My home is a mess

Rummer & Frugal, Bless you, you do laundry but there`s always going to be more laundry lurking somewhere but the will of the couch is not evil! (mine was wise and lovely this morning! Just what I needed or I`d never have coped with shopping with DS this afternoon.) Memo to self - Keep it clear for when it calls me! However, I`ve brought several bags of Christmas stuff downstairs this evening, piled on couch/settee now so that I`ve got them here ready, will have to sort stuff in order to keep that niche clear....
CamNolliesMummy. Welcome to the Messies fold. I too have boxes all over the place that I can`t do anything about hun, since DS moved back home a few years ago. He`s 40, and was much easier to live with when he was 4! Now DON`T you stress about the boxes & stuff you can`t & shouldn`t be dealing with.
Washing & drying, ok, work out a bit of routine there, but seriously DO try to GET MINIMALIST about IRONING! The hours and fuel some folk waste on ironing is totally crazy. Stuff gets creased again after ironing, even with wardrobes. Have you thought of getting a cheap & cheerful rail to hang stuff on? Or those hooks over doors that you can put several coat-hangers on? Most of my stuff that`s in regular use never gets into the wardrobe.
Your little boy is 4, a lovely age - try to enjoy as much quality time with him now as you can rather than stressing about mess, before your new arrival. My niece was a scared single mum at 16. At 20 she was in college, and her little boy was 4. She made a game, a companionship with him, of getting simple chores done together and then `doing homework` together. He`d be colouring while she was working on an assignment, but they`d wash up, clear table and set it again for `work`, they`d stop and see to WM and TD together. At 22, when her son was 6, her partner (nice chap) moved in. He asked her one day if she`d washed his shirts:
No. (calmly, while cooking)
Why haven`t you washed my shirts?
Why haven`t YOU washed your shirts?
I don`t know how the washer works.
Luke, show Phil how the washer works please.
A 6-year-old showed a 26-year-old a quite simple procedure. The latter, rather shamed by this, never had to ask again. My niece`s son is now a grown man with his first baby on the way, also due in March.0 -
I can't stop coughing and sneezing and I can't get to sleep
My self pity levels are very high, and I just want some peace.
Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0 -
(((hugs))) Rummer...
Emm - love that story about your niece! That's fantastic, made me smileI often get 'why haven't you ...' and often think 'but why haven't YOU!'
Has anyone seen Cat? I do hope she's ok, she was in my thoughts last night.
Got nothing done (well, loads of work stuff), but the diet is going well. Trying to figure out if my size 18 jeans have stretched or if I've lost a little round the hips? My cake shelf (too big for a muffin top) has definitely gone down a bit (I hope). At least the only think that really needs cleaning in the house is the microwave, and my baking cupboard (dribbly golden syrup!) so I'm hoping in vain that I'll end the week with a sparkly house!
Our greatest weakness lies in giving up; always try just one more time0 -
Cat - where are you hun - come back cos we've got a party going on tonight!!
Emm - love the story about your niece - just told it to DH
Rummer - hugs and soothing cough thoughts being sent to you
Hello everyone
I'm full of beans today!! Taken Mum to Hosp o have her injection in her knee - she's been told that she may face an operation to have a new knee - I've told her she has to have it.

Thanks for that, cam does keep his room tidy every day before he goes to bed i ask him to tidy it and when im done with the vacuum he will do his room so im glad hes fine with that he thinks its fun :rotfl:.
I will how ever teach him to pick dirty clothes up for me as im starting to loose visability in seeing my feet lol :rotfl:.
i really dont mind doing the chores as OH works and brings the money in and all his things are clean and i have said to him if the clothes are not in the washing basket im not washing them :T and he says he doesnt want me running round like a mad woman when i shouldnt be doing to much but i cant sit surrounded by mess and im anything but lazy lol.
well yesterday i got the shopping done had a list and stuck to it, i then went to a new bargain shop it was huge and bought surf 100 washes for £8.72, as well as stocking up on essentials like loo roll and tinned things incase the weather turns bad (im in the east mids) its been windy here not too bad.
Well today i dropped ds off to school, came back had breakfast and a brew and cracked on. Ds's room is tidy and vacuumed as well as the front room and kitchen, a load of washing has gone on (towels and flannels) the dish washer has been loaded (present from oh when we moved to ease the load, plus id been saying for years i wanted one) and ive mopped the kitchen and bathroom. I will however go in our bedroom where most things have ended up and start bagging half a bin liner full of stuff then il pull it to the front door and empty the other half of the bag into another so its one full bag...........otherwise i would be wasting money:money:.
I have decided to do washing every other day, i have no tumble dryer so need to allow time to dry on the airer in the kitchen which takes a day.
I also decided on monday to do one week of using the slow cooker to A: save using the gas on my cooker and its working it costs the same as running an elecity saving light bulb using it so im very happy!!!:j B: its going to give me time to get things sorted around the flat which we decorated and carpetted lovely but its just full with rubbish so im going to do abit everyday.:)Ds2 born 3/4/12 8lbs 8.5:j

DS is staying at his dad's, DDs are out but will probably be back before half 10, which is just around the time I may be at that annoying stage of merrily singing along to all the Xmas songs, at which point I'll be sent to bed in disgrace:o0
