Hi Isis
I'm glad you've got a "diagnosis" so to speak. CFS is so debilitating and painful, but you must be relieved in a way?
Your DH sounds like a star, can I borrow him?:p
Let us know how you get on with the dishwasher - is it life-changing??
With your health problems I'm sure it will be a godsend for you
I'm swithering now about whether to get one or not but I know it's only because it's just me and DS here at the moment and it's reasonably easy to keep on top of, when and if there are 4 of us again I'll be desperate for one
Cheers Hun :-)
Used to have a slimline dishwasher till it gave up and we just dent get round to replacing it, funds being the main problem. I'm quite sure it will again be a godsend and will make a huge difference as won't have pots piling up on the worktop till someone gets the cove to do them.
For me the hardest thing ATM is considering my position at uni, I recently had to miss 5 exams due to being bad so I still ave them to sit in September but I also have another 3 that I failed in January. My concern is coping as I've found this current year has been extremely are to cope and deal with. I will have to think over the summer, I may ask if I can sit out for a year then repea ar 2 before going into year 3 that is of course if they will let me (I get a sneaky suspicion they won't )
Today I was managing to clean a bit of the kitchen , the ca litter tray also needed doing so of course emptied that to find I had no more cat litter so off I pop to tesco across the road to kill myself trying to carry a bag of cat litter. I of course get back home to find there was a bag of cat litter still to use but it was hidden in a place I could swear I had checked lol. Well had to have a break before I took on the challenge of finishing the litter tray :-s
Did also manage to refresh all the bird feeders as we have a very greedy family of house sparrows lol think they've given up searching for food elsewhere and just sit in the hedge going backwards and forwards to the house for some fat ball lol but they're so adorable :-).
Oh the joy of shopping tomorrow, god help me if I loose my car if I leave uni :-sI love War Of The Worlds:heart2:

I sympathise with this issue so much. Our bedroom looks awful all the time - just a general dumping ground. I'm aware that there is a routine or a chain of progress with Laundry but, in our house, there seems to be so many obstacles in the way, it never gets followed through.
it did look nice just after Christmas when we decorated it but as soon as we've got it tidy and looking nice it goes ack to being a pit again :-s xxI love War Of The Worlds:heart2:

Hi Messies!!
Just a quickie tonight cos i really need to see my pillow!!
Weather still crappy so no washing out today, whizzed round our bedroom with the duster this afternoon then made roast chicken for supper. Mr farmer is working two jobs at the moment cos his brother has had an op on his eye and can't see so i thought he deserved a big supper (before he fell asleep on the sofa!!)
xxIt's a farmers life for me......:j0 -
I need to be in bed. Have hoovered and mopped kitchen, utility and downstairs loo. Gave the worktops a proper clean and made shepherds pie for tea. Spent a good part of the afternoon doing paperwork then popped into town for a few bits of shopping, rushed back and took DS2 to cricket practice. Picked him up then went to a meeting so didnt get home again until nearly 10.
This is kind of how it is at the moment, seemingly lots of rushing here and there. Have an appointment tomorrow morning so I need to be up and on. Must get to bed, hope everyone is OK x0 -
Had a productive evening last night.
My friend cam and cut back some bushes in my front garden for me. I had a strange man creeping around my front garden Tues night and it really scared me so I had them cut back so they can't be used for cover! Added worry lady 3 roads away had her husky stolen yesterday. I think I have put 2 & 2 together & made 5 but my 2 are now on lockdown I'm not taking them for a walk on my own for the next week or so to be on the safe side
I scrubbed the top end of my kitchen, chucked drain cleaner down the sink, did a load of washing but the seal on the washing machine has been damaged so I had to put a bucket in front to use it  I got rid of a load of crap, folded up a weeks worth of washing (put that in the spare room to deal with another day though
).
My friend is coming back today for me to do a few heavier jobs like carpet cleaning ect so between us we should get it all sorted for my mum coming down :T:beer:First Date 08/11/2008, Moved In Together 01/06/2009, Engaged 01/01/10, Wedding Day 27/04/2013, Baby Moshie due 29/06/2019 :T0 -
Well done on all your hard work everyone esp Faith, machairs, YL, FW and Isis!!:T
Emm, I'm relieved you still like the pong:rotfl:
Isis, I hope they do let you take a year out, why don't you think they'll let you? I'll be very angry if they don't, it would be so unfair!
Not a lot done so far, took out loads of paper recycling, went to DWP to get a pre-paid envelope for DDs EMA thing and posted it, went to Tesco and bought a new ironing board cover (I think I shrunk the old one in the wash:o) and an 8-way multi-socket , should be able to get all the computer peripherals plugged into the one place now! 4 Brits playing at Wimbledon today so I don't think I'll get much else done. But I'm finding these couple of minutes here and there pottering and decluttering are making a big difference.
I'm trying to steel myself to make a start on sorting and de-cluttering my CDs which are all higgeldy piggeldy in boxes in my room. I don't have the same emotional attachment to them as I do to my books - but the DVD drive on my pc isn't working so I can't just transfer them all to the PC. It would be so much easier if I could do that

