Managed to get the washing up done, and did a little run in the back garden too, did 2 more lengths than I did last time so I'm pretty pleased with myself. Sizing up the next area of de-cluttering - all of those clothes that I bought as a size 14 that I'm 3 sizes away from fitting in to! I'm loath to get rid of the size 18 stuff, but I'm aiming for a size 16...I'm 5 foot 8 and not exactly a dainty build, even when I'm really thin, so it seems sensible. So, the size 14 summer clothes will wing their way to the charity shop. Well, when I get around to it...
Sad thing is I've still got my old DMs in the corner that I just can't bear to throw away, even though they're full of holes and crazy uncomfortable. I think I need some messy mojo to get rid of them!
Laurel - I can't even get into the dangerous stage yet, I need a proper old kick up the bum!

Farmers wife that cake sounds divine. Cat nice to see you back.
Iv not done a lot today apart from the tea, kitchen floor and a few dishes. The washing machine has gone nuts so Ill have to do a laundrette run.
Dog to vets for second vac should have been over a week ago but things cropped up. He is going for the chop on his bits this month also. Hope this will calm him down.
Glad to see people plodding along.0 -
Hi Messies!
CAT!!! Welcome back, great to hear from you againxxx.
GreenGoblin - Dont worry, I`m only snipping nettles where they`ve engulfed an ancient rosebush, my little asparagus patch, and some bits denying me access to the washing line. The rest can stay - and there`s loads out there! I deliberately leave large patches for the wildlife (plus thistles, dandelions & buttercups).
I`ve only planted 2 tubs of runner beans for the flowers - have put them at back of the house where I`ve hung 2 `bee hotels` on the wall!
Messy status report-
All woolly (winter) floor rugs now stashed tidy in caravan, plus `spare` cotton (summer LR), bathroom & kitchen ones. Old dead duvet cut into sections to use up as disposable Daftie-dog bed cushions. (will save a bit of washing, plus time & water use!) Spare bedroom a bit less cluttered now rugs & duvet gone.
Daftie-dog fully recovered since her funny do the other night, BTW.
LR - clean rugs on floor, not too bad really.
Kitchen - blitzed all above waist-level this am, them ran out of go. Floor is Grim though...
Bedroom - also Grim, mostly clothes to sort/put away. Now my rug-pile is out in caravan, I`ve dragged a couple of DS`s boxes away from one of the spare-room wardrobes, so could make a start on that...
Have a good day messies.
Drags self away to potter upstairs...0 -
Hi Cat
Oh its hard work today. One of those days where if I stop that will be it, I wont get going again, so I have pressed on until now!
I have:
Done all my finance spreadsheets up to date
Put away a mountain of ironing
Pulled out the moveable furniture in our office, hoovered and washed the floor, dusted the desks
Hoovered the utility and kitchen
Sorted some old magazines for recycling
Tidied away some camping stuff that was left from the weekend
Made meatballs for tea, now simmering away in the SC
I really should get out in the garden but its sooo cold I cant motivate myself to do it. I dont want to go and look at the flowerbeds too closely, I think the weeds are winning at the moment.
Glad the doggie has recovered OK Emm.
Right, time for a little tea break I think then I can do a bit more before I have to pick DS2 up from school, he is doing an after school club today.0 -
Worked out today that I've only got 12 more days secure in a job. Part trying to remember to be positive and the other part of me is probably best not spoken about.
Not managed to do anything today; I'm exhausted from work but I shall try to cook at least something for B. Might go make a start on charity shop sorting the two big vac bags of clothes under our bed. It'll be a long time before I'm a size 14 again, if ever, so it doesn't make sense to keep so much!

