My home is a mess

I have just stumbled across this thread out of curiosity really and am just the opposite I hate a mess. I work full time 9-5pm have three children albeit two over 18 and one 11 year old and find that I do keep on top of the housework, although I am in reasonably good health, I actually do some housework before leaving in the morning and at lunchtime as I do work five minutes from home luckily. I have just been brought up this way and could not subject my children to living in a mess, although I couldn't myself sit in a room that looked messy, I would have to get up and clean it0

I totally agree with you abigailflo... I love it when my house is clean and tidy and there's no mess... in reality, it never actually reaches that state in entirety - but whatever unmessy state I manage to achieve, it just won't stay that way, and I'm obviously missing the necessary gene to motivate me!
There are as many reasons for us being messy as there are people who are messy... sometimes my reasons are good and, well, reasonable... and sometimes I'm just a lazy, messy, burger.I believe in the freedom of spinach and the right to arm bears.

rosalie, I just did a quick search and the first thing that came up for me was pasta sauce to use up triangles... sounds good! I guess you could also freeze them, and use them up another time? Although if you're like me, there's no room in the freezer...
I have decided to do as you said and freeze the rest. That sounds a really good idea about the pasta sauce, I never thought about that. I don't think I would buy Dairylea to cook with but I don't like wasting food so will find a use for it rather than throw it away.0 -

I think you have a good reason to be messy at the moment JP because you are/have been poorly.
As far as subjecting my children to a mess it is the other way round here-they subject me to a mess!
Whilst I would like my house to be tidier I wouldn't want to subject my children to the life my cousin had. If she dared to so much as squash a cushion she got told to puff it up when she got up. She didn't play with her dolls, just lined them up on the sofa. The house was really clean and tidy but she didn't have any where near the fun we had as children because she couldn't get messy, couldn't get dirty, everything had to be just so.
The irony is my Mum said my aunt was one of the untidiest people she had ever met before she left home.0 -
Oh Messies,
I have missed you guys, work has been mental and I promised myself today would be the day I tidied up my room! I haven't and I need to.
Hugs all round. I WILL report back later I promise.
xxxNevertheless she persisted.0 -
Hi all
I used the OS boards last year and followed the flylady thread. Then I returned to work full-time in September and since then my house has gone down hill quickly:o
What with me trying to find away to manage my M.E whilst working full-time and having a OH and two children, who all appear to have cleaning phobia's. As well as two dogs who think the phrase bring the outside in means that they need to bring as much of the local field back with them as possible on a daily basis.
So as you can imagine I'm fighting a uphill battle and really lossing the will to bother as no sooner do I get somewhere done than it looks like a dirty messy hovel.0 -
Hi all, hope your all well!! my house is still messy!!
Starting to feel a bit more like myself so hopefully things are on the up. I am going into a splint tomoz and starting hand exercises so we will see how they will go. LAST night my arm was a bit uncomfortable and itchy and i was able to pull the half cast off just to make it more comfy for a while, which did work.
Anyway of course I just had to look at the arm didnt I.....stitches look fine (dissolving ones which is fantastic!)but my poor arm looks gross, I had a swelling right where wrist meets hand which was the tumour and that has now gone BUT now i have about a 2 inch hard hard swelling about an inch away from where tumour was further up my arm.Its obviously where the bone graft has gone in,i can only assume the bone graft gradually settles down? Yuck!! Wish I hadnt looked now!! Ive got 4 weeks till I go to see surgeon for my follow up so I either hope it goes down a bit by then or perhaps this is how its supposed to look!!
Hugs again to all those who need them and glad to hear you are recovering JP, take care all!!0 -
jacci glad to hear the arm is recovering well - I don't know much about bone grafts... actually I know nothing at all about them! I hope it settles down for you.
I'm restless and lazy at the same time. I'm just so weird like that sometimes. I want to be utterly lazy to recharge my batteries, but I keep stressing about small things, wriggling around or jumping up and simply can't rest properly. I suppose if I picked a project and got on with it I'd feel great, but then part of me is saying no, just use this (rare) opportunity to have a few days of complete rest. Sigh.I believe in the freedom of spinach and the right to arm bears.
