Cat :). It is a hard slog. DD2 had a bad couple of days over the Jubilee weekend, but she picked up on the Monday. Do you do any type of exercise? She finds that helps a lot - she runs or goes for brisk walks - and says it does her head good. And a good diet helps, because your brain needs to right chemicals as much as your body does. As for the de-messying, would it help to pick out one particular area, and systematically clear/clean that up? Don't spread yourself too thin, or you'll never feel you've achieved anything. Once you've managed to see a positive difference, it'll help lift you, if only a tiny bit.

A bit of gardening done - mostly clearing up damage done by heavy rain. And I've washing hanging out, but whether it'll dry ina couple of hours, I don't know. Whatever, it should smell sweeter.
  • Hi Messies!

Not got much done today, i've been to a hospital apptmnt with my son who has Crohn's Disease & isn't feeling too good at the moment. So i quickly sorted everything for the supper this morning so that i didn't have much to do when we got back from our 4 hour round trip to the hospital!

Tomorrow i'm hoping to spring into action upstairs and get some tidying done in the kids rooms!

Cat501 - Don't worry, i'm also addicted to the tennis!!!

    Jxx
    It's a farmers life for me......:j

Cat Im going to the doctors for a smear later so Ill mention it then.

Iv decided that Im going to get rid of ten items a day until the clutter in the spare room and cellar is clear. I reckon that this way Ill clear the carp in a month or two.

Well Im off to bo bo . Night night everyone.

    Afternoon Messies.

Well done, Cat. One small step for a lot of people, a giant leap for Cat. :T

Hope your DS is feeling better now, farmerswife.

No de-messying in the house although, yet again, I must clear away some card-making materials. Instead, OH and I had to do some emergency first-aid treatment on our garden arch, which was being pulled apart by a jasmine, heavy with rain. The arch is over some steps, so it's not the easiest thing to access, but it's better now, after us both getting covered in flowers, leaves and dust. The bees just love the jasmine, so I won't cut it back just yet but, once it's finished flowering, it'll be cut hard back. Oh, the sun shone this morning, so I got a WM load of towels dry! :)

    Hello again Messies!
Cat - I know what you mean about mess being `bitty` - but even doing a tiny bit of the bitty stuff is getting something done. I haven`t even done that today, but I might put a wash on in a bit...
Bearcub`s posts are immensely encouraging, so do take heart, OK?
Re the magazines - I can only speak for our place, but wards for in-patients won`t even accept books now - it`s Infection Control policy, WE can`t go giving books/magazines from one patient to another (yet they can and do swop amongst themselves, but that`s ok because the ward isn`t `involved`!)
Outpatient areas, clinic waiting rooms etc., are always only TOO glad to accept readable stuff in good condition, so that`d be your best bet.
YorkshireLass - hope your son is better soon
Bearcub - well done fixing your arch, and Bless You for considering the bees!! (I`ve gone a bit bee-mad lately since my bee-hotels have been inhabited! Nothing has hatched yet, the holes are still sealed...but I keep going to look, and noticing other bees so much more, even though I was `bee-friendly ` before!)
    Laters..

Thanks for that Emm, that didn't even occur to me, I'll do that then :) This will sound stupid, but where would be a central place to take them? I guess they wouldnt' want me wandering round the whole hospital looking for waiting rooms :/

I am taking heart from bearcub and all of you :) xx

I'd love to see more "garden" photos from people, even though they make me envious I do love looking at them! Bearcub your jasmine-covered arch sounds so pretty!

snookey, how did it go today? x

Today I'll start with a confession, I didn't make it to my CPN:o I woke up at 2am feeling so sick - and stayed awake most of the night with a basin next to me although I wasn't actually sick and feel better now. I phoned and asked if they could get him to ring me and reschedule but I haven't heard yet - I'll need to phone back because obviously he has a lot on his plate and doesn't always remember to call me. It's next week's Psych appt which is the really important one though, although I'm in a comfort zone with my cpn and got quite scared when he said maybe we'd gone as far as we could go, I know he needs to be where he's needed and doing some good!

In the achievements column, I took a load of carrier bags to the charity shop. It's a start in clearing the cupboard under the sink. The hot tap isn't working and I thought I'd at least have a go at fixing it myself (!!!), turned what I thought was the main stopcock off and left the cold tap running - but it kept running. So I guess it wasn't the main stopcock and I need to clear out the mountain of carp to find it because I know it's in there somewhere!!

Hung all my bags up inside the cupboard in my bedroom.

Found a load of knitting needles for 50p a pair in charity shop and bought 4 pairs for DD2 (and DD1 if she ever comes back).

DS has gone out for tea with his gran (not happy about missing the football!) and DD2 has decided to get herself a takeaway so I'll have one of those nights when I just eat cereal and sandwiches :)

Last night's appointment went really well and I'm booked in for surgery on the 8th August:) Someone has just arranged another school reunion night out for the 4th which is perfect as I won't be out for a few weeks after the op :)

I've decided I need to go and buy some storage things, but first I need to decide what I need to store! I'm reading the "overwhelmed by clothes" thread with interest as clothes, paperwork, and "damn things which have no home but can't really be thrown out" are my main problems.

Hope everyone is well :) xxx

+Cat sorry your not feeling well. Hugs.
I went for the smear and for the first time it was really painfull and I bled. Something about erosion on the cervic. I think the nurse was too rough. Iv been in bed with stomach pains most of the day. In saying that dont let me put you off as Iv met people who have now passed away from cervical cancer . I met them through Joes trust as a friend has been through it.
Going to have a coffee in a min. ]

thanks snookey, I'm feeling a lot better now :) x

Sorry to hear you had a horrible experience! My second smear was awful too, I nearly passed out, took me many years to pluck up the courage to have another one, and I hardly felt a thing, as it should be. And yes, even the tiny risk of getting someone too rough wouldn't compare to having cancer.

I really must go and get one, I'm long overdue....:o
