Oi you lot, you started without me!

If I drank, I suspect my intro would come out something like this- I'm Colleen, I'm 24, eternally petrified by the fact that I own my own home, I manage a clothing shop and it is the rockingest job EVER, I love to collect beads and make a mess. wewt!

Helen- ta very much for getting that stuck in my head :P I shall now flounce around the kitchen singing the Pogues loudly as that's the only Christmas song I like, apart from WIsh I was At Hooooome...for Chrrrrrrrrrrristmas...

I have never been very well paid but am so with you on the "why did I waste so much" sentiment Helen!

I agree it's so rare to love your job... took me ages to find out this role was the one for me, and it came as a bit of a surprise too.

Hi MessyMare! You and Helen are very naughty for getting those songs in MY head now. I shall retaliate by finding cheesy Christmas DVDs to play.... shall it be Shrek the Halls or one of the Simpsons Christmas? Hmm so many to choose from!

MM - See, now I'm a Wham girl - last Christmas I gave you my heart, mind you, I kinda like your songs too

JPS - Isn't it funny how things turn out, I NEVER thought I would suit going into the world of Support Worker for adults with Learning Dis/Special Needs etc but I have to say that I really like it, carp money but good job, stressful sometimes but I like a bit of stress and I don't get to be there too much which helps

As soon as DS goes to bed I'm breaking open the Xmas CD

I've got to admit, I'm not a huge fan of Christmas songs but I did hear Michael Buble's covers on radio one this morning and they sound rather sexy. Now, he is something I'd pour Bailey's over, sod the icecream...

Just walked DS round to his dad's 'cos he had a lot to carry and I needed cigs anyway - it's cold and icy, I REAAAAALY hate ice!

Ok a bit about me....two DSs to XH, 18 and 17, DS 13, who has recently started seeing his dad again after his dad finally sorted himself out 3 years ago, DS took a while to decide to see him but now he does and all going great.I'm 39 going on 17:D I love all kinds of music, from emo, punk and rock to opera and classical, including 80s pop!:) LOVE reading, got a big collection of books (well, I thought it was big till I read about other people's collections on here!). I love political books (but only ones I agree with:D), travel writing and true/fictional crime. Love darts (watch and play) and tennis (watch only!).

I love walking too, but not here, it's too miserable! My favourite place is Devon and I walk miles there. I'd love to visit rural Italy, France and Spain.

I'm very opinionated on some things!

I'd love to live in the country and grow veg and stuff. I'm not really very OS:o:o But plan to do more, starting with crochet.

Oh and I'm single and quite terrified of someone invading my space!

I know the feeling! OH and I really struggle with living together; even though I lived with my parents before I always spent a lot of time on my own, and he's lived on his own for like...forever. Really difficult because we both have our different ways of doing things and sometimes I just want to have some space!

Exactly Helen! I like a bit of stress too, but fold under too much, or the wrong kind. Finding the role that has just the right kind and amount was the trick for me. I think it's a lot to do with the school I work at too, it's a great place.

MessyMare I am lucky enough to own my own home too (well I own the mortgage on it anyway!) I was really fortunate to get in before the price hikes, around 13 years ago, and my house came under the "no one else wanted it" bracket - I love it though, despite its numerous faults and desperate need for rennovation - it has a large garden and open fires in the living room and bedroom.

Oh me too! Plus I think I'm probably far too set in my selfish old ways to cope with a live in partner anyway!

I am too these days - didn't used to be but for the last 10 years....did try a relationship in 2007 but he drove me nuts, wanting to be here all the time! Also he was very stressy and I had enough to deal with with DD1 at that time.

Not ruling it out forever though, maybe when kids are all away...but I really can't imagine it!

I was a single Mum for about 6 years then DH moved in next door, I fancied him like mad but he didn't show any interest in me!! Then he moved out and got a flat at another part of town, he invited me round for coffee and cake and the rest as they say is history! We;ve been married nearly 3 years [got married after going out together for 11 months] We're busy proving the sceptics wrong [his parents and my Mum] lol
