Big hugs Faith. Sometimes it feels like one step forward and two back doesnt it? Maybe going to the festival and having some fun will do you good.

I am busy in the garden so the house isnt getting any attention. I have made some real inroads into getting the garden tidied up though and it does look better. Need to go and cut the grass now, I am actually glad it is cooler today because trying to do anything yesterday was such hard work.

Right, maybe a sneaky cuppa then going to drag the mower out of the shed.

Thanks Yorkshirelass that is totally how it feels. I think you're right the break should do me good.

Plus it's a busy time of year at both jobs so im knackered before I even get home lol.

Plus had a row with OH last night as apparently his job is harder because he is on his feet all day. It all started because the kitchen was untidy. I had sorted the washing re-did the dishwasher as it hadn't cleaned properly the first time and put a load of washing on but this wasn't good enough apparently.

He ate his words those and was really sorry when he saw I had packed & ironed his clothes for his training course today & tomorrow. That made me feel a bit better lol (not often a man apoligises is it;))

Still annoying though that he thinks his job is harder than mine

Im looking around the place and looking at things that need doing ie dishes ,hoovering, mopping floors and I dont feel the least motivated to do them. Iv put a wash on and thats it.
Im going to read the rest of my book and then see if I can motivate myself.
    See you all later.

    I take it so personally.

    Now stop right there

I can 99.99% guarantee that when your OH airs his woes, it's not intended to be a criticism of you!

You hit the nail on the head - you "take it personally" - but that doesn't mean it was aimed at you.

    Stop it. STOP IT :D

Does it work for you if you aim to have just one room done?

Might not be the best plan as I have the cleanest utility room and dirtiest kitchen on the planet :o (I just move the mess/filth around a bit :D)

I think it is just genetically programmed into them! My OH doesn't actually have a job - he's working full time on renovating our house - and yet that is apparently harder and more important than my full time office job which pays for everything that he wants to do on the house. Which is why I must do all the day-to-day housework...

I thought his monday-friday job was the building work, I'd go to the office and then evenings and weekends would be sharing the housework and doing fun stuff. Instead he does building work all day, every day and I get to do my boring office job and then all the cooking, cleaning, tidying, shopping, laundry in my "free" time. Which is why I quite often come on here for a moan and a rant.

Messymare - I tend to take what OH says too personally too. I keep telling myself that if he really meant it like it sounds, I should chuck him out. And as I'm not going to do that, I might as well choose to believe that he doesn't actually mean to insult me. :D After all, stress isn't an external event, its the way that we choose to react to the event that stresses us out.

    Evening Messies!

Not been around for ages, and it'll take me ages to catch up. It seems, though, that there are lots of you feeling poorly or down, or both, so huge HUGS to you all.

Amcluesent, how wonderful to have the whole house cleaned for you! :) I think that should be availble on the NHS, don't you?

There seems to be a lot of newbies, or they're people who've been missing for a while. Hello, all, anyway.

Where was I before I went AWOL? Just about to have our bathroom re-furbished, I think. That's now done - took about 10 days -difficult days - as our bungalow is so small, but the plumber was excellent. Very handy having Mum just across the road. A month on, we've had the bathroom flooring done, so it looks finished now, which it is, except for a couple of small things. The fitters today, in an hour, made almost as much mess as the plumber did in a day, and didn't help by being nearly 2 hours late! They managed to scratch the newly painted bathroom door and, while walking around with bare feet (well, the weather's hot!) I found they'd left a couple of screws on the hall carpet. Not impressed.

Still, managed the vacuum the carpets, and washed the new floor (it was sticky) and the kitchen floor, too, In between taking and picking Mum up from the hairdresser.

JPS- are you feeling any better?

Sonastin - that's a good way to look at it, I must remember that.

Today is a lot better :) I am so glad sometimes I have a life outside the goings on in the house/relationship. Does me good to get out I think. Bought some petit pois plants yesterday for cheap because they were half dead. There was still plenty of strong ones in the batch though so just planted them out and gave them a good drink. Anyone know how tall they should be before I need to support them with a cane?

As for home stuff I've not done much. I figure I'll have plenty of time for that very soon so I'm just doing the bare minimum to keep it from being an utter sty.

    (hugs) to everyone xxx
