Snookey I think crochet is easier than knitting in some ways, I find it much quicker to make things. Once you get used to the basics, you'll be flying! There's a thread on OS called (I think) "anyone for crochet" or something like that. I read it now and again and it's really good.
I'm a bit tired still, and in worky mode which means I get very little done at home but at least I am now finding time to post here in the evenings - in the winter things got so bad I just got home, ate and conked out.I believe in the freedom of spinach and the right to arm bears.

Morning Messies! (only just!)
Hugs(((()))) to all, lots of exciting things going on out there with weddings and babies - enjoy the anticipation time as well!
There seems to be a general thing of some of us getting going, and running out of steam - maybe it`s something to do with the weather...?
Well that`s my theory, or rather, my excuse!
I HAVE spent a bit of time each day forcing myself to de-clutter a bit.
Result - one sack of rubbish, 2 for charity shop. Still the tip of the iceberg.
Also several loads of washing, due to stuff being sorted from piles and found needful of `freshening up`, but most of it is hanging around in doorways now, looks like a Chinese laundry here!
On the plus side, I`ve sorted bags & boxes and thus exposed a fair area of upstairs carpet - enough now to make it worth taking Henry Hoover to it. Must change his bag first, as downstairs gave him severe indigestion yesterday!
Drags self away to play with Henry...0 -
Thank you all for the warm welcome back
Snookey - we will have been together almost 19 years by the wedding day
GillyBean - puppy is a Border Terrier/Jack Russell Cross - called Bailey
All suggestions for the wedding planning much appreciated.
Last night you all inspired me - the kitchen was blitzed, floor mopped, windows cleaned in there - it was a pleasure to come down to this morning.
All the best

gillybean -if you love wedding planning so much, will you please plan mine?! OH and I have been engaged for a year but have done absolutely NOTHING about getting married as neither of us have any interest whatsoever in weddings. If it was up to us we'd have popped down to the registry office one afternoon and got it out of the way but that would disappoint our respective families so much we've agreed we've got to do *something* - the family will just have to accept that it isn't going to be what they think of as a wedding!
Latest plan is that we'll have a mid-week registry office ceremony with family present followed by a party at home at the weekend which can double as reception and house-warming. This plan works because we need to complete the building work on the house first so wedding planning can be put off for at least another 2 years!
As for de-messying, not going to happen at the moment! Realised last night that there is nothing for it - tumbly drier is going to have to come out of storage and into operation. OH keeps complaining that his "clean" t-shirts smell of wet dog. Realised that it is because they take too long to dry around the house when we adopt the chinese laundry approach with airers all around and so they've been developing that sat-in-the-machine-wet-for-3-days smell even when they're hung out immediately. Reckon its because there isn't enough heat in the house because the dehumidifier is running all day every day. As the forecast is for p'ing down for the foreseeable future there'll be no hanging out outside until long after we've run out of clean pants to wear so I'm gonna have to do something. I figure the tumbly drier for a couple of hours probably won't cost a whole lot more than constant dehumidifiying so hopefully won't upset me MSE sensibilities too much!
Might be inspired to actually put clothes away if they are dry so maybe it will have some demessying side effects. But I'm not holding my breath! Might do a bit of cleaning in between wash loads but still feel like being on strike so probably won't ;-)0 -

So Aston - with pleasure, when I've had the baby I'm seriously thinking of doing a event management/ wedding planning course as I love it so much. Seriously let me know if you need a hand.
Kitty - how did the interview go?
Well once again I've done nothing, although I did go for a cut and colour after I found an offer on Facebook for half price, so had cut, full head foils and blow dry for £38
Must make an effort tomorrow and do something lol0 -
