    Morning Messies :D

Since we have been out for a lot of the weekend the house is still reasonably tidy so today I only have to do a quick wipe round to get it organised again. DD is away out today and OH is at work so come lunchtime I will have the rest of the day to myself, bliss :)

Think I may have a nap and relax with a good book :D

    Hi All

I have been missing in action as really struggling at the minute with depression - may get myself to the doctor for a medication review.

I always struggle at this time of year and it does not help with the house looking like a laundry and dumping ground.

    Things to do before work

Unload WM and put on line
    Unload DW
    Ironing to put away
    Hoover downstairs

Will be pleased to just get the ironing put away.

    Have a good day all

Sorry if post in wrong place, but my kitchen is doing my head in!

We have a large iss kitchen dinner but seem to have no room, have tried to clear work surface but do not have cupboards to put the stuff in!

How many cupboards do I need in a kitchen?

At mo I have 1 double wall cupboard that has food-tins etc in, a 600 unit with plates, bowls etc, a 600 with glasses in and baking stuff, a 3 drawer unit, a under counter corner unit with baking trays, jugs, mixing bowls etc and a cupboard under the sink with cleaning stuff in.

I need a new kitchen as this one is literally falling in bits, but will have to make do for now.

I have tried emptying all stuff out, but ended in tears last time!

I have a toaster, kettle, tea, coffee, sugar pot, mug tree at the side of the sink. Slow cooker and George grill at other side, then my cooker and then microwave at other side with actuary on top. This does not leave much work surface.

    Any ideas?

Hi crockpot nice to know i'm not the only one with lack of storage and worktop space if i could get everything out i don't think i'd get it back in again we've one cupboard can't put tins in the go rusty and we took a bag of sugar out and it was solid as a rock:mad: i have one countertop above wash m and one just about 4ft and one wth the microvave on it only just fits ( not too bad i hear you say) it wouldn't be except we got told by H O that we can't have the microwave next to the cooker i've got to move it but where too?
apparently it's a safety issue never heard that before and it's been in that spot over 6 years and the one before that ???

cooking stuff i keep in oven cake making stuff in a plastic box cereals are in l&l dispensers on top of f/f

kitchen is long 17ft but only 5ft wide from wall to sink and because of the way the doors are its not easy to have units etc

we are thinking of putting some wide shelves up aka wardrobe doors no longer used on wardrobe just need brackets and i'm going to get two of them plastic storage 3or4 draws high to keep the small stuff in its cheaper than a cupboard and as it's movable i can try side by side or stack em hope you get sorted soon

    Hey Gilly

Sorry to hear you are feeling low, going to the docs sounds like a good idea, better to deal with things sooner rather than later. Try not to get too overwhelmed with cleaning and make sure you have time to take care of yourself. Go for a nice walk, have a bath or relax in what ever way makes you feel better.

I have done some laundry today and a bit in the garden however I am too restless to focus on any one thing for long :(. Currently trying to convince myself that I want to tackle a kitchen cupboard. I think what is more likely is that I will wait for my shopping to be delivered and then go for a nap.

Hello messies! Not much to report here, except steadily getting messier as term goes on :o

I have Friday off this week so hoping the good weather holds and I'll be able to tidy up the garden for winter - well, when I say tidy up, I mean cut the extraordinarily long grass, hack back the beasties that I call hedges and rescue the bottom of my garden from total wilderness - I am a wildlife gardener so this just means stopping the more enthusiastic things like wild rose taking over completely.

I wish I could say I'll de-messy some of the house, but I won't. Maybe at half term, when the weather's likely to be rotton!

It's going to take a bit of time but by breaking it down into little chunks then you can get there :)
Seconded. I have a tiny house and it doesn't take much to get it in a mess. I am on a mission to sort out drawers and cupboards at the mo and make more space. I can only cope with that by setting goals of a small area at a time. Re drawers I start by tipping everything out on the floor to sort - with a strong drink and good TV programme to ease the strain!
  • At last the coal shed is empty! Well except for a couple of tins of paint but not sure what OH wants me to do with those. Took a car full of rubbish to the tip, did 3 loads of washing and some gardening. I have decided to get some outside stuff done this week while the weather is good.

Emm-if you get a visit from the Pixies send them around my way when you are done. They could maybe sort out the utility room for me which I dont seem to be able to get on top of.

And Gilly - hope things are better with you.

Right, off to make sure DS2 has got his homework done.

Hi everyone. Yorkshire lass hoper son is feeling better.

Well last night I went to let the dog out only to find that water was coming through the door frame. Found the leak in dd room, lead piping had cracked. Its now fixed but will have to replace the pipes eventually. They are from the bathroom so not drinking water.
I just seem to have had the washing machine on non stop the last few days. Trying to keep ahead of the housework in case the dreaded depression hits.
Hope everyone is okay and hugs if you need them.
