Rummer I used ot do my ironing on a Sunday morning watching Countryfile - but that plan went to pot when they moved Countryfile to Sunday evenings! I still do it Sunday morning but now just listen to music.

I have washed all the guttering that has been put back and it looks fab - did it with Stardrops! I have cleaned all the windows and swept up front and back. The conservatory has also been cleaned all plastic and windows. It looks really good. Just finsihed vacuuming and having a nice cup of tea.

The final push is on now by DH to get the back gable ends on and then we have done the bigest and worst job will be done. After that have the summer pots and baskets to deal with but I will do that next week now and with a leisurely approach to it. I am still debating to buy pansies to put in the pots and tubs! I will have a think on that!

    Well so far I have:

    • done four loads of laundry
    • run a dishwasher load
    • cleaned the cooker
    • hoovered most of the house (just bedrooms to do)
    • folded and put away the dried laundry
    • changed the towels
    • wiped down part of the kitchen
and now I am having a break and some lunch before:

    • hoovering the bedrooms
    • stripping the beds
    • ironing
    • finishing wiping down the kitchen
    • mopping the floors
Once that is all done I will be back on top of the house, and crumpled in an exhausted ball on the couch :rotfl:

    Hello messies.

I haven't done much today as we've been out most of the day. Did manage to get a wash on and out to dry on the line by 8.45am this morning, but that is literally all I've done. Doing dinner now, eating with the kids and making some for DH who is working late to heat up later on.

Need to have a think about what's on the list for tonight once kids are in bed. Have lots to do so need to prioritise to make the most of the evening.

Plan for the weekend is kids clubs Sat am. Then tidying garden up ready for winter. Clean out guttering etc. May also try to convince DH to do the windows if we have time as they could really do with it and would be the last time until the spring probably.

I'm shattered after an hour swimming this morning with a 2 year old and rushing about all day. I could do with going to bed at the same time as the kids!

Lazy day for me too, feeling a little under the weather. Colleen, during term time I just manage to work and get home to eat and sleep, and that is totally it. I really have to hope for both decent weather and good health at the weekends if I want anything done in my house or garden!

I have done two loads of washing but still plucking up the strength to take the second load out and hang it up to dry. First load is airing in my own spare room of doom, which hasn't had an Avon bomb but more like a student bomb - still has all my pgce and later degree stuff littered all over the place.

We've managed to not make too much of a mess in the house today which i pretty good as that's what normally happens at the weekends. I tend to relax a little, not pick up after everyone, then regret it by Sunday evening when the house is a tip!

Kids had their clubs this am. Then had nice lunch that DH cooked. This afternoon was spent in the garden. Tidying/clearing for the weekend. I want to finish a job tomorrow that I started today out there. Needs a couple of hours really so will have to wait and see. DH is planning a tip run tomorrow and more gutter clearing.

I am loosing DH this evening to the Rugby that he's recorded from this am. I need to get some ironing done anyway so will do that and may have a soak in the bath. My arms and back ache from the gardening so a hot bath would be lovely. In fact, I'll have a bath first, then iron with a glass of wine :D

Also pretty happy as I spent ages listing loads on ebay last weekend on the free listing w/e. I've sold 12 items :j A couple of these I'll be going halves with my Mum on as they are bits from my wedding which she paid half towards. I should still get £100+ once fees and postage are paid hopefully so well worth the effort, and more importantly, a couple of boxes of stuff decluttered forever!!
  • hello fellow messies

its been nice and sunny in my little corner of scotland and it gave me a bit of a boost! Team that with the fact that my DH didnt need help in the night and i had a good sleep and i felt refreshed. So today i have mananged to sort the laundry that has been all over my living room for a week nd put it away with DD1s help (nearly fell over backwards when she said yes...although she is wanting to go out with her mates tomorrow so coud explain a lot...) just got a few bits left that have been on the line today, ive moved all the living room furniture and brushed under it, and cleaned the front hallway and have been able to reinstate using the front door!! Unfortunately i found the root of the cat wee smell and had to deal with it but its done now nd my hallway smells fresh as a daisy. Ive got the dishwasher on and the floor is cleaned and brushed just waiting to be mopped! Now im off to start to tackle another big job...the bathroom!! If you dont hear from me again its because ive died of shame at the state of how bad its got. Hope you are all having a good saturday.

Love princess stinks a lot (this cleaning is hard work!!!)

    Gah.

Not sure where the day has gone. But I've been cooking again.

But the house seems to be becoming mysteriously tidier. I keep forcing myself to pick up one more thing than I actually have the energy for. And I'm being firm with the kids-making sure they do their share. That makes a big difference...

The odd thing is that I feel slightly panicky when I walk into an immaculate room. As if I've been stripped of a layer of protection, somehow. What is it that mess stops me facing? I wonder.

  • Sorry if post in wrong place, but my kitchen is doing my head in!

We have a large iss kitchen dinner but seem to have no room, have tried to clear work surface but do not have cupboards to put the stuff in!

How many cupboards do I need in a kitchen?

At mo I have 1 double wall cupboard that has food-tins etc in, a 600 unit with plates, bowls etc, a 600 with glasses in and baking stuff, a 3 drawer unit, a under counter corner unit with baking trays, jugs, mixing bowls etc and a cupboard under the sink with cleaning stuff in.

I need a new kitchen as this one is literally falling in bits, but will have to make do for now.

I have tried emptying all stuff out, but ended in tears last time!

I have a toaster, kettle, tea, coffee, sugar pot, mug tree at the side of the sink. Slow cooker and George grill at other side, then my cooker and then microwave at other side with actuary on top. This does not leave much work surface.

    Any ideas?

Well I didn't get on to have a bath or do the ironing last night but I did declutter a bottle of wine with DH so well worth an evening of doing nothing!!

This morning, washing is on, machine beeping at me that it's done. Need to get me and kiddies dressed. Want to finish gardening. Need to clear up kitchen (looking a little worse for wear as DH cooked last night!!). Then must get the ironing done as uniforms are needed for the week.
I have mealplanned for the week and made a shopping list for tomorrow. Need to pack up ebay parcels and get an invoice to someone for multiple purchases.

Roast for us later and that looks a good choice for the weather today.
