My home is a mess

Millymolly, if, like me, you are a list-writer, put a couple of very easy things at the top of the list, it makes you feel better when you cross them off!0

I have de-cluttered and dusted the side-board and filed the receipts and shredded the confidential stuff. I have also flicked a duster around the living room and cleaned the piggies with OH's help.
So I have made a small start. The dining room remains cluttered because of the work on my eldest sons bedroom but it wont be forever.
Hope you have a good afternoon xxI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
Hi everyone. Milly molly join the line for a messy home.
Iv cleaned the kitchen, sorted out the bird and dog cages, put washing in,mopped hall, family room and kitchen. Iv roped son into cleaning the bathroom.
OH has been up the ladder to pull out a weed and do the guttering. He only managed a few mins before swelling up. Iv told him that id do it but being a marter !!!!!.
Iv started a list of cleaning ie daily, monthly ,six weekly. Im going to put it on the fridge in the hope everyone will take notice. Im not holding my breath though.
Emm not too much remember its your time off work.0 -
MILLYMOLLY - I know how you feel, I CAN'T let anyone in to my place it's so bad. Actually, thinking about that, I must be due a meter reading this week....:eek::eek: Oh heck!! The electric meter is just inside the front door so I can deal with that, but the gas meter is on the veranda off the living room and that is horrific. They did get access 3 months ago so I could just send a reading online and ignore the door.....:o Or I could use it as an incentive.:o I should really, DS has lost a tenner somewhere in here and it's so frustrating, we turned the room upside down yesterday and no sign of it:mad:
The spider fear is still proving a big stumbling block.
As is the fact that the carpet height adjustor on the hoover has gone again and I can't see how to fix it, despite dismantling the base I just can't see a way into the mechanism. It's just not effective enough on medium.
Today's plan is to sweep and mop the kitchen floor, wipe the worktops, then it should be ok for me to phone and get the plumber out to fix the tap. I'm also going to declutter the post pileAnd nip out to the shops, DS said he'd go for me when he gets back from playing football but by that time he'd have to go to Spar so I might as well go to Farmfoods myself and save some money!
:j Emm!!
Just looked at the time and can't believe it, I didn't stumble out of bed till VERY late but even so.....!:o
Hugs everyone!xxx
ps mcculloch the flying doobry story made me laugh, thanks!:D0 -
Hello again.
Possession, normally I`d agree about the list thing, but today I by-passed that stage (does that count as `sudden?!)
Snookey - no fear of me doing `too much`!!!
Since last post I`ve done 2 WM loads & pegged outside (the recent rain flattened some of the nettles & long grass so was able to access the line!) AND cleaned kitchen floor, done 2 quick runs to launderette to deposit(wash only, too heavy for my WM even though they`d fit) & then collect the other pair of LR rugs (for when both sides of current pair are too bad).
Next, after this coffee... I`m going to clean downstairs loo - because I`ve been emptying dirty mop bucket water in and it looks awful now.
Later I`ll make a fire and cook supper, but that`s IT.
I am NOT going to dust or clear the various flat surfaces...buggritt!
Molly, well done on the duster-flicking. I shall save mine for another day!
Bearcub - hope the service goes well.
I`m doing chicken later (YS) with tarragon, wine & Elmlea...steamed charlotte spuds & cauli. I`ll have to sample the wine first to make sure it`s ok cos you can`t see it in the winebox....
Have a nice evening Messies. xx
Drags self off to clean loo...0 -
I have just sorted out the huge wardrobe in DD's old room ( now the main spare room) I found a fleece insert from a mountain jacket I've been looking for for 6 months or more and I have a big bag of stuff for the charity shop tomorrow. I also found some shoes I have had for ages but not really worn just as my work shoes are looking ready for the bin LOL...0

Emm I think that does count as sudden! We have managed to knock a few off the list, cleaned 2 bathrooms and toilet, vacuumed and cleared up upstairs, sorted and put away all DD's clothes which counts as about 10 jobs in itself. Have just put the oven on for the roast chicken and having a cuppa while it warms up.
I have a nice fuzzy feeling of jobs well done this weekend though after all our outside work yesterday, and have also freecycled 2 underbed storage units and taken two huge photo frames which have just sat around for about 3 yrs to the tip, so feel like we've actually made a difference.0 -
Wow, do you lot know this is supposed to be the day of rest?! :rotfl:
Cat, well done! :T I'm proud of ya! As long as the meter reader can get near enough to read, don't worry about the state of the place. He's not coming to look at your house.
Emms, go carefully. Don't wreck your holiday with too much de-messying. Your meal sounds wonderful. How long would it take to get up to your place?
Nearlyrich, treasure trove time! Of course, with the summer we're having, that fleece could come in useful.
Possession, it's good when you've completed some jobs, isn't it? You can start polishing your halo now.0 -

LOL I think I might need to do this a bit more often to earn my halo!0 -
Well, maybe, Possession, but we're here to encourage! :T0
