My home is a mess
Comments

Got some more tidying up done last night in the kitchen - but there's so much stuff. My Oh refers to my tidying up as, 'shifting sh*te'. Sorry!
:rotfl:
I have tried to keep the worktops as clear as possible but where does everybody keep their stuff?! I see people who are super tidy and they have virtually nothing on their kitchen worktops. Where do they keep their 'stuff'? My cupboards are full and there's nothing more that I can (or want) to throw away, so I can't keep stuff like the mixer or toaster or tea/coffee/sugar canisters.
Maybe I just need a bigger house!0 -
Afternoon all
DS continues to [STRIKE]assist me[/STRIKE] give me a kick up the a**e regards all our mess! The landing and hallway/front door areas are STILL tidy 4 days after he did them - a minor miracle here! He took several bags of rubbish, a manky old quilt (not even good enough for pets) and 2 blinds to the tip.
Haven't done much since, but this afternoon DD (2.5) and I are going to tackle the tip in the dining room, hoover the carpet and put away ALL the toys. We have a man coming to fix the oven after tea, so I need to make the kitchen look much less like one from a hoarder/how clean type programme - although DH did tell him (he knows this chap) that our house was "a bit of a sh**hole" - what a lovely man!
I am going to keep an empty carrier bag in my pocket as I go around the house, so I can put any rubbish or dirty laundry in it and put straight in the bin or washer when it's full. My mum's really getting stuck into de-cluttering her home; she's been it at in a gentle way since dad died 3.5 years ago - I intend my home to be sorted sooner than that, but as it's taken over a decade to get this bad it may still take me until the end of the year to get things just as I want them!
Good luck to everyone else with coping with their mess, too!

I have plastic carrier bags hanging from quite a few door handles in my house, in the hope every bit of rubbish will magically make it's way there.
I'm hoping to get the kitchen cleared so I can put after pictures. I like seeing peoples photos. Anyone brave enough to share?0 -

:rotfl::rotfl: Sorry to laugh, but about as much chance as the proverbial snowball in Hell!!! I'd get fired even from the Messies! Maybe an after shot, in a few years' time?

Can't be as bad as mine! I got a reprieve today. Told my OH i'd been tidying the kitchen and I think he was looking forward to seeing it like he's never seen it before. He was due home today but his flight has been cancelled - phew!0

*sneaks in*
hello - I know I said I'd dip in and out but I didn't mean to disappear for 3 months, sorry!!
No point in even trying to catch up so I hope everyone is well....still messy here!:D0 -
Welcome back Cat! I was wondering where you'd got to! Glad you are ok.
Would you believe I drove to work through a blizzard this morning? There were 10p size blobs of sleety snow! It's more like February than May.
Still very messy here too... I'm feeling better than I have for a while, but still not motivated to get on with it - work just sucks all the energy out of me. Never mind, half term soon (sorry parents!)I believe in the freedom of spinach and the right to arm bears.

Cat! (in my head I always call you kitcat, not idea why but hey ho) Still messy here too :P
I haven't done a jot of a thing so far today, except I've been to work and got the dinner on. Will do the washing up and cram a shower in. But I think that's where it'll have to stop - still got three days to do at work and I'm dog tired (and my dog sleeps for 18 hours a day!) - feels like it should be Friday already and I just don't know how I'll get to the end of the week.
*hugs* to everyone x

I haven't done that much today messies. Been feeling very nauseas. Is that how you spell it? Since I've been off work I've forgotten how to spell. It's only been a few weeks.
I have made a good start on making a new lampshade cover for a floor lamp I bought on eBay a year ago. So that is no longer adorning the dresser! And I freecycled a bag of fabric. And Music Magpie collected a box of DVDs. Not a bad day I guess.I have had many Light Bulb Moments. The trouble is someone keeps turning the bulb off

Cat!!!!!! :j
Am in the dangerous middle stage of a demessying. I emptied the children's old dressing up wardrobe, looking for something to lend a colleague...and figured I might as well sort it out as I put things away. So far I have four piles...charity shop, donate to EYFS (Reception in old money), keep and Ebay. But those piles are on the living room floor...:o:o
Next stage is to put the board games into the empty wardrobe...ditch the shelving unit they're currently on...more floor space and lots of mess out of sight.
The only thing is...the shelving unit is due to go into The Garage of Doom . Good job it folds......:oimport this0
