My home is a mess

Thank you everyone
Service has resumed as normal today- dishes still on the side in the kitchen but ManBoy treated me to a trip to the cinema, I think he felt bad about last night. Feel on the up and up again- just had a game of 'where's that waggy tail' with the dog which makes him go absolutely nuts, so funny. I normally get told off for winding him up so late at night but I got away with it today
Hugs for everyone who needs them, high fives to everyone who got something done today and bigger high fives to those who didn't! It's the weekend after all

A mix of Leylandii and laurel, jps. It has been a big, big job, and the whole garden looks an absolute wreck. At the moment, I seem to have turned a private, maturing garden into an overlooked empty space. But the new trees will grow, and be nicer, and won't be a permanent mess. I wish I'd done it years ago. But the next best time is now.
I have twin mountains on the lawn-one of leafy branches and another of trunks. I'm hoping to freecycle the trunks as firewood, but it will definitely be a slog to get rid of the branches...import this0 -
ok, i am in a cluttered mess. I am having a new kitchen installed. Didn't prepare properly (no surprise there), so ended up just putting piles of dishes, mixer, breadmaker (loads of stuff) in the lounge, on the floor. The kitchen is totally gutted, I have no electric in there, apart from the light and a temporary sink, no cooker, washing machine etc., the electricians came today and did a total rewire, running the electrics into the wall (trunking i think its called). I didn't realise the kitchen door was open and was upstairs, sitting in a cloud of dust, its everywhere. All over the dishes in the lounge. My meter room, also doubles as a pantry and i have tons of food in tins, etc., covered in dust (approved foods etc), which i have been asked to clear for next week, as they are redoing the meter panel and electrics, also bags piled in the hall also - dust, dust, dust, mutter mutter, I just do not know where to start. I can't even be bothered to hoover, too much rubbish everywhere and the plasterers are coming to plaster monday, more dust, kitchen being fitted tuesday, more dust. I suppose i will have to get strict with the builders and make them keep the door shut. Im finding it a struggle just boiling the kettle, as i dont have extension leads, can't find anything. I am going to write myself a priority list and then go have a nice bath and tackle it in the morning. Maybe ill put my list on flylady, i used to go on there for a while and it does help actually posting it somewhere. Sorry moan over and i feel better already.0

Its got to be said that this board is therapy , for me it is . I tend to avoid posting when Iv not done much but try to push myself not to do this. I find it motivates me to do something when I see others on here having a go at the grime.
Party was okay although my niece was only just going to get the food when we arrived. Nice little gathering with the outlaws and my nephew.
Colleen please take things easy and stop pushing yourself so hard.
Save dosh I remember when our kitchen was fitted and only having a tap in the whole room. I went to work filthy from the dust. Just think though a nice new kitchen to look forward to.
Blinkin pipe needed fixing again due to another split in the lead . Im hoping that its fixed now as Iv got a big damp patch on the wall and ceiling in the kitchen. Hopefully it will be the end of it and I can repaint the mess when its dry. Still doing the front room but should finish this weekend.
Hope everyone has a good day and take care.0 -

I said I wasn't going to count, but I think we took down eighteen trees today...the good news is that there are only two left-one biggish one and one that's wayyyyyyy out of our league that we've been anchoring the winch to. Next door said he'd get his regular (ish) tree surgeon to drop around and give me a quote...I'm concerned how much it's going to cost, but it's only going to get worse if it's left...
So tomorrow will be about a hundred trips to the tip. Well, nine or ten at a guess. And my house is still a mess, and half term is more or less over.
But I will never, ever have to cut back, or pay somebody else to cut back those hedges ever again..."You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"

I'm having 4 big trees cut down and the roots poisoned on Monday, and it's costing £250 which is apparently cheap:eek::eek::eek:Have to have to done though as the trees were planted too close to the house, and might affect the foundations otherwise:eek::eek:
Did you ever see the episode of 'help my house is falling down' where the trees were causing major subsidence? They showed an outdoor drain cover and you could see that the level of the ground had dropped by about five inches or something! when we went house hunting I got freaked out by houses with trees in the back garden and wouldn't even consider it!

That's why i'm having mine cut down just in case, plus we have the manhole thingy in our front garden so I don't want the roots to affect the drains:eek::eek::eek:TBH Barratts who built the houses shouldn't have planted big trees so close, but they're numpties:mad::mad::mad:"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"

Snookery - yes it is therapy, a problem shared - also knowing there are others in the same boat, makes you feel less of a failure, not that anyone should ever think that.0
