ooo err Helen, I only dare go out in my PJs or "house clothes" under cover of darkness, or risk frightening small children!

Progress report: mini fryer emptied and cleaned, washing up all done, recycling and general bin emptied into outside bins (I'm wearing presentable clothes today as I might need to go to the tip!), emptied the washing machine and put a new load on...

MUST DO THE "shed" NOW! Well after this coffee....

Prepped and put on gammon casserole in slow cooker, kippled the fridge a bit more, faffed around and still haven't tacked the "shed"... but I'm getting there...

    Morning Hart and everyone else

Well done everyone - Cat, you did mega well

Xmas Eve Hamper in our house is when Father Xmas has his elves deliver a little something to all in the house if they have been good, Elf this year is delivering; Kids = Xmas bowl and inside will be some sweets, dvd and something else [not sure yet] and for me and DH will be some sweets and a little drinky!! Lots of people put PJ's in for the kids but I'm not this year as DS doesn't wear anything and DD has just had new ones and funds won't allow a big hamper. Oh nearly forgot. . . . Reindeer food goes in the kids hamper too [small bag each to spread out on the front] Snowman drinks are made aswell - I'll do something like this if I have time on Xmas eve

    Anyhoo, ironing is calling

    Helen x

    Reported also.

Love the Christmas Eve hamper idea! I might try to throw together a little hamper here too. Thank you for the idea :)

Well its a dire day in the Fru house...

I made us all bacon sarnies for breakfast (having tidied half the kitchen last night I could actually get to the grill :D) but now I've got a cracking headache and the onset of a cold so I think a beechams and 2 hours powernap is required. I have no time to be poorly as this week is busy and accounted for!!!

    I will be back later.

  • Many many moons ago I used to follow this thread - after a long absence I am BACK! Desperately need some motivation to make this hovel into a Christmassy haven.... Reading and drinking tea is a good start though, right?

  • ooooooooo You lot have been busy!!!

Yesterday I cleaned out three fish tanks which nearly killed me (literally Water and Electricity do not mix!) and did nothing else!

Today I have hoovered, put away the ironing, checked fish tanks(no dead fish), Mum trimmed my hair (sad but true) and after this post I am going to clean out the guinea pigs and the hamster who I haven't seen for a few days.... he has come out for food but your know.....worrying..

I have a lot of paperwork to burn and no fire. I do have a big garden, any ideas? Paper doesn't burn so well it smokes....

I also need inspiration to go through the boxes of work stuff. more things to burn..............

Oh **** I have to put up the bloody Christmas tree!

    xxx
    Nevertheless she persisted.
  • Always a good start Heather :)

Oh god I'm getting the payback from all the activity yesterday. I'm slurring something chronic and sitting here in the shop praying I don't get too many customers. OH is working until 6pm tonight so I think all I'm going to be doing is taking the dog out for ten minutes :(

Hope everyone else is doing well today :)

Our greatest weakness lies in giving up; always try just one more time
  • Well the ironing is up to date, DH took dog out for a VERY long walk and the silly mut has scraped one of his pads and its skinless so he's licking it lots!! {the dog not DH]

Frugal - hope you feel better after the beechcams and a nap, I've a bad head and tablets are having no effect.
Snookey - hope your visit with Mum goes ok and if you don't get back on here - MERRY CHRISTMAS x
Purpleheather - reading and tea is defo the way to go
Buffy - we have an incinerator that we bought from Wilkos and we burn all out paperwork in the garden in that - smokes alot but I wait till its a miserable day when no washing is out and do it then
MM - empty shop vibes for you for today hehe

Ironing is up to date so now its tidy DR mission

Reading and drinking tea is a good start though, right?

    It's the only way! :D

I'm halfway through the "shed" and when I have put stuff away I shall be completing phase 1 of Operation Christmas Tidy.

Phase 2 is to clear the laundry and general jumble upstairs.

Phase 3 is to clean and rearrange my main bedroom.

I reserve the right to do phase 3 before phase 2, but it might not be possible due to too much jumble lying around and actually not being able to walk from one room to another!
