    Thanks Laurel!

Hugs kitty, hope you are doing ok. Buffy, sorry to hear the puppies are causing stress... hope they settle down soon.

Welcome Hayley and don't worry about waffling, I do it all the time.

I'm having tomatoes and cheese on toast for brunch... had to share that, it's absolutely delicious!

    Morning Messies!
JPS - that cushion looks brilliant, and I know what you mean about `when it frays` - I think the frayed ones look nicer than the rolled-edge ones. Lots of work there, but you must be well-chuffed with it!
Buffy - hope the date went well.
Bathrooms - mine`s only small, but that`s not a bad thing here, less space for folks to trash! Bath & sink were always plain white, but the tiles (black & white) were the problem...until I found some `penguin` shower curtains, and decided that RED was the answer! Red flooring & mats, red towels & white towels, black panelling on side of bath..I still don`t want to change the colours there, and the black & white tiles have stayed over 2 decades!
Well done Hayley & SqueakySue - keeping on top of things is the hardest bit, I think!
Bearcub - your visit to the nursing home brings back happy memories of the years when I worked in a home. Some of the folks may not know whats going on, but they knew SOMETHING was! Also, some may have been quite aware but unable to show or express that, but your visit will have added something to their quality of life, interest, and pleasure that day. (I loved the reactions to old hymns too) Keep up your good work there!
Buffy - puppy-stress is the very BEST kind of stress though! Hope they settle down a bit for you.

Off to work in a min. All day today & tomorrow then 3 off. Spent the last 2 days shopping, washing, and an endless losing battle of putting away the results of both activities. Plus dropping off eater-eggs, visitors turning up here to drop off same for me to pass on to eldest DGD and to DD`s . Am I the Easter Bunny, or maybe just one of his little helpers!?
Waffling? I love to read waffle, PLEASE keep it up!
    Drags self off to work...

Afternoon all, I have had a productive day, painting and crafting with kids, 2 loads of washing and drying, one pile of ironing, tidy kitchen, washed dishes, fed everyone brek and lunch, washed more dishes, cleaned up the painting crafting carnage, hoovered and mopped whole downstairs and finally hoovered stairs! Feeling a bit low on energy and a bit blue today, must be my hormones so quite happy with all I have done when I just felt like vegging on couch all day!

Planning on a movie with kids later while I do ironing then make a start on eBay listings when they are in bed seeing as OH is out for the evening I will have my pick of the tv while I do it:j

    Evening messies.

Well done, Squeakysue. I've huge respect for someone who can entertain children with the messiest of activities, and do so much de-messing, all when you're feeling under par. :T

    Emms, the Easter Bunny! :)

Thanks for the encouragement. I visit this particular home every 3 or 4 weeks, so I've got to know most of the residents fairly well. The vast majority have fairly serious levels of dementia, but there are a couple of men (one of 90, the other 99!) who are still pretty 'with it'. One of those, OH and I used to take out occasionally but, sadly, he's not able to walk well now, but he always has the attitude that I'm there to see him and no one else. I witnessed something wonderful the last time I was there. There was a lady and gentleman, sitting having a really good conversation - seemingly. When I got close, both were chatting to each other, but neither of them was actually making much sense at all, and they certainly weren't talking to each other, but at each other, bless 'em. :rotfl:

Wonderful weather today, so what did I do? Not a lot, really, except put fertiliser round the roses, and make a cheesecake for a village event tomorrow. Oh, and spent 20 minutes taking to dd2 on the phone. Of course, the last was the most important of all! ;)

Thanks Emm, it was kind of hard work but very therapeutic (why does that word look like I've spelled it wrong?)

Well done on the demessying and productive day squeakysue!

Bearcub I once worked for the summer as an activities co-ordinator for a dementia home, and found that the residents almost all had great capacity for fun and mischief - there's a lot of sadness involved with dementia but there is also some happiness and people like you bring it to them.

I loved doing patio gardening with them - we grew some tomatoes and there was enough for everyone to have cheese and tomatoes on toast (the most popular request) a couple of times... they were so pleased with themselves!

I'm feeling very hormonal at the moment, emotions all over the place. I've done a bit of my quilting, almost finished assembling the top of the quilt now. I just can't bring myself to start any serious demessying yet, but I have done a few loads of washing and am slowly uncovering the boxroom floor.

I've also treated myself to some medicinal chocolate and am in bed with the laptop and the Planet Earth dvd - bliss!

I'm here Kitty! My house isn't sparkling though, far from it... it's a worse mess than usual as I'm still feeling too hormonal to do much about it. I haven't even done the dishes today, very unusual for me.

I have hoovered the car and (not at all MSE but I had a serious case of CBA) took it through the car wash - for the first time in nearly 2 years!! I had forgotten what colour it was.

This was all necessary because I have to drive for the family over the weekend at some point and the car was just filthy inside and out.

I also had a quick mooch around the charity shops and got a superb 100% cotton double duvet cover to use as backing for my quilt for a fiver. The other side will also make another lovely quilt top, pieced up with other fabric.

yay for the duvet cover :) i love getting a bargain in charity shops, some of them seem so expensive now, theres loadsa charity shops here, but the stuff is either too expensive or just minging .... i dont understand when they put stained/dirty/broken things out to sell

i love car washes :) i used to cost my parents a fortune when i was a kid, whenever i was good and they asked me what i wanted as a treat i used to say carwash ........... i was a strange child LOL

:rotfl:It never wears off does it? I have to admit to loving the car wash myself :D Huge hugs back, hope the depression lifts soon.

Those cakes look gorgeous and I love those bunnies! I bet your DS had a blast making them.

I'm a great believer in medicinal chocolate and have a new favourite... the Swiss chocolate bar from Aldi (think toblerone - it's actually nicer than toblerone though!)

I'm going to have another play with my quilting now, see you when I have another break...
