Evening messies.
Kitty, I'm so pleased for you that you have your new cooker. Looks as if you've got the hang of it pretty quickly. And what a great prezzie from your mum and dad!I suspect that you're a real girly girl, and quite like pink!
Emms, your scenario with the drains is very familiar. Shortly before Christmas, OH went out in the garden and found the path down the side of the houe a really odd colour. Turned out that a piece of brickwork had fallen off the side of the drain and blocked the outlet. Yuk!
Good news about the windfall, yorkshirelass.
Have had my hair cut, so had to colour it, so had to clean the bathroom. Have also dusted the lounge, most of the dust being pollen from flowers that dd1 sent me last week. Bit embarrassing, really, that it's taken me that long to clear it away. Oh, and made a loaf, or at least, the BM did!0 -

Hi Kitty. Try to keep yourself busy, but don't get over tired. Try to focus on anything but yourself, although I know that's far from easy, once the lights are off, and your mind starts working overtime. (Yes, I've suffered with depression, too.)
Dust? It's that stuff that you keep wiping away, and it's come back half an hour later - a really persistent annoying visitor!
DD1 used to make candles many years ago. Sadly, despite their mother's best efforts, neither of them are into crafts of any kind, although DD1 is a very keen cook - more than her mother is!0 -
Just checking here, not been here for a while. house is a mess and work is a night mare. I keep thinking a weekend is going to change my life..............hmmmm. no not yet.
so i will struggle through this week and hope I survive.
Hugs to those in need
xxxNevertheless she persisted.0 -
Sounds like you need a hug too Buffy. I agree I often think a weekend will somehow make a difference but it rarely does!0

Umm, can I get a hug please? The social have decided to put my boys on the child-at-risk register, because of the state of this small flat (The place might be a dump but it almost seems that its the size she has an issue with)
I was put forward to the social because my therapist thought they would be really supportive, instead its comments like, oh I see you havent hoovered (no thats what the carpet looks like when it HAS been hoovered, its been down since 1991) and you are being very slow... Yeah, clinical depression?
So thinking of putting my notice in at work, because it looks like I need to crack on with this full time, but its the only time I see people ...0 -
Adela hopefully you will get the right help from social services. Putting the children on the at risk register is not the end of the world. This way they should be able to put support in place. Also finding a more suitable place for you all to live.
Yorkshire Lass fantastic news on your finances.'
Kitty my mouth is watering for those muffins.0 -
When they popped round we were in the middle of baking, the kids were covered in chocolate (just licked the bowl faces) I forgot, chocolate is used to cover bruises too by some mums. (So I washed it all off before they left lol)
I dont see any support coming, they certainly havent suggested any. Ho Hum, keep on keeping on0 -
Oh Adela! (((((())))))) That's harsh... (edit-the register)
What does your dh have to say about it?import this0 -
Hugs buffy and Adela, and anyone I've missed by only skim reading the thread. Bit low here too, but still counting my blessings. I'll soon be able to potter in the garden again and I'm gradually building my skills in quilting.
Hospital visit this weekend and Mother's day, but we're going to have a day out in the Easter hols instead of on Sunday.
Pollen dust was there a week? ONLY a week?!I believe in the freedom of spinach and the right to arm bears.