Hi all. Off to work in a min - late today, then 2 long ones. Nothing will be done till Sunday at least! This am I`ve cleared the kitchen - tops, sink, pots etc away...and last night I cooked for tonight & tomorrow`s suppers, so just last-minute heating up to do when I get home. No, it`s NOT that I`ve been `good`...it`s purely selfish really, as this way it`s less stressy for me!
Hope everyone`s pottering along happily, and if not, don`t stress about Mess!

Afternoon Messies.
Welcome, Isis. Must be so frustrating knowing things badly need doing, but not having the energy or health to do them. I guess, whether you like it or not, the amount you can do is limited by those, and not whether you can be bothered to make the effort, unlike some of us on here! Since you have been diagnosed, I don't know how the uni couldn't allow you a year out. I'll have a word with DD1 who works in admin at a uni. It's the sort of thing she'd have to deal with - not that she'd have to make the decision. And I see you like Justin Hayward. I was watching footage of the 1970 IOW festival at the weekend - JH was really very, very nice!
How scary for you, Faith! I don't blame you for keeping your dogs in and out of possible harm's way. Sadly, 'elite' dogs like huskies are very often stolen to order, like classy cars. Well done on all the clearing up! :T Mum won't know what's come over you!
Sounds an exhausting round of commitments, YL. I hope the appointment goes well.
Your poor OH, farmerswife. As if farmwork of your own isn't enough.
But, like all farmerswives, I bet you're a great help!
(and really good dinners are essential, aren't they?) Did you see the answer I gave you about our horses?
I didn't know that about dyson, sonastin. I've never had any desire to own one of those, but I realy dislike deception, and what they've done is just that in my books.
Machairs, I'm glad we've managed to encourage you to get going. As for the DW, mine cooks the dinner, then does the washing up, almost automatically. Doesn't clean up any mess he makes, though, but I can't expect everything!
Cat, well done for keeping going. You deserve to sit and watch Wimbledon - it's your reward.
Oo, I must remember to load up the pics of the cards you asked for.
I see Emms is back to work with a vengeance, bless her.
Had a lovely day with DD1 yesterday, and the weather was mostly dry, but very humid. We returned to Pompey late afternoon, sat with a drink, and people watched for a while, then I treated her to a belated birthday dinner at our favourite fish restaurant. Today, I've loaded the WM and hung the washing out before we went to see to the equines. Since I've been home, I've done some gardening, including re-potting a rather sickly-looking hibiscus. Really don't know what's wrong with it, as it's got a wonderful system of healthy roots. As for de-messying, well, I've changed the towels, and cleared up the dust the plumber made this morning. Hmm, not impressive list of activity, is it?0 -
Well the sun has come out after hours of rain.I got up late after the dog barking and moaning half the night. A stray cat was howling outside the front door which set him off.
Iv just put the hot water on to do the dishes and floor. Going to put some clothing away and get a shower.
Emm hope your shifts are easy ones.
Cat I wish my son got esa but it was scrapped here so he gets zilch. Also the school uniform grant was scrapped.
Ill pop in later and report my cleaning efforts.0 -
Machairs, thanks for the explanation on your student cleaner. Whilst you may feel you need to tidy before she comes, don't clean! What will you be paying her to do if all is clean and tidy when she comes?
If she can't cope with it, tough on her, she needs to wise up. Life is full of challenges and she can't expect you to pay her for a bit of light dusting.
If you feel really bad you could offer her a little extra, then scale it down when there is less to do.
My cleaner does tend to chip or break crockery as she works in such a hurry (her only fault) so I've learned not to leave crockery to be washed or put away-there's no room for a DW. Otherwise she does the cleaning and tidying of bathroom & kitchen.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0
