Tired today (yawns loudly). Suffering the after-effects of spending the day in hospital yesterday with DS. Why do these visits to hospital wipe me out? Its not even me having treatment!

Emm - you always sound so upbeat and positive about stuff. Reading your posts is like sitting down with an old friend for a natter.

I have this habit of deciding to do something and nothing but nothing will stop me. The grass under and around the kids trampoline was really annoying me this week. Cant get the mower under and I dont have a strimmer - not sure a strimmer would reach anyway.

So I crawled under the trampoline with the hedging shears and hacked off all the long grass. If anyone saw me they would have thought I had completely lost the plot. It worked though and does look better - if a little bit straggly!

Going to have a day out tommorrow, promised the kids lunch out, must have had a funny turn as I am not known for such extravagance! Hope everyone is OK and is looking forward to a long weekend if you are lucky enough to be not working.

Well done on getting that job done yorkshirelass. I can get a bit like that. I like to think of it as being resourceful. My DH just thinks I'm a nutter.

Not much at all in the way of housework today as we're decorating the living room.

Hi all, well done Kitty sounds like a good de-messying session there! Glad your DS is ok, well you know what I mean, not ok but will be soon.

fuddle, decorating counts as housework here! I wish I had the motivation to get on with it.

I'm in deep CBA mode. I feel like having a duvet day, but mum's coming over in a couple of hours so need to stay awake. Just done the absolute basics for hygeine again.

The weather has really put the dampeners on me! I've even put the heating on today. I wouldn't mind the rain so much if at least it was warm summery rain.

Taking my parents out tomorrow but after that maybe I'll have a burst of energy and get something done from my list of major jobs in the house - I don't think the garden is going to get much attention, other than a sad prod and poke here and there, and maybe the odd weed pulled out.

    Afternoon Messies.
Tired today (yawns loudly). Suffering the after-effects of spending the day in hospital yesterday with DS. Why do these visits to hospital wipe me out? Its not even me having treatment!

Simply because it's stressful, yorkshirelass, even if you don't realise it at the time. <hugs> I can quite understand why you just had to cut that grass. I get like that occasionally, very occasionally! ;)

Well done, Kitty! You'll put us all to shame. Sorry about your DS, but I'm glad to hear it's nothing serious.

Sorry to hear the weather's 'orrible in your area, jps. It's not reached us yet, but I can see dark clouds coming from the north east. :( It's still warm, fairly humid and hazily sunny here.

I feel shattered. OH and I have been saying for weeks that the conservatory needed cleaning, but it's been far too hot to even make a start. Yesterday, it was very overcast, so we cleaned the roof blinds - full of dead insects and dirty marks. Sadly, when we bought them, we took the cheapest option, but they're not easily cleaned, being coated paper. Still, they look a lot better. OH went out, and I continued to clean the ceiling and tops of the walls - up and down the steps quite a few times. This morning, I was gardening in the local churchyard then, when we both got home (OH had been to muck out), we trudged over to Mum's, where I cut her grass and OH cut her front hedge. Now, I want to sleep.

Hi Snookey. sorry to hear about your dad. Abcesses are really painful. I assume he's on ABs now? It'll take a while for the ABs to kick in. Hope he feels better soon.

Rosie - sorry to hear about your dad, how are you coping?

Bearcub- thanks for the good wishes :)

Laurel - good luck with your job hunt, I know how you feel about rubbish forms, always makes me want to design my own to send to them! Oh and how many have you seen so far with spelling errors?

Well, the good news is I've got another job :) how I swung that one I don't know. 6 month temp contract, which will be reviewed at the end of the year and may go permanent form there. Really good wages, and has the all important administrator title (I've wanted to get into it for ages but have no cast iron experience, even though I've done administration in every single job I've ever done).

So, next to no washing up to do as OH was lovely and bought us fish and chips, he's weeded the entire flower bed down the side of the back garden and done a huge portion of the front gravel drive. He has been so good today, I'm so impressed with him. Normally he just makes a big deal of doing frivolous jobs that don't really matter, but he's been a star this weekend :)

Last day of work today, I'm so pleased it's over. Might even have a lay in tomorrow!

    (((hugs)))

:T Messymare! You swung it by being the bestest, of course! Yes, an administrator is a helpful title to have, as my DD1 has found out. It covers a multitude of skills, and is SO useful for all sorts of work places. Hopefully, though, you won't have to think of other work places. :)

This afternoon and tonight, I've done little except eat my dinner and finish a birthday card for someone. Oh, and watch LOTR, which I've read I don't know how many times, and have watched twice before.
