My home is a mess

:hello: Hello, new Messies!
Well done to everybody who has been cleaning this weekend!
Here, things seem to be descending further into chaos.
I have not managed to paint the skirting boards, so I will have to rearrange the carpet fitting. I have, however, painted the ceiling three times and the walls twice. I have now run out of both paint for the walls and courage that it's the right choice anyway. It was the leftover pale cream paint from my bedroom, which faces south (ish). In a north facing room, it looks a sort of grubby white...The bed still sits in the living room, but at least the wardrobe has made it up the stairs to DD's "second bedroom" (DD does NOT stand for Dudley Dursley :rotfl:), which she has, unbelievably, spent the whole day sorting out. It looks fantastic-shame about the rest of the house
I SO need a weekend cleaning...but I can't see when it's going to happen...and every time I paint something it shows something else up..._pale_import this0 -
hi all been reading but not had much to say til now
managed with help from yd to get avalanche sorted my room actually looked like a bedroom for a while it's a tip as i am typing this really need to get it tidy again its not as bad as before just i've been trying to find things and not been putting stuff back didn't see the point when it was in the wrong place anyway (my excuse and i'm sticking to it) seriously it does need organising better since my daughter has moved a canvas wardrobe into her room hope this one lasts longer than the last one she had
house inspection went well but if she saw it now:eek:

i make a to do list but that's it some days i make the list with the plan of doing some each day til it's done but by the time i've done that i feel so tired i fall asleep most days

hey muffin man! Good to see you
Try and take heart in the fact that you are managing to start things, it's so difficult to start sometimes...all the time in my case!
Are you sure your meds are suiting you? If you're feeling weird and headachy since the dose was increased I'd be a bit worried if I was you, they might not be agreeing with you at this dose.
I'm sure either getting the extra bedroom or your DS getting a flat would both be beneficial to you all, but I hope he gets a flat
bearcub thank you for being proud of me, although at that point I hadn't actually done anything
Today I have - been up the school with DS's volumatic spacer for his inhaler even though I'm damn sure they've got one there. Haven't heard anything back since then so he must be ok - either that or too scared to ask to come home since that flaming social worker letter put pressure on him:mad:
Phoned to get a plumber out, he/she will be here sometime after 2pm (hopefully sooner rather than later, hate this waiting about, it puts me on edge).
Mopped kitchen floor and hoovered hall.
Will wash some dishes after plumber has been.
hugs to all xxx0 -
Hi Messies!
MuffinMan, keep posting - and remember, just because you are `home all day` doesn`t mean your place should be clean & tidy, lots of folks find that the more time they have the more difficult it is to get going. Don`t beat yourself up over just doing `little bits`, and as for Not Finishing stuff.... trying to keep a house clean & tidy isn`t something that gets finished, it`s never-ending I reckon!!! That`s not meant to put you off, it`s just trying to get things into perspective.
That`s how I feel about my garden too - it could be a constant battle, but I`ve learned to love the weeds!!! Hack a few here & there when necessary, do a bit and leave a lot!
Messy Status report-
Washed up after last night (it was very nice!) & put heavy damp rugs out again. I was awake early ONLY because next door were having cavity wall insulation done & work started at silly o`clock...
Went to farm shop and got some proper bakers bread, gave it to DS & his GF to take with them -
They`ve gone back to her place - just left - it`s a good 3 hours` drive, and this means OH & I have the place to ourselves for a week!
I`m pondering how to celebrate...0 -
Iv left a big pile of clothes on top of the landing ready to be sorted and put away. Iv got to go over the stairs and landings to get the cat hair up. Our bedroom needs a tidy and the kitchen.
Son will do the kitchen so one less job,
DD is going away for two days with the school the funny thing is that her nan and grandad back onto the place.
Emm a nice boxo of chocs and a bottle of wine with your feet up will help you celebrate.0 -
Hi muffinman. As Cat says, maybe you should report back about your meds. Take thing slowly and remember, one task done, is one off the list.
I'd obviously misread your post, Cat, as I'd thought you'd done some de-messying. Millon dollar question - have you by now?
Emms, I'm glad your meal was good; it sounded very tasty to me!
What a coincidence about the place your DD will be staying, snookey. Since we moved to the island, we've met so many people - either living here or on holiday here, who come from around the area where we used to live. Very good that your Ds will clean up the kitchen.
Re meds, OH and I had a bit of an argument last week, and rowing isn't something we've ever done much. He's had a rash and a cough for ages, and I thought it might be his meds, but would he see the GP? Anyway, he finally went, GP wasn't sure the meds were responsible, but she changed one and, lo and behold, the rash is vanishing! Ho hum.
Have made a loaf in the BM, tow lots of washing on the line, and I've started a summer newsletter for the local churches. Out for supper tonight with friends, but at the house of a couple we don't know at all well. Very kind of them to invite us, but we're not sure why. :undecided0 -
Hi Messies!
I managed to do the ironing yesterday :j !!! The kids were very impressed!! haha!!
Today i went to collect some new hens for my little flock and when i got back i whizzed round the living room with the hoover and then it was school-run time.
I've started to think about homemade gifts to give at christmas, so if any of you have any good ideas...???
JxIt's a farmers life for me......:j0 -
Farmers wife how about, homemade sweets, biscuits, cake, homemade wine, jams, calender with a photo of the family, homemade soaps, hamper with homemade food or soaps. Hope this helps.
Just got back from the shops was really naughty and bought sweets . Mind you Iv been quite good of late.
Outlaws have been whilst we were out. They came late . Son had to entertain them.0 -
Well done, farmerswife. I've yet to clear mine, as I tend to iron only what I need. A friend of mine had one of her hens die a little while ago. The companion was with her when she died, but is now wandering around the garden calling for her.
Oh, I think you're entitled to a treat occasionally, don't you, snookey?0
