Oooh now I feel completely inadequate. Her home is spotless, she bakes, she does crafts with the children, she's organised and she blogs.

I thought my home was reasonably tidy until I saw this, maybe my idea of tidy isn't all that tidy after all.:rotfl:

Back to the drawing board, and I must pull my socks up and get organised, after the glass of Glenmorangie for the shock, you understand:D

I really did not want to look at this link and forcibly restrained myself from peeking at it - ( my 2 sisters in law already do a really good job letting me know how inadequate I am in the house cleaning stakes) - anyway, curiousity got the better of me and I'm just after having a look - and I am so relieved to see that her baking tin for the pizza looks as if it needs a bit of a scrub ;)- well perhaps not just as bad as mine but it didn't look perfect!!!! As for the rest of it - she is organised!
Can be a strange time of year right now - full of memories, good and bad. Wishing everyone peace and contentment.

I wouldn't worry about trying to compete with someone like that. I never could having 3 young daughters and 2 cats and an OH who can be really messy too ;)
I agree that she has to be an alien. If that was my house then the tree would be covered with littlies craft bits and bobs from over the years and their artwork would be plastered somewhere and they certainly wouldn't just have 4 little boxes of toys :rotfl:hidden away in a very neat cupboard.......I just like looking at these blogs and wondering to myself if there are people really like that? I guess there are but I myself will never be one. I feel right at home here with you messies and that 'lived in' feel :T
Today I really should get something done, however OH is sleeping after his 12 hour night shift and I am trying to keep the girls fairly quiet.... HAHA as if that always happens. The 2 year old is in the habbit of screaming about things and giggling and running around the house in her nappy only! The 6 year old encourages her /sigh.

Can't let the cats in either as they eat then go and jump on the bed, so they are looking pitifully at me through the window as I type :(. They have food and a little warm place out there so not all bad. Plus the weather is quite mild and not raining for once.

Don't get me started on the garage or craft room. I need to get rid of stuff in the gargage put there to go either to the tip or to charity shops. Putting off tip because it is about 6 miles away and the car is having woork done on it over the last few months (can't go too far in it) and the charity shopsare all on walking streets with no parking near and I have loads to take ! Was thinking of getting one of them to collect so might sort that out in 2012. The craft room has ll my stuff in there but is the box room and tiny anyway. There is a 'linen' wardrobe for all the duvets, sheets etc and my craft material is at the bottom, a chest of drawers , a box unit full of books and stuff, a desk + chair and floor covered in other stuff plus craft bits to sort :D It's getting smaller by the day ! Oh and a painting to finish stood on an easel on the desk...must find some me time.

Would like to sort the girls room too (they share 1 bedroom) but can't with OH asleep. Will have to wait for schooldays to return so little one can be looked after by OH while I tackle it, gonna be a day to do I think and it never stays tidy! This time I am going to move some toys out and do a rotation but need to clear a garage space to store stuff :rotfl::rotfl:it's a neverending circle....

After lunch will get on with it. Need to make something yummy that goes with my diet plan. Having main meal at lunchtime so will have to plan more , especially if I need to SC something.

    Will catch up later :grinheart

:) Afternoon messies, I'm a bit late out of the starting gate today due to being right poorly with a cold (the T Pratchett novel I was reading in my dressing-gown was purely medicinal, as was the chocolate, naturellment).

I've just had a quick snout at the Imperfect blog link and decided I like the idea of stashing the baubles in eggboxes and this will be stolen henceforth and deployed inside the ratty cardboard box labelled Xmas Decs. Amazing how many decades you can keep a lightly-used cardboard box in the loft.

I grinned a little at the news of the burglar (not in a malicious way) and of making excuses for the state of the place to tradesman. I once spent 18 months as a lodger to a busy Mum of 3 small children. Because I worked split-shifts, I was usually the one home when the meter-reading man came. Her meter was in the Cupboard of Doom under the very steep stairs, sort of in the acute angle behind the lowest steps, with the door at the tall angle and 3 cubic meters of tightly-packed carp between the door and the meter.

:o:p Naturally, being the lodger, I couldn't go pawing thru her things so it had to stay unread. Poor bloke got a bit exasperated by the 5th time he saw me but I could only shrug and say; "Sorry, mate, I'm just the lodger."

:DHey, evil thought, perhaps anyone could pretend to be the lodger in their own home and thus abdicate responsibilty?!

    :jGood Morning:j

Ladies I have a confession :o. I am officially turning into my mother . When I was young the mantra "Start the year as you mean to go on." was drummed into me and as a result I have to have the house as clean and tidy as I can physically get it before midnight so as a result..........

I am officially a domestic goddess! Got up this morning and I haven't stopped until now :D. Last night OH had the boys around again, bless them they all come back to their parents for the holiday as they are scattered around the UK and almost every evening they congregate here to drink tea (showing their age :rotfl:) and talk about nothing. Shame they don't tidy after themselves!

So far I have focused on the living room by taking down the xmas decs and moving the furniture back to its rightful place which I such a relief! I do love my home and it is heaven having everything back in its place (all be it under a pile of clutter :rotfl:). Then I hoovered and polished all the surfaces. Just sifting through a pile of papers for recycling and then it is on to the kitchen. Although I have got the washing machine running already ;).

So I must depart and continue my quest for perfection :)

(do not quote my smugness when I come back in a few hours having done nothing :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:)

I had hope for this room a couple of days ago, but DD needs somewhere to dump the stuff she's having to move from the spare bedroom. And there's the ironing of course. There's always ironing...:o

Hope it's making everyone feel loads better about themselves :) Well I can't stay here for more than 5 minutes, I need to press on - first, charity shop and then FF for soft drinks for tonight, then my bedroom ...yikes! hugs to all xxx

forgot to say, I'd love to hear the firemen story Frugal :)
  • Lost my job. Don't know what to do. Don't even know why I'm saying this really...but it was because of the fibro. Thought it was all sorted out...I'm devestated :(
