Right upstairs all done. Just shower cubicle in the ensuite to do but that gives me a good excuse to have a long hot shower later on!!
On my 4th load on washing, just hoping it all dries as a bit miserable and cold here today.
Now need to crack on with downstairs but just procrastinating spending time on here!
Off for a cuppa to warm up then must get on, will check in again later ...

Candygirl hugs. Family can be stressfull . Hope your dd has the baby soon.

Iv mopped the kitchen, done a few loads of washing ,cleaned the bird cage out whilst he perched on my head chewing my hair ,sorted out the tons of rubbish bags as we have special bin bags and we had to wait three weeks for more, cooked the chicken for tommorrows tea and thats it.

Candy girl again hugs and a big cuddle.

JPS - are you keeping the quarry tiles as they are? I have 60 year old quarry tiles in my kitchen and hall and we have them uncovered. I quite like them but I was watching a diy program recently where they had old quarry tiles and the presenter was talking about needing something to cover the "awful old floor"! I got some specialist stuff to deep clean them when we moved in but it was a lot of work and I am not sure it really made a difference.

Hi Yorkshirelass, I am indeed keeping them as they are - they're quite sound, but they are salt-stained a bit where they've been damp under the old lino. I quite like them as well. I have to admit I'd love a beautiful new floor with stone tiles or something, but that's as far out of reach as a trip to the moon!

I found that the stains come off after a while (part of the floor wasn't covered by the lino, and the tiles there look quite nice just with regular traffic and irregular mopping (well I am a messie, after all!) That's interesting about the specialist stuff, I was considering getting something but might just let time and traffic do the job. I've just received the hand held steam cleaner, so might have a go at the grouting with that.

Hi to new messies, I really felt like I'd come home when I found this thread so hope you feel at home too!

I've hurt my back more than I thought (overdoing it on the decorating), and had to stagger off to the Dr yesterday in agony. She's given me a load of pain relief and I'm now high as a kite but my back was still hurting too much to sit and type until now - feels a lot better tonight.

Helen, I'm sure loads of the kids at my school have lice too, I often see them scratching! I haven't got kids of my own, but I do a treatment every now and again just to be sure. It's worrying that some of them don't work! I sometimes wonder if my hair colourant (every six weeks) sees them off - no good for kids, I know, but it would be reassuring to know if it did the job for me. Hope the car is ok now.

Well done to all getting stuff unmessied! I hadn't planned on being incapable of doing anything for the last week of my hols, but the kitchen is tidy and clean and the living room is ok apart from the kitchen clutter that needs sorting - I reckon I'll just have to accept that it won't be finished before I go back to work, and get myself motivated at weekends to work through it. You never know, by Christmas I might actually have a few tidy rooms in my house

Hugs and cuddles to Candygirl and all those in need of them - I remember the times before we had forums like this to share and offload. Friends and family are wonderful of course, but it's not always appropriate to offload or vent to them.

Well I managed to get downstairs pretty much clean.
Still need to wash the floor, clear the side in the utility and one hotspot in the kitchen but those can wait till tomorrow. Conservatory hasn't been touched but that is my ebaying dumping ground. I have been selling loads but the piles in there just seem to be getting bigger and bigger. I guess I'm just getting too good at decluttering ;)

I must try to list 3 items on ebay tomorrow as won't get any done rest of the weekend as will be a busy bee.

I'm off to empty the dishwasher, put the ironing away, shower then a much welcome bedtime for me.

    Goodnight all x

JPS - I'm defo positive that hair colourant works for keeping the little sods at bay as I never get them and I colour my hair and I should have HL cos of the close contact with my kiddies!!!

Candy - have a huge hug honey [not doing the kicking bit though as your too nice] Tell DD to take a chill pill and we all know you'll be there for her if you can, maybe she needs reminding of that of course it could be her hormones screaming!! MAybe baby is on its way now!! Hope it all sorts itself out for you x

The car was picked up at 1.25 and at 4pm it was fixed - yeah!!! And cos they deal in cash [shhh] it was MEGA cheap so bonus!!!

My ironing pile is non existant [except for todays washing but I don't count that]

Tomorrow morning we are off to a swimming pool in a nearby town that has waves and slides and that kind of stuff - my idea of hell, but the kids will love it, not so sure about DS as he's not too confident in the water but DD will get a major buzz out of it. Can't please both of them at the same time!!

Off to catch up elsewhere now so night all, sleep tight and sweet dreams
