    Afternoon Messies.

Rummer, good to hear you're feeling brighter. Sometimes we don't realise how heavy we are until we try to pick ourselves up. So pleased to hear that your OH is supportive, and boo, hiss and  to the person who upset you! Until there's a emoticon punch, that'll have to do! ;)

Emm, you and your OH are wonders. I have the utmost respect for people who work dificult shifts, more for those who work in the health field, and even more for those who do both! Love the nipping in the bud > pruning. :T Very clever.

Jacci, well done for giving up smoking after all that time, and I'm so glad your scare turned out to be nothing nasty. My YD has just given up smoking - meds she was on made her feel ill every time she smoked, so she had some unintentional help.

Went into town this morning to look at bathroom suites (can life get more exciting? ;)), and picked out what we'd like. Now have to contact a plumber and find out if it's feasible.

Have just used the preview option. Reading back on yesterday's posts, I realised just howe many typos I made. :o

fine here - are you sure you haven't gone funny?:p

Productive session with CPN, going to up my tabs to maximum dosage, and some other possible news which I'll hang fire on just now :)

Tidied living room - well, as good as it's going to get today anyway. Haven't decluttered surfaces except the floor. I thought when we got the new printer/scanner on the pc desk, that would reduce the available surface for clutter. Nope. The printer/scanner IS an available surface:o

Lol - posts are back to normal now and there's never been owt normal bout me - ask DH, he thinks I'm very unusual!!! :p
Glad the CPN visit went well Cat and if its any consolation our printer is another surface to hold "stuff" too.

I've tried to teach DD how to knit but as she is left handed and I'm right it was a disaster  so she's going to ask Nana who is also left handed, Nana taught me and I'm right handed - can you guess how long it put me off knitting for :rotfl:

I've got the knitting bug again but as I'm uselss at it I can only do things that are REALLY easy [like scarves] so one of my challenges for this year is to take on something a bit more advanced - more stuff laying around then.:D

Kids tea is done so I'm off to do some knitting and try to forget about the piles of ironing that need to be done that are now covering 2 armchairs and I need to do them cos its stuff like uniform for kids and DH's work stuff but I'm gonna try really hard to ignore it:rotfl:

I need to vent a wee bit - sorry :( My bipolar friend is in a bad way, missing his new girlfriend/long term platonic friend who lives abroad, keeps crying and texting me, he said sorry I know you have enough !!!! right now and I had to say yes I'm really sorry but today, I do. So he said "fair enough"in a funny way, or maybe i'm imagining it. I'm annoyed, can't help it - know I'm not being a good friend but need to concentrate on what my kids are going through at this time!!:(
  • Evening all

Sorry, havent read through properly, hope I havent missed anything important.

Glad things went well Cat. Helen, you ignore that ironing. Knitting sounds far more restful.

Had an appointment with sons psychologist this morning at 9am. Conversation with OH at 8.15:

Me: Will you give me a hand to tidy the kitchen before we go out?
OH: Err, yeah, err, what do you want tidying then?
Me: Well. How about cereal packets to go back in cupboard, bread to go back in bread bin, jam and milk to go back in fridge, overflowing bin to empty, breakfast pots to go in the dishwasher, washing up bowl to empty, school books and assorted gubbins to move off kitchen table or at least tidy into a pile? That'll do for a start.
OH: Right. Picks up milk, "shall I put this in the fridge"?
    Me: Sigh.

OK I love my hubby to bits but honestly. Domesticated he is not.

Going to kick DS2 off the XBox now, he has been on it for far to long, and I am then going to put my feet up. Been a busy day doing lots of things but nothing very productive on the tidying/cleaning front.

Being a good friend doesn't mean you have to give all the time; you do have enough on your plate. If he is upset then that's his problem. Try not to feel guilty and send him a text as normal when you have time. :)

The mice (for there is now much more than one) are driving me mad. They were playing in the bedroom last night. But the kids dad wont let me do anything about them... well was allowed humane traps but the mice ignore them. I am not myself, I am just shattered!
  • Adela - what did you use to bait your humane traps? I've heard that peanut butter is good for this as it's pungent and mice love it. I always had to hide mine in corners before the mice would go into them.

Two kittens are still in residence - CPL don't foster kittens in our area, and I couldn't bear to think of them being pts. One is calming down nicely and will let me stroke her, although not sure about other members of the family.

The other is much less approachable (at least without armour and chain mail gloves) so think this one will be a bit more of a challenge. OH has said that they can stay (temporarily) but they are totally my responsibility (he's already been bitten and scratched). Am I a soft touch or what.:rotfl:

Fortunately I've years of cat keeping experience so working with little hissing spitting balls of fur isn't something that phases me. Won't help the house to become any tidier though ;)
