My home is a mess

They showed an outdoor drain cover and you could see that the level of the ground had dropped by about five inches or something! when we went house hunting I got freaked out by houses with trees in the back garden and wouldn't even consider it!
We have a 150 year old Beech tree in our garden, but as it has a TPO on it we can't do anything about it. THe house is only about 40 years old though so the tree was all but fully grown when the house was built. I think it's going to stop us getting solar panels though as the roof spends a lot of its time in shade.kittywight wrote: »afternoon all

i unplugged it and plugged it back in and it made a noise .... that means its working right?? it wouldnt make a noise if it wernt working
pray that ive just left the door open
please freeze back up, please freeze back up
Be careful if you are refreezing stuff tho - anything meat or fish based you should take out and defrost thoroughly. You can only refreeze these if they have changed state - i.e. gone from raw to cooked. There is a thread here somewhere about what is safe to refreeze. Ice cream is dodgy too.
I recently turned beefburgers into cottage pie as i'd done the same thing.I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -

thanks hun, thankfully the things that defrosted most was bread, so ill be eating that tommorow, and making sandwiches for my train journey on monday...
i have a bit of mince defrosting too .. ill just cook it then refreeze later..
thankfully theres plenty of meat in there still completely frozen, i just hope the freezer refreezes , i cant afford to lose all the food in there, and cant afford a new freezer...
just hoping the freezer is freezing back up... ive closed the door im not going to check it until later tonight *fingers crossed*0 -

Afternoon everyone:)
Total washout yesterday, not even in the mood to join the virtual party! Tired enough to flop in bed at 8pm but still didn't sleep till around 4am, starting to annoy me now!
Really glad you're feeling better CP:j
Save Dosh, I found that just posting in here what I planned to do really helped with motivation, and having lurked for a bit I knew that if I didn't do it - nobody would think any less of me!
Today I think might be another washout though. Tired and in a furious mood, a good friend of mine with severe mental health problems has just found that he has been awarded ZERO points at his benefits reassessment with Atos Healthcare, now I expected no points at mine and I was right - won my tribunal by a whisker though. But I thought he'd sail through, it makes me so angry that this is going to make him even more illMaybe I'll be able to channel some of my anger into demessying - but don't hold your breath!
In fact, I'll set myself two small tasks - take bottles down to bottle bank, and wash up. That'll do for today0 -
That is *very* cheap for four trees plus roots. I'd be pleased to get away with £250 for taking down just one (no roots).import this0

I am currently making inroads into the slum after feeling awful for most of half term week. I have cleaned the kitchen, and moved all the "useful stuff" from down the side of the freezer. The resulting dust/spiders/cobwebs have been hoovered away and most of the aforementioned junk has been binned. The cat keeps sitting in the space and looking confused. The cats have lovely clean bowls and place mats and I have put them on a warning for being messy :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
So that's one room.....0 -

I love it when they give us away like that don't you? "Where's my normal mess then eh?!" It works the other way too... once when I had some family round the cat did some sort of party trick by sitting in the middle of the floor looking up and getting all excited. We finally worked out he was watching a cobweb floating around near the light fitting
Kitty I do hope your freezer is okay - fingers crossed. Mucho hugs to anyone needing them today - I've done nothing majorly de messying again but am keeping on top of the kitchen (sort of). Also did some more washing to get work clothes ready.I believe in the freedom of spinach and the right to arm bears.

good job on the kitchen jps!
Oh dear - demessying AND the November budget have just taken a hit - a night in to myself, and somehow my feet just walked out the door and over to the off-licence all by themselves...... inexplicably my hands reached out and grabbed wine and vodka....and my computer opened my youtube playlist of party songs without even being prompted....
Honest guv
hope you're all having a good Saturday night!:beer:0 -
Wahayy Cat, good for you! My October budget was blown to bits about halfway through but I'll try again for Nov. It's a big learning curve for me, budgeting properly.
I too am having a self indulgent night... Madagascar is on the telly, I've just made some coffee and cracked open a box of matchmakers... I know how to live, me!
Kitty has your freezer frozen again?I believe in the freedom of spinach and the right to arm bears.

Mmmm matchmakers - NO! I Shall Resist!:rotfl:
I find the food budgeting ok, and generally don't bother with the alcohol often either, but with the house and youtube to myself for a change....it's party time:D
Now, who's going to join me for Oops Upside Ya Head?)) If I can find a floor to get down on that is
