We've just had a chicken in plum and hoisin sauce stir fry with rice noodles, I was desperately hoping eldest wouldn't request curry.

    Hi everyone,

I'm fairly surprised and pleased to report that after our mammoth clean before we went away the other week the house is still OK. DH didn't wash up last night so that's to be done today but other than that I think we're not too bad.

I have a bit of ironing to do this morning but not too much. I used to be an ironing avoider but when I started quilting the iron was out so much that I did one or two things as a break from pressing seams then I realised I didn't find it to be a big deal as I had done before. I thin kit was because I have memories of my mum spending the entire day ironing piles and piles of stuff, it was enough to put me off!

Hope everyone is not too bad and finding something to smile about.

Tai chi this morning for me, then I'll do,the little bit of ironing I have. I think my new iron is too light. I had to press so hard when I was ironing on Sunday that my wrist aches. Carrying a full watering can, doesn't help, though.

No need for watering today! Grey and raining here,

It was raining so hard at 5.30 am my son's boss sent him a text saying stay at home as they can't mow so no point going to Manchester just to do a bit of weeding.
I'm not feeling as motivated today, probably because of the weather as much as anything else but I have done a bit more painting.

Well, I`ve had a day of ups & downs....

One WM load done, but washer died during final spin. Had to wait for DS to get up for proper `diagnosis`, but it`s seems it`s definitely a goner - the door hinge was weak, the seal was on it`s way out, and it was a second-hand reconditioned one when I had it. It`s been truly hammered over the last 5 years and it doesn`t owe me anything!!
Went to British Heart Foundation CS to find another but they had none, getting one in tomorrow, and it`s got my name on it but they have to check it etc so can`t have it till Thursday. Some appliances I`d want brand new, but I`ve known so many folks with new WMs and loads of trouble with them (OK, they may be under warranty but the hassle of waiting for them to get sorted makes a nightmare of a tale! Not just one make, either.) so I`m quite happy to go for a pre-owned one.

Washing wasn`t quite spun enough so put outside, thankfully it hasn`t rained (YET!) but it`s still quite wet. Grrr. At least I don`t have a backlog. (Yet!!)

I`ve unpicked the goofed up sewing, and sewed it again properly, plus done another load of sewing on a jacket. I have now 3 garments on the go, but not finished (because I`ll have to change the thread colour and that means re-threading the machine...then re-threading it again...)

I`ve typed a long post on here earlier on, but hadn`t quite finished it and posted and the fuse box tripped when the washer died so it was lost. Silly of me, but I was almost more annoyed about that than the WM!!

Got a beef & mushroom casserole from freezer thawing for tonight - well, I THINK that`s what it is....

    Have a nice evening folks...x

Three loads of washing dine here, all hung in the conservatory, I won't use the tumble drier when I can hang it out there.
Sluced up the bacon joint I cooked in the slow cooker for some ham for sarnies for the week. Washed incontidog, and her bedding, and the utility room floor, thanking doG that her new food produces very old fashioned dog poo. She had me worried yesterday as she wasn't getting her back end up on her third leg and was reluctant to go anywhere on her own and would not go outside at all, so I was having to pick her up, 16kg of springer spaniel that doesn't want to be picked up is a nightmare. But she seems a bit brighter this evening, got so excited about her supper she was spinning round in circles on her bum! This evening she's taken herself outside on her own and even put weight on her worse leg...
Him indoors has been keeping a low profile, I made his coffee and buttered toast, as he's had gor breakfast for the past 5 weeks, and then he waits untill I give it to him to ask for jam on it..
Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.

Raksha, I know what you mean about `old-fashioned dog poo`! Many times I could have cried when dear old Dafty dog had stolen the catfood! Glad your old`un seems to have picked up again.

I`ve cleaned up in the kitchen, had a quick tidy in LR, and put yesterdays` damp washing back outside as it`s hot and sunny today. No wet rugs this morning, which is just as well till WM is replaced!
I`ve got my uniform and bits packed ready for Friday, but I DO wish I knew what shifts I`m on after that, to plan around shopping/meals, etc., but I`ll just have to take it as it comes. DS has just told me that he`s going to be away at his GF`s next week, so that`s a help in a way.
I want to get some more sewing done this afternoon. One thing I am really pleased about that`s been achieved while I`ve been off work is the transformation in DGD`s room - it`s not perfect by a long way, but so much nicer now with no `floordrobe` and the new curtains. It`s partly because I`ve had to access the sewing machine in there, and partly because when the room isn`t a pit she can bring her friends here, but somehow it hasn`t slid back into the previous `where do we start?` mess.
On that positive note I`ll get on with a bit more tidying and hope everyone has a nice afternoon. x

I've been to see my pwp this morning, he is pleased with my progress especially as my depression score is down from 27 to 7. I'm quite sad that next week is my last one, I need to see someone else for the anxiety side of things but I've actually looked forward to going seeing him the last few weeks and he's been a great help.
I've been moving stuff from one side of my room to the other so I can paint the other wall, it would be much easier if I could just empty it but it's getting there now.
I'm going to keep up the weekly plans, not sure how well it will work when I've nobody to go through it with but I will give it a try.

Sorry, Emm, I had to chuckle! So annoying, though. At least it's lovely today, sun and wind, ideal drying conditions.

Radha, can't you peg out washing?

Dibuzz, you are doing really well. It's a pain having to move the stuff back and fore, isn't it.

I've had a lazy day. Took my aged Mac computer in for an upgrade, if possible then to Tweedmill for some cheap throws for the conservatory! Waste of time, it's now expensive in spite of calling itself an outlet.

I expect you know it, Emm.

Morning everyone, pouring down here as expected. OH will be unable to do any paid stuff I suspect so I will be writing him a list of jobs!

Good news Dibuzz, glad you have made so much progress and I can understand why you are a bit nervous about going it alone. I think anxiety is a bit more manageable, especially if you feel more positive about things.

I agree Emm, I wouldnt have any problems with a second hand wm, I bought the cheapest one I could find when mine packed up.

Dont feel very motivated this morning. I have a committee meeting tonight for the voluntary job I am soon going to be giving up and as usual I have left the paperwork until the last minute. Will have to do that this afternoon.

Ooh and I need to find something in the freezer for tea, need some food shopping but I will do that tomorrow.
