I thought this pic might make some of you smile. They're nesting at the far end of the stable block.

Oh they're soooo sweet! OH is being punished for not finishing off the fascias on the back of the garage in the winter - the starlings found a way in and are now happily nested in the eaves. He now can't finish the job until next winter, when he'll probably have to take down the bits where they've nested and pooped all over the place too!
Soworried - see, we all knew you could do it even if you didn't have the faith in yourself. :T0 -
Bearcub that picture is so good. My mam has a nest in her garden with a camera inside

Thank you, both. I hope it picked you up a bit, soworried. So, does your mam have swallows, too?
Sonastin, your OH could continue the work any time after August, as all birds should have finished nesting by then - that is, of course, if he's available to do the work then.
I've been taking pics since the parents started picking the nest site and, until I looked at the pics when I got home today, we thought there were only three chicks. It looks as if the second in from the left is less developed than the others, so it's done well to survive.0 -
I am not sure what they are, they are very small and come back every year.£36/£240

They're not swallows, then, soworried, if they're very small. Blue tits, maybe. Or wrens. Don't worry about it, unless you'd like to make it a small 'project' to find out.
Great news, Isis! That'll help so much, won't it? And the torch has come your way - great!

The torch is coming quite close to us, too. It's coming over to the west of the island, then travelling to the centre, then back to the mainland - and we're in the west, quite close to where it'll 'land'.0
