Washed up. Had a long, "productive" bath. Made tea for DS. Ate tin of diet Carrot and Coriander soup. Decided I do not like Carrot and Coriander soup.
So yeah - nothing to report! Anyone else getting a feeling of deja vu?
Plan for tonight - sweep kitchen floor if I can drag myself away from the tennis:o0 -

I've lost my mojo really badly now - I think it is my hormones (yes, I'm still blithering on about those!) and I wish they'd stop making me feel rubbish all the time.
I've also got on the scales for the first time in over a year and was a bit shocked, even having expected a gain. So, today's the day... I'm starting with portion control, but making it fairly gradual.
I understand that most diets ultimately fail if you do too much too soon, hence gradual change (slightly less cornflakes in the bowl, instead of only enough to feed a mouse, four fishcakes instead of six, eventually dropping down to two, etc.) I am also not totally cutting out "bad" stuff, but operating on the same principal... I can have some chocolate if it's just one or two bits, and so on.
Exercise is also on the agenda... I will be putting my walking poles through their paces on the canal towpath soon!
Oh yeah.. messy status - really, really bad. Like, dude(ettes).I believe in the freedom of spinach and the right to arm bears.

damn hormones! But the end of your post did make me laugh jps!
Good luck with the portion control. I tried a bit of that last week - weighed out my Special K - and looked at it in total dismay!! Must have been about a third of my usual portion!!:o
farmerswife hi - I've just read one of your posts on another thread - jackie_w's - you and sonastin describe your depression and its effect on you so well! You pretty much described me too! One thing I will say is, you are SO lucky that your kids are supportive and give you the praise you deserve when you manage to do something. All I get is criticism for being rubbish!:(
Must find some shoes to put on. Does anyone else feel completely lethargic and totally undressed without shoes on? Put my trainers in the washing machine earlier and don't want to walk about in heels! And slippers just don't cut it I'm afraid.0 -
I'm in slippers. They're deeply inelegant moccasin -style ones that my mum would be quite happy to have for Christmas, but they're soooooooo comfortable, and I must be getting old, because my feet are *killing* me after a day at work.
Armed with comfy feet, I have finished the toy room! (Well, except for the puppets I found on the back of the door when I thought I'd finished...I think they'll need their own box to keep them safe in the loft). Sadly, clutter removal (my babies' childhood, actually...sob) has left it looking very much in need of a coat of paint and a new carpet. But since it was hard to *see* the carpet a week ago, I guess that's a plus. Probably.
Oh, and I've done something either extraordinarily clever or colossally stupid. I've offered to hold the annual staff barbecue *at my house*:eek::eek:. It might not happen, but I have to work on the principle that it will...motivation...much :eek::eek:
I think I might go and have a little lie down from the shock...import this0 -
My favourite tip is to a lot of tiny doses of cleaning. Like, unload the dishwasher while the kettle is boiling and reload it while your tea is steeping. Put laundry away while the bath is running. Wipe the counter while your crumpet toasts.
I like the ideas at Flylady, but something about the purple sparkly downhome cutesy gee-mom-put-your-lipstick-on vibe really gets my goat. Have you seen Unf**k Your Habitat? It's certainly right at the other extreme!0 -
Laurel, I'd rather eat my own feet than invite my work colleagues round to my house! I'd die of embarrassment. I'm quite quirky (or eccentric perhaps) after a long while of living on my own and I think some of what's become quite normal to me would seem bizarre to them!
Cat, I can't bear wearing shoes in the house. As soon as I get home I change into comfy crocs. With those and my home made fleece ponchos I look - well, interesting. I have to take off the poncho when I go to put something in the bin to avoid frightening the neighbours.I believe in the freedom of spinach and the right to arm bears.

Cat501 - hello!! It's good to know that it's not just me that's going through the depression, my kids are great now because i think they understand a bit more about it, mr farmer is not quite as understanding because he's more of a 'give yourself a shake' type but i can't complain cos he's putting up with me!!
jxIt's a farmers life for me......:j0 -
I have persuaded my 16year old son that odd socks are cool
