The morello is gorgeous laurel - do you get cherries off that? You've probably already said but I can't remember. The cross stitch is amazing, well done!

Tired and grumpy this morning, roll on half term!

Washing Machine is going out of action today - OH is taking up the utility room floor (can't get used to calling it that, it used to be the kitchen!) today to do... something! I really should pay more attention to what he does all day! There was something about pipes, something about insulation, something about re-inforceing the floor so we can have 2 washing machines in there. All I know is that for the next few days I'm without WM and must balance on rafters to get to the bathroom (other side of utility room to the rest of the house!) Note to self, no drinks after dark for fear of having to get up to pee in the night!

I hung the bedding out in the rain yesterday morning, for the simple reason that we were going out and I had nowhere else to put it. Leaving it in the machine was a no-no and couldn't think what else to do with wet washing. Luckily the rain stopped while we were out and by the time we got home it was dry. Must have more faith in the british weather! OH decided to give the bedroom the deep clean that I was promising while I was making dinner so that's one job I can tick off without making any effort. Tried to reward him with rhubarb crumble but it didn't turn out so good. Will try again tonight with the rest of the rhubarb.

Laurel - no wonder you ache. I'd hurt after trying to sort 1 tree. 5 would definitely kill me. I am strictly in the role of labourer when it comes to garden stuff - I definitely don't see gardening as a pleasure but I envy those that do. Maybe when we get to the point where we're planting stuff in the garden it will start to make more sense to me. In the meantime, I think the next job for us is replacing the boundary fence so my task will be keeping the old-boy neighbour sweet while OH gets on with it. I think digging post-holes will be the easier job!

Thanks, all. My mum loves Hummel figurines...my dad used to buy them for her when they were courting-and that's her favourite :). It isn't a great photo, but in real life it looks better than the one on the packet-I've got better fabric/stitch coverage, somehow. (Let's put it down to skill, eh? :p). Even dd loves it, and you can guess how much the average 17 year old is into twee pictures of chubby-cheeked cherubs in lederhosen...:rotfl:

Next job...a Christmas stocking I started in...ummm.....1996, probably .

Jps-the tree set about four cherries last year (and it's about 4m from a wild cherry, so pollination shouldn't be a problem). Needless to say, the birds snaffled all of them...It is on a north-facing wall, which is obviously fine for the tree, but I don't think it encourages the bees...

Whoa Kitty I want some of what you're on! And yes, their loss... hope the next one's yours!

I'm still feeling weird (it's my age loves) and now I'm having strange food cravings... but there's zero chance of being preggers!! At least the horrible down grumpy feelings have gone off for now.

Hope all messies are well and happy - take care all.

Hi everyone. Wel Iv cleaned the back yard ,I say its a yard but its more like a small garden as its got an area with soil, lol. Anyway had to pick up the rubbish that the dog had strewn everwhere. Also brushed a ton of soil off the flags.
Cleaned the kitchen and hall. Oh has had a rush of energy and cleaned the livingroom so its now pristine.
Iv washed some mats that Id left in the back. Iv washed them twice so far as they were that dirty. Ill look in a min to see if they need a third.
Its going to pour down tomorrow so notsure what Ill do in terms of cleaning.
Im off to change our bedding and get a shower.
    See you soon, take care.

I got out of work at a decent time last night for once, and went home full of all sorts of inspiration to clean the kitchen and do lots of great domestic-goddess typ activities. Arrived home to find OH had switched the water off to do some plumbing and hadn't even kept enough in the kettle for a cup of tea. Completely threw me and I couldn't figure out what I could do while he was finishing off. Ended up curled up on the sofa catching up on all the carp TV I've got on the hard-drive that OH doesn't like watching, and struggled to get myself moving to even make dinner once he'd done with the plumbing. Can't believe how much a simple thing like not being able to have a cuppa discombobulated me.

Hopefully he'll be done under the utility room floor tonight so that he can put the flooring back down so we don't need to "walk the plank" to get to the bathroom anymore!
