Sometimes we need to look at ourselves through other peoples eyes to check that we are the person we want to be. If you want to show you DDs that you can do it, its obviously because you want to do it.
Now would you mind sharing a bit of that motivation with the rest of us? :rotfl:
That's very true sonastin, one thing I'm almost 100% sure of is that I won't get any praise or probably even respect for it, so I really need to be doing it for me as well
You can have as much of my motivation as you like, both of 'em if possible:rotfl:0 -
Cat, you have to want to do it for yourself because I suspect, for a time anyway, your DD(s) are going to be reluctant to believe that you've changed. So to guard yourself against being very hurt, you got to be proud of you! Well, we are, too, of course! :T Thanks for the good wishes for tomorrow. Providing we don't have rain (which isn't forecast), we'll have a good day. Bless her, DD1 entertained her sister over the weekend, and that's not always easy.
Have just watched a tv programme about families living in the Edwardian era. Tough times!
See you on Thursday.0 -
Iv just come back from a second walk with the dog. Im glad that Im back to doing the walking again. Hoping that it will help shift the flab.
Cat get a george neumatic if you can. Im really heavy on washers and hoovers and this one is really tough.
Outside is really light and warm still.
Bearcub Iv saved the families in Edwardian times to watch later. I love period documentries/films. I was watching one on the Edwardian farm earlier.
I thought Id share a quote;
We are shaped by our thoughts; we become what we think.

Good lord unsure if I've posted before, I m sure I have though lol.
Well my house is a complete pit
We have 3 kids, 1 dog and 4 house cats
My hubby works full time and until recently I was a full time uni student, year has ended now.
But to add to my problems I've been really unwell for a while now but trying to fight through it though had suspicions of what the problem is.
Well today I finally got the acknowledgement I needed in being told I most likely have CFS as all tests that have been done have all come back clear.
Anyway back to the pit, I try and do as much as I can but most days I find I need regular breaks as I get tired so easily or I start to hurt badly
My hubby does as much as he can when he's home :-) and is very supportive and understands if I've done nothing all day as I've just not been able to.
The kids all do thier own wash loads :-) and try thier best to keep thier rooms tidy, though with the youngest seems like your talking to a brick wall at times lol
Yes I have 4 house cats but they're good :-) just need a regular change of thier litter tray :-) only 1 is a bigger if she's found a little bit of wall paper to rip, good job we want to re decorate lol.
Sadly we don't have as much time to get the dog out as we'd love I try my best but when I have days I can't walk too far it's a bit hard :-(
The recent purchase we have really had to do was for a dishwasher, we are trying our best to keep up with it but with 5 of us stuff builds up so quick and again I just can't always stand at the sink washing up, it's one job we didn't get the kids doing lol but they will be shown to put thier stuff in the dishwasher straight away instead of on the work top :j
Our bedroom has currently got a pile of clean clothes that need to be put away, and itryto keep on top of it when aloud comes out the dryer to foldit straight away but it doesn't always happen and I just find I have days where I have quite a few loads together done after having a days or 2 where I wasn't able to get anything on.
And the garden well, it's awful what with the weather, me feeling bad and hubby not being green fingered it's very overgrown, but we have a plan all the grass will go, planters will come in with fruit trees, a pond and a decked area where I'm able to sit and relax.
Wow that's a long post sorry to bore you and if it sounds a bit all over the place well that's the joys of dyspraxia lol :cool:I love War Of The Worlds:heart2:

Hi Isis
I'm glad you've got a "diagnosis" so to speak. CFS is so debilitating and painful, but you must be relieved in a way?
Your DH sounds like a star, can I borrow him?:p
Let us know how you get on with the dishwasher - is it life-changing??
With your health problems I'm sure it will be a godsend for you
I'm swithering now about whether to get one or not but I know it's only because it's just me and DS here at the moment and it's reasonably easy to keep on top of, when and if there are 4 of us again I'll be desperate for one!
snookey thanks for the tip about the cleaner, I've never heard of that make before. I'm a serial hoover/cleaner killer so I really could do with something indestructible! Funny what you say about it being so light last night, I was shocked by how dark it was here at 10.30 pm, flaming weather:mad:
bearcub thanks for the encouragement
x hope the weather is being kind to you and you enjoy your day out
Not much done today, took the bin bag out the bin and the damn thing burst - cue much choice language!! I did get it cleared up and taken out though. Went and got a bit of shopping and put repeat prescription form in.
It's sooooo grey and drizzly yet again, there really is a noticeably depressed atmosphere when you're out, everyone looks harrassed and gloomy

I have a cleaner because I'm disabled - now working from home - and my kitchen was horrific the first time she came. I was out at work and she had called for a key beforehand.
She later told me she'd seen much worse and she left the place immaculate. She still does.
I did have a friend cleaning for me prior to that, but she expected me to tidy everything up so that she could clean. I couldn't do it and we could have easily fallen out over this.
A professional cleaner should be able to cope with everything. She wants you as a client, so she's hardly going to make you feel embarrassed or ashamed.
Sadly it is the daughter of a friend who has offered to do it for me so I feel I have to get the house sort of clean and tidy beforehand. My friend suggested I get a cleaner and sounded out her daughter to do it. They're both just waiting for the nod I think which puts a bit of pressure on me to get my backside into gear. I can't afford a professional cleaner at the moment and tbh, I'm happier giving money to a young adult who needs it for Uni.0 -

I sympathise with this issue so much. Our bedroom looks awful all the time - just a general dumping ground. I'm aware that there is a routine or a chain of progress with Laundry but, in our house, there seems to be so many obstacles in the way, it never gets followed through.0 -
Thank you so much to everybody who took time to respond to my post of yesterday. I read through each and I have to say I felt inspired to get some stuff done last night now that I feel less alone.
I managed to;
Start working in and clear a corner of the living room as suggested. Found I did a little more as I got into the swing of things.
Hung out washing, loaded the machine and set it to go, loaded the dw and forgot to set it to go
before I left for work today so I should (weather permitting) come home to some dry washing which I will have to put away
Onwards and upwords.

OH swears by the numatic brand of vacuums (nearly said hoovers!). We currently have 2 Henrys and a Charles although the Henrys just say Numatic - you pay extra for one with his name on it! Haven't come across George yet but he might end up joining the family at some point in future.
Apparently numatics are still made in the UK too. OH takes real offence at Dyson because they made such a big deal about supporting UK manufacturing and then quietly shipped the lot offshore. I know not everyone cares about where stuff is made but for those that do, I thought it worth sharing.0 -
Hi Messies, just a quickie for now...
Machairs, welcome & stay around - it really does help sharing our ups & downs here.
Cat - delighted to hear you sounding positive, and I`m still thanking you & loving my new pongXXX
(((HUGS)) to all, whether in need or not!
I`ve been busy - mostly running around, family stuff. Not much de-messying here between that & work. Just bare tick-over chores.
I refuse to fret about the rest. OK, it`s bad in parts, but could be (and HAS been) a lot worse....
Laters...x0
