    Hello messies.

Not been around for ages, sorry.

Kitty, hugs to you, me darlin' and, as others have said, the doc would have sent you to the hospital if he/she had been worried.

De-messing has come to a total standstill here. I did try, honestly I did but, with the plumbers cutting tiles for the bathroom, there's just a never-ending layer of dust on everything. Plus, despite the covers over the carpets, they're walking in and out of the house and garage all day, and the floors none to clean. However, good news is that the bathroom refurb is very nearly finished and looking good! :)

I have been in a grumpy mood today. We were supposed to be camping this weekend but with rain/frost/gales forecast OH said we should wait a couple of weeks. He is right of course but it still made me grumpy.

So in a grumpy mood I set about tidying up our bedroom and sorting out some clothes and other stuff to go to the tip. I finally got rid of the wall clock we were given as a wedding present that we were reluctant to part with for sentimental reasons. Its been sitting in the corner of our bedroom for about six months. It was trendy when we got married 15 years ago but I know we will never put it back on the wall. It doesnt even keep very good time any more so I didnt really want to give it to the charity shop. I actually felt a bit bad as I chucked it into the skip but it had to go.

Also managed to get 3 loads of washing done and dried outside and a bit of general hoovering and dusting done. Oh and I have also given the fridge a good scrub out.

Kitty - hope the test results come back OK and you get things sorted. Try not to worry too much.

I really need to get back on here and get focused, have been letting things slip a bit just lately.

Bearcub I know the feeling when the bathroom is in the middle of a refurb. Ours took two weeks and the dirt gets everywhere.Worth it when its finished though.

Hi bearcub welcome back! I know all about that layer of dust, and I haven't even got the excuse of refurb! I'm feeling wobbly again with my hormones (sorry to keep harping on about it) so am even less inclined to de-messy.

Edit: hugs to you too snookey.

  • Hello again Messies. I`ve missed being able to pour my woes out here, and I`ve missed being able to take a few mins to add my attempts to put in my bobsworth of solidarity/comfort /support...((HUGS)) to all doesn`t come near what I`d like to say, and I`m trying to keep this post short as poss as I`m truly wellied now after last couple of longdays, but need to wind down now as my head is too full to sleep, tomorrow is `catch-up` day, so I`m not attempting responses to all the posts I`ve read ..

EXCEPT - KITTY - I have to say this...folks here have already posted very sensibly,. You had ECG & blood tests. Anything urgent would have had you hospitalised there & then, but that was not the case. Now they`ll dot the I`s & cross the t`s, which is also good. And folks will tell you not to worry - easier said than done, but worry is debilitating, and not easy to switch off, when Drs say the `H` word folks DO generally tend to worry, and they shouldn`t...thorough checks & diagnosis or ruling out of anything cardiac that needs treatment (however minor) is thankfully a priority nowadays, and it`s a lot more common than most people think for symptoms to get investigated and monitored. It`s easy to say `don`t worry`, but it really is the best advice anyone could offer.
  • I`m still not `unwound`, so before I`m ready to crumble....

JPS - thanks for kind thoughts.
Last 2 days have been madly hectic at work, but underlying the usual mutual camaraderie thing is Deep Sadness, losing a great colleague soon, & the impending vacuum is unleashing the most unsettling `ward politics` I`ve seen there in over a decade. The `normal` routines go on, and I`ve been thankful to be engrossed in some of the hectic work, it`s all very `hands on` at the mo, but when you go on a break and hear how the breaktime chat has changed...
like a ship in uncharted waters, crew feeling jumpy... not a nice time here at all. I`m always regarded as the `cheerful` one...apparently! so am doing my best to keep it up, I believe morale matters (that`s why they think I`m the cheerful one!) I`m not finding it hard to be my `normal` self with patients/visitors, but in the sluice or on a break or those between times I could just sit down and cry if there was time... so I suppose it`s a good job there`s no time for such self indulgence then,
and at home there`s no time for it either. OH really IS a supportive old dearie (LONG gone upstairs, Bless`im, fed & watered & off to bed as he`s working tomorrow) his ward situation is no picnic either at the mo, so don`t want to wail to him, just need to wail it out of my system before I get back in there on Sunday again.
So sorry to be wailing & moaning on here, have to somewhere & it`s too cold & wet here to go out & howl at the moon!!! Our `pack` is in a bad way - that`s the best analogy for the work situation!

Home Messy status report - moderate, except kitchen. LR is very hairy again, but NOT as badly trashed in my absence as I expected.

Thanks for `listening,`I`ve now unwound sufficiently to crawl off to bed and actually sleep, too totally wellied to fret now, (who am I kidding?)
    God Bless all. xx
drags self off to eat some bananas & custard in bed, very quietly of course.....

Hi, just wanted to say Emm that being expected to be the "cheerful one" sounds a bit grim when things arent going well and I guess you carry a lot of everyone elses troubles on your shoulders. If you need to vent on here feel free - although hopefully now you are tucked up in bed sound asleep.

I have been wide awake since 4am. Too much going around in my head, DS2 going abroad on a school trip next week, DS1 having hospital treatment the week after, the fact that I have overspent this month - (even though its mostly been on necessary stuff), the need to finish the decorating, the trip to visit my brother thats coming up and how DS1 will be, the fact that we have been invited to a wedding early June and the kids have nothing to wear, (need to get on ebay) etc etc.

Hubby wants us to have a nice day out today to cheer me up (bless him). All I can think is that we need to do something cheap!

No chance of sleeping now, the birdies are singing their hearts out in the trees outside and I am not the least bit tired. More coffee I think.

Have a good day everyone. x
  • YL, what about a DVD and PJ day?that is something nice and cheap, must have something like popcorn or icecream or both plus chocolate, bring duvets into the living room and chill out for a bit as a family watching those films you get/buy but never watch. I would love to do that and I would watch ALL the Harry Potter films............

Of course if you are an outdoorsy family (And with two boys you might be!) that might be a really crap suggestion! :rotfl:

Lol I don't do outdoors too much of that :j:j
