I find that I take wee urges to clean now at strange hours - I blame it on my health and energy levels but sometimes it is nice just to get it done. I am in a flat so I cant hoover all hours of the day and night but hey ho - everything else Ill do when I want.craftygranny wrote: »Well i've sorted out 2 cupboards and filled up the new unit with stuff that was cluttering up the kitchen. I've painted 3 walls in the kitchen about 2/3rds of the way up and sweet talked my 19 yo son into finishing the top for me so just 1 wall left to do and i have wallpaper for that hopefully tomorrow or friday. I binned loads of stuff and have nothing left that's out of date and when i open the cupboards i can see what i want straight away i have tidy ones not cluttered ones.
You are def overachiving - thank god the messy genes are hard to resist!!!0 -
BB i'll be underachieving tomorrow for sure i can hardly walk now . Serves me right trying to run before i can walk. I should know better with my knees. It was looking so good i just didn't want to stop.lol.Cross Stitch Challenge Member Number 20

will someone turn up at the door just to embarrass me, i find myself apologising before they have even got through the door
I do exactly the same Taliahmai, My very best friend came round the other afternoon and before she stepped in the door i was apologising for the mess , thing is she's seen it all before and knows how badly i struggled to cope after the loss of my brother 15 months ago (although bless her she did offer to help with cleaning with me).
It's a real shame we all don't live closer together and all give eachother a hand with the housework, i don't know about you guys but i find it so much easier cleaning someone elses place and also being able to clean my place when i have someone to do it with.
Didn't do to bad today, descaled the bathroom sink and bath (round the plug hole) the old style way with vinegar, cleaned the bathroom after the descaling, and deluttered another cupboard in the kitchen. Although i still have a long way to go in the kitchen i can feel it's begining to come together :T.
Oh i think i best go clean out the cats litter tray now.
Well done everyone, keep going.

Good-o. Just had a major decluttering win. Someone has contacted me from the LETS Scheme interested in buying a large-ish item of furniture thats been folded up and sitting in my understairs cupboard for a whiles now.
So - questions about it answered later and they are coming for a look on Saturday and almost certain to "buy" it. So "two bites of the cherry" there - half that cupboard clear and 50 Lets Credits (equivalent to £50) towards reducing my debit balance I have (equivalent of overdraft - but no interest) on my Lets account.
Now considering whether or not I need/will ever need a chest of drawers I have in my meditation room (still wavering on that - as 'twas about £300 as I recall for it - despite being only 2 drawers high....). Dont like thinking I've wasted that much money - even though I expect that would also "find a good home" with a Lets member and that would knock a substantial hole in the rest of my debit balance....Decisions...decisions....0 -
Feeling very virtuous, went to the co op and bought lots of double cream reduced to 10p a pot and have made about 4lbs of butter and a pint of milk / whey with which I shall make scones. The butter is being frozen, and some is earmarked for tablet later. I cleaned the FP straight away :rotfl: (that's the virtuous bit
)

Im just the same, if i have someone here doing it with me then i wizz thorough it without a second thought, and at my mums the first thing i usually do is wash up for her and sweep round so she doesnt have it to do when she gets it...i just cant bring myself to do it at my own home lol
Im so sorry to hear about your brother too, my brother was killed almost 4 years ago, so believe me i know how your feeling there, i still sit and talk to him at night when the kids are in bed, and i just know he is still here with me as i often 'feel' himx

Hi everyone I hope you don't mind me joining in xx I'm almost 27 weeks pregnant and have had a rough pregnancy (extreme morning sickness and my waters broke at 14 weeks. They'd completely healed by 24 weeks though thank god) and my OH works nights though he has been off for the past 5 weeks because of a recurrig back injury (he broke his pelvis and fractured a vertebrae in a bike crash 4 years ago). Because of all this my house has gone to pot, made worse by our 3 dogs and 3 cats.
I'm finally back on the ball though and have been making steady progress these last couple of weeks.
I have managed to sort out the entire upstairs. Our second bedroom is currently the "junk" room but now has order to it and I manaed to throw out/recycle/charity lots of things we don't need now baby is on his way.
My OH has made a start on he nursery. He's only painted the bottom half of the wall but it's taking shape.
We've moved our room around to make room for baby's swinging crib so that's another thing sorted.
I've got through a load of washing and have even started washing baby's things.
Our 2 living rooms are looking the best they have in a while. All dogs have been washed and de flead. The cats have been de flead and the house has been sprayed.
All that's left to do really is the stairs, kitchen and bathroom then it's just keeping on top of it.
I've managed to get back into walking after 6 weeks bedrest so am loving getting out in this weather!
Just remember to take it easy. I did laugh at the cats and dogs getting de-flead. That's what I call decluttering.:rotfl:
I have just spent ages catching up, you lot can't half talk. I have been chipping away for the last few days but think I will really hit the house when I finish for maternity leave next Thursday:j:T:j:T. Do you get the impression I'm looking forward to it.:rotfl:
Keep up the good work everyone, you are keeping me inspired.1 debt v's 100 days chapter 34: T3sco bank CC £250/£525.24 47.59%

Well you've all been doing so well :T
Work has kinda scuppered my tidying a bit, since I last posted I did tidy the bombsite away and created two drawers in my cupboard. There's an area clear around my bed that's not been seen for a year or two - the cat keeps wandering around it in amazement :rotfl:.
I had another look in my wardrobe and found I have over 20 shirts for work , I've sorted through them and the longer sleeved ones have been neatly folded and put in the drawers and the short sleeved ones are left in the wardrobe to wear over the summer and in the autumn I will swap them round - note to self I DO NOT NEED ANY MORE SHIRTS FOR WORK :rotfl:
The past couple of nights I've been busy with other stuff - but tomorrow night .... maybe I could attack the paperwork - zzzzz or I could pop in the pub for a swift one after I've voted :whistle:0 -
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: love the idea of us all doing each others houses. I love doing my 2 private cleaning jobs as I only go once a week to each of them and can happily scrub the houses from top to bottom (I even do the ironing for one lady) but I just can't get motivated enough to do my own
I think it is because I come in from work in the evenings and my lot have trashed what I have managed to do in the dayGetting myself sorted 1 day/1thing at a timeand Love sewing
