  • Hi Messies!

Dibuzz, sorry you felt so down yesterday, no wonder you weren`t up to de-cluttering. Well done on the washing in those circumstances though, and getting it all dried too, rather than having it literally hanging around. I wasn`t so lucky...
DS announced that he`s off to his GF`s for a week (HURRAY!)
    Going on Wednesday (HURRAY!)
Needs his stuff washing...(So Bring it Out of Your PIT!)
No. He`d rather leave it till last minute as usual. (GRRR!)
Now, I`m on my second of 2 days off then back on Longdays on Tuesday. I`d sooner have got his washing out of the way yesterday and relax a bit today, but he couldn`t be @rsed.

I got so naggy I went Outdoorsing and did a lot of clearing up in the garden/jungle. At least the day was productive, but here I am today STILL waiting for him to bring his washing out - don`t hold your breath folks, he`s not even up yet. It`s very tempting to say `make him do his own dratted washing` but he always overfills WM and as it`s fairly new (to me) I don`t want it wrecked just yet.
I`m trying not to get naggy again today, but I`m not happy at the prospect of spending my late afternoon/evening faffing with his stuff then draping it around the house, nor do I want a row about it, nor coming home to it after a longday shift tomorrow. I`ve explained this, I`ve asked nicely too, but it just doesn`t get through to the Inconsiderate Slob.
    Rant over.
  • I finally got rid of the cardboard boxes which were cluttering my shed! Yay!

I have done lots of washing but now that I am folding laundry I find I have no room for the clothes! What am I doing wrong?

Also I seem to have lots of hair products. I go through something I use something I have in my stash -so it is not as if I am holding to things I will never use.

In the meantime I gave my kitchen a good clean.

    Morning everyone.

It doesn't feel like I've had a weekend, let alone a long weekend! Flooring and picking up the rabbits from their various locations. Saturday we were flying around everywhere buying important, yet very boring, stuff. Sunday, who knows what. Yesterday we went for a supposedly relaxing trip to an antiques place to look for something decorative for the living room but we were both frazzled by the end of it!

Today is more getting the house back to normal, catching up on a mound of laundry and generally giving the place some love.

    Hope you're all OK.
  • Hi Messies!

Yesterday was a good day! I did a 12 and a half hour shift and I came home tired (& gave a tired colleague a lift home too so bit of a detour) but happy. The whole day belonged to my job, and I didn`t think about house & home stuff at all, no time for that!

Today the whole day belongs to me. I`ve had a lie-in, cleaned up in the kitchen, and next I`ll put WM on, nip to Morrisons for a few things, and maybe potter around doing useful stuff.

Thursday the whole day belongs to the job again, and I think I`m going to be a lot happier with this pattern than loads of shorter shifts. The fact that I then have a week of annual leave is a great psychological boost isn`t fooling me, but the `all or nothing` balance between work and home feels more suited to the Inner Emm!

I've done well today, mowed front lawn and cleaned 2 cars.
Just having my favourite fennel tea then will do some more decluttering upstairs.

Wow, some hard workers today. All I've done is change the bed, visited a recently widowed neighbour and chose my poems for U3A.

Am trying to bash on with the knitting, but had to undo lots yesterday, as plait thing wentnthebwrong way.

Words, words, they're all we have to go by!.

  • Well done there Dibuzz. My car is not bad on the outside but the inside is a mess. I`m planning on trading her in soon (got my local trusty garage on the lookout for me) so I`ll have to have a good clearout and clean her up soon.

I`ve not done very much today, but satisfied with what I have done -
a couple of WM loads (STILL not got my hands on DS`s washing yet, but he`s not going till Sat now so don`t hold your breath till Friday afternoon!)
a big lamb pot roast in the oven by 3pm - spent ages faffing with it but enjoyed doing it. I got some fresh Welsh lamb bones in M`s, browned them, then browned a load of veg (parsnips/carrots/shallots & and aubergine) and a small lamb shoulder joint & some spuds. I`m just letting it fester in a low oven till we`re ready for it!
Then I cleaned up the mess I`d made in the kitchen, and sat outside to soak my feet & cut my toenails. (Major op, that!)
I have tomorrow night`s meal planned - an easy one, German bratwurst, runner beans, lots of German mustard and crusty bread, yum. So I`ll have happy feet at work, and no sweat in the kitchen afterwards. Now all I need is an early night...

Sounds like you're making progress dibuzz.

I have been busy this morning. The plumber came back to fix the shower so I did a few bits before he arrives. I've done one load of laundry and another is in, did some handwashing, henry'd the dining area, henry'd and washed the kitchen and living room floors (have I mentioned I now have a floor in my living room?) cleaned the stairs, tidied the pantry and porch cupboard and cleaned the blinds in the bedroom.

I did buy a steam clean at the weekend so I've been trying that out too, I'm impressed so far. I'll be cleaning the rabbit pen with it at the weekend so that will be a good test!

    Have a good day everyone.

Forgot to say, I have also cleaned the upvc frames in the living room, well the door and one of the windows, just one window left. There was a bottle of upvc cleaner in the garage so I thought it might be a good idea. Looks great, tiring on the arms though!
