Good to see you on KW. How are you doing? Sounds like you've got bits done anyway. That's gotta help.

Well done all who`ve done a bit - however little. We have to feel encouraged, and encourage each other!
Just a very quick one, have to go pick OH up from work in 5 mins...
    TODAY -
I finally got started, albeit late in the day!
    Made HM stuffing
    Snipped a few more nettles
AND - I FOUND THE BACK OF THE CARAVAN!!! YAY!!! I sorted and slung out and stowed and tidied...and got to the very back! Okay, there`s still lots more to sort - the `near`end is a bit of a bombsite, but I can do a bit more tomorrow (even if it`s raining.)
I`ve just lit a fire & put OH a beer in the fridge, to celebrate!
    Have a nice evening folksxx

    Hi all,

well done if you've managed to get something done today, unfortunately i have let the side down and not got any housework done today :o! I was away for most of the day, i had to go and collect some hatching eggs to put in my incubator but i fully intend to get stuck into a few jobs tomorrow!

FarmersWife - I don`t think you`ve let the side down at all - you`ve probably had a more productive day than any of us today, and you`ll soon have your hatchlings to show for today`s time well-spent! And I bet you & Mr Farmer had something nice for tea!

Kitty - ((HUGS)). I know how you feel. I have 2 wardrobes in `spare` bedroom, but can`t get to them to sort contents/utilise the storage space because of DS`s carp in piled-up boxes blocking the doors. Funds isn`t my problem here, it`s lack of co-operation - and I don`t push it as I CBA/ don`t feel up to having a row.

Bins are out, bird-feeders filled, had a wander round outside with Daftie-dog, and that`s it. I CAN see some progress where I`ve been nettle- snipping, but there`s still oceans of nettles untouched...
Herbs and runnerbeans look like they`re thriving (in planters/tubs etc), and bees still visiting the dandelions so they can stay awhile longer...

    Hi Emm,
If you get nettle blues I can always send you a list of why you should leave them where they are or what interesting and fun things you could do with them? Tried it once with the kids at work [and also works with friends!] (I'm a park ranger with a very unhealthy obsession about stinging nettles) - e.g. we cut this patch down and make nettle tea, this patch we'll use to make cord, this patch we'll leave for the butterflies etc. Might be fun if you've got children/ friends to help you *cough* do it for you *cough* :D Nettles gone, new skills learnt :p

Incidentally it is National Be Nice to Nettles week 16th-27th May:T
We're runninng Nettle Appreciation Day at work - they're even in Jelly Babies and Innocent Smoothies!

On the messy front planning to scrap 2 bike frames on thursday. Is it worth trying to take them to a scrap metal merchants or just to the tip? They are fairly heavy . . ..

    I`m still here...
OH fed & long since gone to bed - my HM stuffing was good, & also, I tell you quite shamelessly, were the compliments!
He`s on early shift tomorrow, and I`m going to kip on the sofa tonight because just after I got home with OH this evening my old Daftie-dog had a very loose poo (just outside the back-door) and then her back legs were all wobbly for a bit. Could be she just ate something outside here today & had belly-ache (know how WE walk funny with belly-ache?)
She seemed OK after a lie-down by the fire, and she HAS since tried to nick the catfood, which is always a good sign... still, I`ll err on the side of caution.
OH thinks maybe Daftie-dog is coming out in sympathy with me (am now getting my usual side-effects of anti-b`s - I scared myself out of the caravan twice this afternoon, and that was with the door open!!)
Still, it was a good excuse to clear the sofa AND get up more early-ish & get started in the morning!
I sleep `lighter` down here. Old Daftie-dog has nibbled a few of her biscuits, gone out and come in a couple of times, back legs `normal` for her, did a bit of a tail-wag, & now seems quite settled by the fire - I`ve put another small log on just for her really... I do love her so much, even in her daft old age. (Actually, I love ALL dogs, especially puppies and Oldies. Some folks say they love the smell of human babies, and that there is a `special` but not unpleasant smell of old humans, however well-looked after and scented - but there`s also a special smell you get with puppies, and with Old dogs, however clean - it`s not unpleasant, it`s just there, a different scent. I`ve always rather liked it. Just never took to the human baby smell that so many folks rave about!)
Daftie-dog is snoring her usual regular light snore.
I am now sufficiently reassured to get on the sofa & do likewise.
    Goodnight, God Bless allxx

There was loads of pressing housework that I could have done on Sunday but I decided to begin the day by sorting out a drawer full of recipes/recipe books. My motivation was that I was looking for a particular recipe. I threw away some recipes that I know I'll never use and I sorted 2 books out to go to the next car boot sale, leaving the drawer nice and tidy for the first time in a year or two. Into the bargain I found the recipe (an All-Bran loaf) and started to prepare it (you have to soak the ingredients overnight) and I cooked it on Monday night.

I then cleaned the kitchen sink draining board, the drainer and got rid of the tea stains from mugs. The satisfaction I got from these not so urgent jobs gave me the motivation to dust (a dreaded task) the lounge and upstairs and I almost cleared a mountain of ironing.

I'm going to set myself the task of doing some filing on Tuesday night, otherwise I'll just watch catch up tv!
  • Morning Messies!

I've just put a cake in the oven - Cappucino Cake - and thought i'd catch up with you all before i start making some scones!

footymadgal - the recipe book drawer in my house is the tidiest drawer!! I tidy it frequently to avoid doing other things!! haha!!

I'm now going to whip up some scones and then mop the floor....!!!!!

  • I have just spent this morning tidying up our wardrobes, they had got messy from us shoving things in places but it is all tidy now, and the rest of the room is too.

Going to have some lunch, and then I am going to clear out a chest of drawers we've sold on eBay so they are ready to collect. Might do some baking after that, and then it will be time to get ready for uni as there is a guest speaker at tea time which I am going in to see.

Hope everyone is having a good day :)
