -
Evening.
The torch is in my town tomorrow but I haven't the energy to go and see it and also I'm struggling to get behind the steering wheel lol
I set myself three tasks to do today and I have done them, I know it doesn't sound much but I've
Done the ironing
Packed hospital bag
Repaired clothes with holes in and took some frilly bits off a top that was making me not want to wear it and shortened the straps
Tomorrow I'm making home made custard creams for a baking competition0 -
Sonastin, your OH could continue the work any time after August, as all birds should have finished nesting by then - that is, of course, if he's available to do the work then.
Not sure what OH has planned after August - at the moment he's making fantastic progress on the lounge so could be free to go back to the garage. I think he thinks he can wind me up by not quite finishing any job - fascias on the garage, a "pillar" covering the corner where the kitchen cupboards turn, etc - but he doesn't realise that I grew up in a house that was *never* finished. My dad firmly believed that DIY was finished once the room was useable again - no need to make it look pretty too :rotfl: Its rubbed off on me too so I can put up with any degree of half finished work. Or even completely messy if needs be :T
Cat - hope you have an awesome holiday. You've certainly earned it with the recent de-messying. If you wouldn't mind leaving behind some of that inspiration for the rest of us while you're away?0 -
Soworried welcome. Im sure you will find that baby steps will turn into big steps eventually . We are all in the same boat with housework.
My oh went to the gp yesterday and found that our old one was being a stand in. Anyway she could not work the printer and oh had to show her. Eventually a blood test form was printed and the gp told oh to ask the reception to fill it in. The receptionist burst out laughing when she saw the form as it was for the childrens hospital . The gp was called out and nearly wet her self laughing. Oh said to them the sad thing is I would have gone as Id have been sure the gp wasnt wrong. Bear in mind he is a 44year old man.
Dont know who is more scatty him or the gp.
The birds are so cute.
Iv done zilch maybe the shock of cleaning Sunday has still not worn off.
Take care everyone.0 -
Welcome Soworried, such GOOD advice from everyone. Bless you all.
Whilst we are on about messy gardens most of mine is OK-ish apart from the expletive bindweed ATM but what a downer that weed is. I have killed some of it though. Bayer 3 hour killer.
Plus I paid a young lad who does jobs for me from time to time to paint my trike ramp (it gets the trike up a 7'' raised threshold) and clear the area under the fence.
He never did clear the weeds. He's had a few hundred off me for different jobs, but that's it. The lads next door will do it for less anyway. I'm going to spray most of the fence area with weedkiller as soon as we have a calm, rain-free day (That'll be September, then, I expect..)
Big messy news is that I filed my tax return online.
This was mental messiness, I was waking every morning thinking about it, and still not doing it.
I've done them lots of times now, nothing to worry about except it being very legal and binding figures. Cough...
Who needs accountants?
Though I did need the Which Tax Guide I got given free by Amazon Vine.
My cleaner also left today with a large bag of books - just as well as I ordered lots free from Amazon Vine! Oh well.
Book I was really looking forward to arriving (Spirit of Punchbowl Farm from Girls Gone By) is delayed. Going to look on publisher's website for any further info.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -
I hope you have a lovely holiday Cat :j
Well done Gillybean, that is a lot in one day :T
I'm setting myself a target to be dressed properly by 10am, sounds pathetic I know but that will be a big improvement on the last few months.
Just an update that I am all dressed and it is only 9.40 am

Thanks soworried and sonastin

mcculloch well done on getting your tax return done, must be a hassle, I even hate doing my CTC and all that is is signing and dating!
Gillybean - not much??? You've done your ironing! That's my next project when the decluttering is finished and it'll probably take longer
Wash your mouth out soworried, we don't use language like pat***ic in here!;) It's a great target to have
God it wasn't until about a month ago that I started getting out of bed before midday let alone dressed!!:o
Well I'm showered, breakfasted, packed (in a very random, haphazard way, apart from my make up), leaving about half 9 for the looooong drive! See you, messies
xx
eta I've never heard of Amazon Vine, that'll need to be investigated when I get back!!0 -
Sorry Cat, I did not mean to belittle it
