DD off to dentist tommorrow to have baby teeth out. Im glad oh is coming because I cant bare to be in the room when they are taking them out.
Farmers wife it must be difficult meeting up with your biological family but it sounds as if yours is going well.
Amcluesent thats the way to go with a cleaning company. Is it expensive.
Take care everyone.0 -
Amcluesent, way to go.
I have a cleaner once a week and life is so much easier as a result. She doesn't have time to do the whole house but kitchen and bathroom are so much better after her (and her daughter's) hour here. I am able to keep on top of everything as a result and my son is much happier too.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -
Had a very productive day today. We were supposed to be out all afternoon but OH was in a bad mood and ended up having a bit of a temper tantrum so we came home early. In a spirit of "damned if I'm going to put up with your sulking" I spent the rest of the afternoon being busy - did all the laundry, dried it, put away that which I remembered to bring in off the line (last 1.5 loads are still out there because I forgot until just now!), marinaded some chicken tikka pieces from the takeaway secret book, cleaned the bathroom, cleaned the kitchen, made some bread rolls (and burnt them) made dinner, loaded, emptied and reloaded DW. Oh and stripped the bed, took the electric blanket off, switched the winter duvet for the summer one and remade the bed. Which I'm ready for now! Just need to go and strip the chicken carcass and put the leftovers in the fridge first.
Thanksfully OH's mood improved after he had a nap so he's cleaned the living room today too. Just the bedroom to go and we'll have a completely clean house!!! (Well, the bit we live in anyways - the building site side is a good couple of years from being what you'd call clean!)0 -
Woke up to a clean and tidy house. I wounder how long that will last?.
My smallest fluffy cat wanted cuddling under the covers this morning. Funny little thing also likes to sleep on my back.
Sonastain I cant stand it when oh moans and tend to shut off. He stops when I ignore him.
Messymare no chance of me joining the fly ladies I have spurts of energy and then none, lol.

Hi Messies! Been MIA for a bit (mostly at work!) also had some computer trouble...managed to read a bit here though, which cheers me considerably...
Quite Honestly folks, ANYONE who`s done any but the most basic necessities stuff indoors in the heat we`ve had lately should get a medal!!
I have done NOTHING but the most basic necessities (mostly due to work) but I`ll freely admit that if I`d had days off I`d have done very little anyway!
Big HUGS(( ))) to all who need `em, Fly-Messies and CBA Messies alike!0 -
This is my first full day off in a week now, and I`ve had to spend most of it doing an on-line course (for work) Computer is behaving itself at present but I`m constantly expecting it to have a relapse, so that`s added to my stress today. Have finally completed the necessary modules, have downloaded the certificate, but can`t print it off as printer not attached, it was unplugged while DS was having a fiddle, Henrying the computer innards, fan, etc....and I`m too much of a Luddite to set it up again - have to wait for DS.
Another option, I could e-mail the cert. to my boss...only I can`t remember how to add enclosed doc in an e-mail....so have to wait for DS.
The serious level of Tech.Support I need is one reason why I put up with DS`s mess!!!0 -
Hi messies, I had to come home ill today - I seem unable to accept that I'm ill enough to stay off work, and drag myself in. Had pains in my stomach, and felt sick, realised by quarter to nine that I wasn't going to be any use to anyone, and went to see the boss. She was lovely and said nice things, so I didn't feel too guilty sloping off.
Was afraid I'd feel better once I got home, then feel really guilty, but no... I ended up just going to bed. I have zero energy, it's difficult even to get to the fridge to get a drink, I feel like I'm wading through treacle. Even lifting the drink up to drink it is a struggle!
I have an upset tummy and my neck glands feel a bit tender, although they're not swollen or anything. I should have realised yesterday that I was ill, but I thought I was just knocked out with the heat. Also sneezed a lot yesterday, and thought it was hay fever, but not sneezing at all today.
I suppose if I'm not better after a couple of days I'll go and see the dr. but I think it's just a summer bug.
Hope all messies are feeling better than me! And well done to those getting stuff done - I'm like you Emm, even when I have the opportunity sometimes I do nothingmainly because work wears me out and there have to be times when I do nothing, regardless of the state of the house!

aw hope you feel better soon jpscloud. There are a few peopple I know who are suffering with a cold.
How is it possible to have such a messy house when you or your family haven't even been in the darn house over the weekend? It's possible... it happened here! I have spent the whole day just getting it back to an acceptable level. Tomorrow I'll hit it again, excluding the kids room's. They are just beyond me at the moment.0 -
Cheers fuddle - I think I was even more unable to accept that I have a bug because the weather is so nice, it seems really daft to be ill in nice weather somehow!
I'll send you some of my CBA, so you won't be tempted to try the kids rooms! Seriously though, take it easy - that's what the messies thread is all about for me, celebrate what we do but don't feel carp about what we can't do.I believe in the freedom of spinach and the right to arm bears.
