Hi fellow messy b****** !. I have to agree with him, lol. Anyway Iv mopped the bedroom floor, hoovered, wiped the surfaces and tidied. Iv put the washing away and hoovered the landings and stairs. Now Im sitting down with a coffee made by oh. He did the kitchen and my son did the livingroom. Oh and I tidied my dd room.
This thread does help as I feel really lazy if Iv nothing to report back.
Im glad to see that everyone is still posting at least we know that we are in the same boat.
Iv created some work for oh as Iv removed some lining paper from by our window in the bedroom. We had water penetrating the brickwork and found it was a plant that was growing. So he will have to put the paper back up so I can paint and put my new curtains up. The curtains have sat there for months.0 -

I'm just too tired to do anything this evening and although I now have a long weekend ahead, I really don't feel like spending it doing housework! Doesn't it seem wrong sometimes that we work all day and then need to spend our time off cleaning house?! Oh well...I also have a list of paperwork and admin tasks to get on top of so that will take a while too.0

Hi Everyone
Well I got back from work, had tea, washed up and have been shopping. I need to get some washing in so I'm getting off here soon to force myself to do it.
I really want to try to get a little straighter before starting my maternity leave but seem a little lacking in energy. Can anyone advise when the nesting mode kicks in please:rotfl:. I am determined to get some stuff done over the long weekend because I spend all day at work worrying about whats to be done.

Hi everyone!
Can I join in please??
I've read through the full thread and I just want to give you all a ticking off!
Here's why - Every single one of you are ALREADY domestic goddesses!! Every one of you! You know why? You are doing the very best you can every day. Be that picking up one piece of rubbish and putting it in the bin or cleaning every window in the house. Doesn't matter. You care about yourselves and your loved ones and are making steps to give yourselves the environment that you feel you deserve for yourself.
You are all amazing.
You are all inspiring.
You are all helping each other (and me) and are great people for doing so.
Every tiny job done is a victory. Every rest is a moment of reflection and important too.
NO more guilt please! Beat yourselves up on your own time!
*KT*
ps. I did a bit of washing today and lifted some rubbish from my living room. Yay for me!Can we pretend that aeroplanes in the night sky are like shooting stars, cause I could really use a wish right now...0 -

Hi Parsnip - my daughter is now 24 - surely I'll feel like nesting soon???:rotfl: I would suggest that you concentrate on getting your bag packed and making ready for the new arrival. How about 5 mins of tidying and 10 mins rest? For one hour then have the next hour off. I do remember how tiring it was being heavily pregnant, and the hot weather will drain you as well. Look after yourself and the little one (btw I'm sure babies don't really care if there is a bit of disorder around).
Got the hall and utility room mopped :T bread dough is in the breadmaker waiting to be baked. Made flatbreads and watered the plants in the greenhouse (and planted out my tree paeonies).
Am sitting next to a beautiful beetle in a jar which I need to identify (think it's a cockchafer but not sure what kind).
Have now actually run out of laundry to do, and have empty washing lines. This is a first for me for more than 2 years at least. Baby steps really do work.
Going to have rain later in the week and will use this time to do my paperwork and clear up my craft things (have about 3 projects on the go none of which I've got around to finishing). I'm good at ideas and getting started, but awful at actually finishing anything. Another area for baby steps I think.0 -
