  • Evening everyone

Hope you are feeling better now Cat, kids can make you feel on top of the world or bl**dy miserable. Chin up.

Helen - I am keeping fingers crossed that both my kids go with their Dad to footie tomorrow so I can wrap their pressies up. I hate it too, maybe we can think of each other as we get the sellotape out.

I am feeling quite chirpy tonight. Listening to a naff Christmas CD, cant beat a bit of Mary's Boy Child! Have just done a Tesco shop - £180:eek:
But I am having 14 people for tea next Tuesday and there should be enough food to keep us going until the New Year.

Right - got to go, hubby is looking for something and stomping about because he cant find it!!!

thanks YL, long time no see!:) x 14 people!!!! I'd have a fit if I had to cook for 14 lol!

I think I might just have an early night, with some "comfort" reading (Bill Bryson probably:)) and forget about both the wine and the housework/present wrapping until tomorrow. DD is sitting here chatting on the phone to someone, possibly her dad, chirpy and cheery as you like, and it's getting on my nerves so I'm best off getting out the way.

I'm still sorely tempted to get my Chinese but it would be so greedy, I've already eaten 2 big platefuls of spag bol:o I am still a bit hungry though!:o

goodnight and hugs to all:) xxx

    Hi everyone.

Its really sad when a child treats their parent badly. Cat Id give your dd a kick up the backside. Where else does she think think that she would be able to live rent free.
    Hope everyone else is okay.

Iv been a busy bee the last couple of days. Iv finished the front livingroom now. Ill have to get oh to upload the pics. The kitchen has had a coat of paint where the leak was. I may have to do a second coat. DD room tidied, our room tidied, bathroom cleaned and piles of washing done.
Have been food shopping and took dd to see father christmas.
Saw dd play yesterday as they put on a second showing . Lots of parents complained that they had not been able to attend the first play.
Iv some presents to wrap but most have been done.

    List of jobs to be done;
    Mop all rooms upstairs.
    Wash stair and landing carpets,
    put washing away,
    wipe window panes down inside,

Yorkshire lass good luck on your feeding the fourteen. Make sure you get them to bring the booze.

    Sleep in saturday.

Blimey Snookey - well done - makes me feel tired just reading your list

I've decided that today I am going to get upstairs spotless!!! There will be no mess anywhere up there and then when it comes to doing downstairs I can bung it all upstairs out of the way lol

  • Hello Snookey, I was wondering where you were and you appear with a list as long as both of my arms :) well done :)

Cat - I don't know what to say about DD but (((hugs))) for you, it really can't be easy

Helen - good luck! Upstairs is my achilles heel because no visitors ever go up there - bathroom is downstairs (haha like I get visitors!) I'm determined in the new year when money is a little more available that I'm going to sort the storage problem out (plus the bigger spare room is being turned into my stock room - !!! - control centre for the online shop so I need to get all the bumf out of there!).

Oh and in good news I weighed myself on Friday morning and I'm 5lb lighter than my last cambridge diet weigh in, three weeks ago. So happy! I'll be under 15 stone hopefully this time next week and I can relax a little on Christmas day :)

Our greatest weakness lies in giving up; always try just one more time
  • MM - well done on the weight loss - thats really good - but you must have a treat on Xmas Day

    Today I have
    Put aways yesterdays washing up
    washed up last nights dishes
    had breakfast
tried to fix a broken wii which fixed itself - thank god - huge sigh of relief!!!
sent a poorly DH to the shop - got no time for sympathy today!!
ordered 5 for £5 Countryfile and 4 for £1 radio times - don't normally have either but its a too good to miss offer - if anyone wants the code for Countryfile let me know and I'll pm it to you - radiotimes offer is on their site [buysubscriptions.com] - used them lots and never had any probs - just cancel DD once 1st payment has been made - waffle waffle lol

    Off to "do" upstairs now

    Catch ya's later folks

I'm in! But I don't know how much peace I'll get:(

aargh! Made spag bol with pork mince for dinner, veggie DD1 just asked what she was having - I said "I don't know, what are you having?". "Nothing, apparently" she replied. Her choice! She's also invited people round without asking me - when I said she should ask as she's intending to use the living room, and it's MY living room - I'm being ridiculous. So I tell her that given that she contributes nothing financially (refuses to claim benefits for some reason) and nothing in the way of housework, I get told to shut up. So I've told her to pack her bags. She honestly seems to think I'm being extremely unreasonable!! :(

Sorry that you are having a rough time with DD :( No advice i'm afraid as my DS (19) was never any trouble and DDs are 5... Fully expect DD1 to be a nightmare when she gets older, she's a little madam now when she wants to be so any advice from you ladies with older ones would be gratefully received :)
Rummer - well done especially when you are feeling poorly, hope you are a bit better today

I'm flittin in and out of the party tonight, DH is here, so is DS but DD is at her Dads tonight. I'll be able to sleep in her bed, DH is having a bad time of snoring loudly at the mo and I can't sleep through it so keep ending up on the sofa :[ but for tonight and tomorrow night I can sleep in a bed - yeah. I don't moan at him about it cos he can't help it and normally I can make him change his position in bed so he stops but nothing is working at the moment.

I have tons of wrapping to do so tomorrow when DH and DS are at Footie I [STRIKE]might[/STRIKE] will have to make a start - hateful job!!

I also need to catch up on the washing and do some ironing each day and I need to paint the hall wall before Xmas - its dis-gust-ing and needs sorting out - Xmas is the perfect excuse to do it

Candygirl - Grrr to OH and hugs to you

    Helen x

Has your DH been checked for sleep apnoea? My ex was horrific with snoring and eventually, after much nagging from me, got checked out and it turned out to be apnoea - was truly awful to sleep with.

I can't bear wrapping either!!! Going to do some this afternoon at work - somehow doesn't seem so bad doing it at my desk rather than at home!!

Any tips on how to get my old laptop to fix itself please?!!! It just won't turn on and its got all my invoices on it and pics

    Plan for today...

    Work
    Wine
    Relax

    Plan for tomorrow

Panic through the house getting stuff done before DDs get back :rotfl:
Putting these winter preps here so I don't forget!

Curtain pole installed in the living room
    Paint curtain pole
Window quilts for landing window & french door
Add shrink film to the kitchen door & insulate
    Insulate front door
Bubble wrap windows & french door
    Wash front door curtain
    Blind for the bathroom
Find wrist warmers & the wool socks!
    Wash heated throws
    Wash duvet & wool blankets
Buy vest tops to go under clothes and PJs
Buy nets for bathroom and kitchen
Buy or make blind for kitchen
  • Frugal - PM sent to you, sorry but absolutely no help on the laptop prob - DS blew into the plug hole and the Wii worked, I was just about to change the fuse, I think there is a loose wire somewhere on the Wii but thats no help to you!!

    Upstairs is hoovered
    Our room is tidy
Lots of rubbish to go out

    Bathroom about to be done

GreyQueen - made me laugh - dare I ask . . . . . has your noisy neighbour vacated the premises yet - ignore me if you want, I won't be offended

Just cleaned most of the bathroom - DH was enjoying a peaceful bath until I burst in armed with bleach and other offensive cleaning stuff hehe

Off to hoover the stairs now and remove piles of gibble on there that are now becoming a tripping hazard