aww thanks for the welcome back guys!!:o YL, how are things with you and your son??? xx
Wow you all seem so busy! Well, I'm a little better than I was - off that medication and waiting to see a psychiatrist to go onto the next one, but feeling a lot better on nothing! Have been getting up AM instead of PM!! Makes the day so long though.
Helps that DD1 is at her dad's for a couple of weeks after a huge row....
Been walking for exercise, was dieting but am now trying to quit the fags so I'm off the diet. Going a bit crazy, want to keep myself busy but am not hugely motivated - been doing bits and pieces though (cleaned living room windows tonight, almost had a fit when the sun shone on them yesterday), did some washing, walked 3 miles, hoovered hall and living room, cleaned toilet - in short, about as much in one day as I'd managed in the last 3 months:D But mainly I've sat on Facebook and watched tennis (a never ending line of handsome men):p:p
MM I hope things work out okay for you ((hugs))
Emm, snookey, laurel, jps - really lovely to see you again!! And hi to everyone I haven't met. I'm the one who will always make you feel that however little you've done, compared to me you've had a super-productive day:p:p
YL - is is flipping cold isn't it?Very depressing
It's meant to be wet again here tomorrow so I'll find it really hard to drag myself out for a walk which is annoying because it passes an hour or two in the no smoking battle

I'm losing in the battle of "who's messiest" in our house again. Stuck the virtually dry laundry in the tumbly drier on Sunday just to air it. Then tipped it out onto the bed for sorting and putting away. Managed to get to the point of dividing my stuff from his - mine went on the top fo the chest of drawers, his stayed on the bed. For the last 3 nights, he's got into bed underneath the pile of his clothes. I then push all his stuff onto the floor and get into bed beside him. Then he picks it up in the morning and puts it back on the bed.
Came home from work today to find that he's put his clothes away. So no battle tonight over whether they "keep him warm" - just my messy pile on the chest of drawers that I still haven't put away yet!
OH is going to his mums for the night tomorrow so I guess I'll have to do my bit then ;-)0 -
Dividing laundry. The household task I loathe above all others. I have got a basket full in the corner of the bedroom. It's like the elephant in the room :rotfl:
I will be listing more [STRIKE]crap[/STRIKE] items on ebay this afternoon. In the meantime there is some washing up with my name on itmaybe I will stick it in the dishwasher as DH isn't here
I have had many Light Bulb Moments. The trouble is someone keeps turning the bulb off

Hi messies.
Had a sort of day off yesterday, as my wee one was going for a school trip to the zoo. I went as a mummy helper and it was great but exhausting. Had to hold onto four 5yr olds. One of the wee boys kept taking his hand away for a second and it was wet when he held on again. Eventually I realised he had a very snotty nose and was wiping it and giving me back a snotty hand!!! bit of strategic shuffling around so I got him to hold one of the other kids' hands and I held onto the 2 wee girls instead. It was lovely to share the kids' excitement though.
Today dh is off. So far, I have managed the dishes and prepped lunch (for dh ) and dinner.
Sorted the freezer and cupboards and made a list of stocks and half done a meal plan and shopping list.
Really need to get out in the garden as it is dry, but cooooold!
Hoovered the floors last night, but they could do with being mopped. Won't bother though if I'm gonna be in and out to the garden. No point. At least the floors aren't sticky........ I can't stand a sticky floor!
Was ready to do lots this morning and dh asked me to go on PC to look for a car just as he was going out. How could I resist? So, have spent the last hour and half surfing instead of housework!!! Better go and do a quick whizz round so it looks as if I have done something before he gets back!Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These
(he points to some plastic cows on the table) are very small; those (pointing at some cows out of the window) are far away...:D:D

I don`t mind sorting laundry piles, washing & hanging stuff - I just HATE the putting away bit and that`s mostly because I`ve never quite got anywhere to put everything.
HOWEVER...
Yesterday I managed to empty one wardrobe in spare bedroom.!!! One binbag of stuff for CS, one for the skip (WHY did I keep that stuff???) and several items that I`ll wear but forgot were there (it was like having a successful rummage in my own private CS!) I now have some space to hang stuff in, but need to think about what`s going in there, not just cram it in out of sight for another few years!
Today`s aims -
MUST do kitchen floor...
Trip to CS with yesterdays bag (I put it straight in the car so I wouldn`t be tempted to re-sort anything!)
Put stuff in WM to freshen my `new` old clothes!
Find the new scissors I bought a while back...saw them in bedroom last, but that could take some haystack searching....
Anything else that distracts or inspires me will be a bonus!
Have a happy day Messiesxx0
