I have sometimes waited till my dad has come down, then asked him to dispose of decomposing things in the salad drawer:o

This confessing lark's addictive isn't it? I would have made a very good Catholic!:p

off to make a start on the floordrobe now :)
  • have left things in the fridge at work and denied ownership when found by some unsuspecting soul who turned a funny shade of green when inspecting the contents.

Left my lunch in my work bag and didn't remember till Christmas eve. I didn't know bananas could go that brown or smell SO bad. And the sandwich.hmmm. interesting science experiment if i was 14.

Have binned containers. ermmm. Bought clothes on the way home from work to avoid washing. Left a porridge soaked saucepan in the sink for about a week.

oooo I once made a stew in the slow cooker, was so proud of my little self. How old style am I? I thought. Also made a bread pudding - used up two loaves, left it in the oven to cool....................COMPLETELY FORGOT about both for about a week and half till the Bread pudding began to smell. Now getting rid of both of them, that was tricky!

(this was whilst Mum was in Florida, I didn't cook much whilst she was away!!)
    Nevertheless she persisted.

soooo tired - up at 10 after about 5 hours sleep, done dishes, swept kitchen floor, poured bleach down loo, dressed, coffee, and soon off to dump/Mr T/Arg*s. Binned soup tin which DD1 had left on worktop RIGHT next to the bin after coming in at 4am, muttering profanities to myself as I did it.
Sorely tempted to buy a carpet cleaner if I can get one in the sales.
Hugs all, have a good day :) xxx

eta cleaned inside of kitchen windows last night before bed, they are the ONLY windows I can get to without balancing on ladders, leaning over furniture/junk, and contorting myself in worrying ways. So they are the only ones which get done. Also stacked some toppled book piles in my bedroom, but didn't make a start on floordrobe :(

    Morning :j

I didn't get to sleep until 7am  no idea what is going on with my sleep but I seem to be constantly full of beans and not tired???

Part of my new bathroom suite arrived today (it will be a year long purchase plan :rotfl:) so as well as my usual clutter in the living room I have four large boxes and a large bag of plastic stuff. We were lucky that family gave us money/ vouchers for xmas so I have a new toilet and sink (no taps :rotfl:). Hoping to get the bath for Easter and the taps for our birthdays in the summer :D. Then we just have to sweet talk people into helping us fit it!

Today I WILL GO TO THE DUMP :o yes I know this has been my daily mantra since xmas but I WILL start packing the car soon so that I can finally walk up and down my hall without having to do a kind of cha cha movement :rotfl:

One of my favourite people in the world is coming round today and although she couldn't care less about the tidiness levels in my home I am going to get the main areas sorted for her coming ;), purely because I know she will tell me I am fabulous either way!

    C-day -9

Seems like it was a bad night all round. I woke up several times, headachy and trembling with cold...but I'm really starting to panic now. You see, if the kitchen, utility and bathrooms need a deep clean (and they do), it makes sense for a person with limited time and energy to get the messy ceiling painting job out of the way *first*.

So I lay in bed planning to get up and immediately start on the bathrooms...then slept in. Then dragged DS out of bed, warned him I was on a mission, and since DD is out today, he might, for fairness' sake, want to go out or invite in a friend before I found him a job to do ;)

And...I still have a headache, though I don't feel as weak as when I got up this morning. I've allowed myself to be distracted by some gardening-cut down the raspberry canes, dekippled and swept up, and the exercise and fresh air were probably good for me BUT NOT ON MY EMERGENCY LIST.

And I'm getting really stressed about the "spare" bedroom. It seems to have got worse, not better over the last few days, and DD is supposed to be revising too...I think I may have to take some kipple-crates in there and just chuck everything in until after her exams..

And this with 9 days to go...which might seem a lot, but I have to work four of them, DD is having a NYE sleepover, and DS has his birthday too...

    ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!

(Wish I could say I feel better for that, but I don't :()

  • With the place to ourselves in DS`s absence, having a nice chilled out sort of day. I just showed OH some of the last few pages here, the confessions (many of which I can also own up to!), Laurel`s Bookcase saga, and the stuff about Mount Washmore - and we`ve had a really good chuckle together. Thanks, my lovely Messy friends. OH is a dear tolerant soul, but there are times I think he must cringe at how messy I am...his verdict after reading here? `But THESE are the normal people, not the Spick & Span brigade. Their homes are lived in, like ours!` Isn`t that sweet?
  • Oh Laurel, I know how you feel, I go back to work next week and am absolutely !!!!!!!! myself. can feel stress levels building.

must visit my friend today, have to wrap her presents first. and she has six kids. speed wrapping here I come.

Will be in fits on Saturday cos I am going to a party. nothing to wear too much to do.

Hugs Laurel (was going to put one step at a time but I seem incapable of that and instead start about 12 things!!)

    xxx

  • Messy status report -
Heating on, doors open, WM on - am about to turn house into Chinese laundry (including DS`s doorway while he`s not here!)
Kitchen - dire! had deep-fat fryer on last night & it bubbled over so everywhere is a bit oily. (I only half cleaned it up last night!) plus sinkful of pots, and there`s something I need to identify & remove from fridge.
I`m torn between staying indoors & getting on with stuff, or doing a skip-run and urgent poo-picking, (latter 2 tasks mean changing footwear as it`s pouring with rain.) Am procrastinating doing anything until I reach a decision...

I work in a school and the record must go to a boy who managed to lose/forget his lunchbox for almost the entire school year. Everything in it had completely disintegrated and all that was left was a green powder from the mould.

Emm give your OH a big hug and a thank you from me, he's clearly an :A!!!

Okaaaay - have been to the dump, thus clearing the hall. But NOW the hall is full of Mr T bags :( I've bought a shredder:j, a cheap dvd player for the living room (haven't had one in there for years and I want to start doing exercise dvds again at some point ....), voddie, Morgan's spiced, Sambuca:eek: and Blue Curacao, a diary, tree lights, 50 pens (if I run out of pens this year I'm going to throw a hissy fit) and a very very meagre amount of food!:o

Now I NEED to make a start on my bedroom but the thought of it makes me want to cry!!

Laurel- hope you're feeling better soon! xx
