Well done CG and well done to all of them for landing jobs. let's hope they are permanent, if that's what they want as so much in that field isn't.
Decluttered yet another massive pile of paperwork to recycling, shredding and bin. Also a bag of items to CS. One of them is a Cl*irol hair dye, I got vouchers for free packs and the first pack turned my brown hair black instead of medium brown and in terrible condition with an itchy scalp.
I complained and got £15 of vouchers, but it left me wondering what to do with the dye. I was going to use it on the weekend but chickened out. I used a much, much lighter shade of L'Ore*l Sublime Mousse but even 5 months down the line you can't see that much difference on my hair.
Bin and recycling day tomorrow so will try and declutter a bit more this evening. My son is house -sitting for his friend who is on holiday with his wife and children (but has dodgy neighbours) so he's been decluttered.
I had new wrought iron bannisters fitted on Monday along with a wrought iron back gate, both look lovely. The bannisters cost a horrendous amount, the gate was very reasonable. I'm not sure if I was 'done' on the bannisters. Probably not, as they were made to measure and took half a day to fit.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -
I feel completely overwhelmed. we have a couple of major diy projects going on including redesigning the garden. i feel exhausted. i will try and do 15 mins dusting and washing up later.0

Evening everyone
Thanks for all the good wishes for the interview. I dont think this job is going to work out even if they offer me it so feeling a bit. The job advert said hours to be arranged but actually they wanted specific times and days and I dont think I can fit these around my son and his part time school hours. I have been feeling a bit sorry for myself because I would love a little part time job but I have to put my sons needs first and right now he needs me a lot.
I am now thinking about doing some voluntary work - at least then I can be honest about my home life and ask for the hours I want.
Hope you did better than me Hart!
Jps, I am going to print out your post and put it up in the kitchen when I start decorating. Its brilliant! I have got to decorate my kitchen but I have a) No decorating skills b) No money and c) No inclination to do it really.
Helen, hope the ironing got finished. I dont mind ironing actually, just dont like putting it away.
Oh and Candygirl I had to get the lawnmower out last night too and it started raining so I didnt get the front grass done. At least the back looks better.
Oh well best go and have a bit of a tidy up - need to try and get the kids into bed a bit earlier tonight too. Mind you I say that most nights and it never happens!0 -

Just saying a big hello from me !!
Cake and lots of nice brews all 'round for my b'day today, help yourself
I've been having real bouts of sorting and tidying and slowly my house is becoming "proper"
Anyway, hugs and prayers for all!!
Much love,

Hello
Sorry the job might not work out for you Yorkshirelass, I do hope something suitable turns up for you.
CG well done on finding the jobs, my DD is looking for pt work, she is at uni, and it is not easy.
Feeling rather pleased today, I have got two or rather 11/2 jobs done that I have been putting off for ages. I took the kitchen blinds down, soaked them in the bath with some dishwashers tablets then took them outside, hung them on the washingline and gave them a wipe down. They are now gleaming.:j Job number 2 is ongoing, the oven and shelves are coated in ovenmate and in an hour or two (they are THAT bad) I will wipe the stuff off and hey presto a lovely clean oven.:j
Have a great evening whatever your plans.

I decluttered the boot of my car today as I was supposed to be going to North Wales over the Bank Hoiiday weekend, someone else was doing the driving and I said that I couldnt contribute much to the petrol (I really wanted to drive and they could pay me for fuel as I had got some fuel in the tank but not enough to get there and back). Seems that I am no longer welcome even though I have paid for the ruddy weekend:mad: Still, it also gave me the opportunity to sort my shed out a bit too.
The depression is still hanging around and yesterday I was particularly low and today I feel a bit brighter, tomorrow may be different - I may be low again:( Got turned down for jobs too some of which I don't mind because I didnt want to work there anyway but one made me a bit cross because I was being rejected because I hadnt mentioned logistics - the advert didnt even mention logistics:mad: still I didnt want to drive to Wellesbourne anyway (about 50 miles from me).
Good luck to everyone else looking for jobs.0 -
Happy birthday Sentora!
Problem is I want a job that gets me out of the house meeting people. I can only work very limited hours and only have experience of doing office work. I have actually thought about becoming a self employed cleaner but you will guess from the fact that I am on this thread I dont actually love cleaning. I really dont know what I want to do at the moment.
Good luck with the job hunting Horace. I am in a very lucky position where I am OK financially at the moment if I dont work but I can understand how hard it is. Good luck and keep an eye on that depression, make sure you get help if you need it.0 -
