My home is a mess

I've cleaned the bathroom, it gets very damp in there with various leaks and 4 of us having showers.
I noticed something on the drive as I was coming in after picking eldest up and thought it was a bag at first but it was a dead cat. No idea how long it had been there as the car was hiding it but it was rock hard, poor little thing. I'm not a cat person but don't like seeing them like that.14 Projects in 2014 - in memory of Soulie - 2/140 -
Hi all
Havent been on here for ages - for all sorts of reasons - and my house is in a complete mess. In fact I feel a little bit overwhelmed by it all.
I finish work tomorrow lunchtime and dont have anything planned for the rest of the day so I need to motivate myself to really crack on. I thought about allocating myself a set amount of time to each room or I will just flutter about from one thing to another and not achieve anything.
Or worse still I will park my bum in front of the computer. If anyone sees me on here tomorrow afternoon will you kick me off?
Hugs to everyone, will catch up properly later in the week.0 -
Hi Messies!
Rashka, I have lots of anonymous brown stuff bagged in my freezer too! If I`m freezing a YS haul raw, I snip the original label and pop it in the bag, but when it`s cooked stuff I always believe I`ll recognise it - and seldom do.
Dibuzz, I know what you mean, I`d be thinking of the poor cat owner wondering where it got to and maybe still hoping it`ll come home. I`m not really a cat lover either but I do love ours (DS`s ) and if she is missing for a day I`m worrying.
YL, don`t let it overwhelm you, that`s the most de-motivating thing you can do. Just pick a task you`re going to start on, put on blinkers and get on with that - then maybe you`ll find you`re on a roll - or not. Wondering where to start, and actually getting started that`s the hardest part. Good luck with it anyway.

I`ve got an appt with Occy health at one o`clock today, then will go and see ward sister about starting my phased return to work. I`m half exited and half apprehensive, but I was the same last year after my hysterectomy and I was like a duck back in the water after a week! (albeit quite a tired duck!)
Once I have a few dates to work around I`m hoping it`ll motivate me to get more done at home, try to get a bit of a routine going.
No wet rugs this morning.
No urgent housey jobs, so just had a quick tidy in LR & kitchen, and I`m thinking I might Henry around when I get home after the appt. etc. this afternoon. Or not.
Have a nice day folks. x0 -
Emm, a farmers' market at Abakhan tomorrow !
I am dying to go, sense I've got my knitting back on, but I do have to finish Aran cardie for DIL first. She probably won't wear it, though.Member #14 of SKI-ers club

I hardly ever post here but since I'm trying to do more around the house (after a few post baby lazy months) I thought it would be a good idea!
Today I've washed the dishes and baby bottles, cooked sausage casserole and sponged down a sausage casserole covered baby (lol). We just got back from a weekend in Blackpool where we visited the zoo and bags still haven't been unpacked. Oh, bless him, must have put a wash on before we went away, which is a first for him, but forgot to hang it up, time for the sniff test, lol.
Then I'm hoping to tidy the bathroom and persuade oh that we need undersink storage.
It's hard to get anything done since Lily started crawling!:eek:0 -

That made me smile because I do that all the time! I never seem to remember that chilli and spag bol look very similar once they are frozen.
So, I finished work late, got home at 2pm. Made the beds, hung washing out, put another load in, walked the doggie and then it was half past three and I hadnt really done anything.
After making and eating tea I kept plodding away until 9pm and the house looks soo much better. Not perfect but better. And I feel much less overwhelmed.
OH has been persuaded that we need a skip for the garden clearance project that is underway and I am hoping this will give us a chance to get rid of some clutter out of the house too. OH is even threatening to go into the loft and sort that out  we may need 2 skips then!
Right, off to get jim jams on and read for a bit I think. Tomorrow is another busy day.0 -
Hi Messies!
Pol, did you get to the farmers` market? I saw signs about it last weekend but to be honest I`m happy to stick to my local farmshop as I get good bargains there.
Talk, welcome! I just hate it when stuff is left in WM, even overnight. My DS tends to do this if he puts his stuff in (rare) and he hates hanging wet washing so leaves it for me.
YL, well done for plodding on - glad you feel better.x
Well, yesterday was disappointing - I`ve got ONE short shift pinned down (the afternoon after my sick note expires) and we`re going to `sort the rest of my rota out` then.... It would be nice to be able to plan a LITTLE further ahead when the time comes!
Had a very lethargic morning but eventually got started in the kitchen, and then decided to wash kitchen rugs and give floor a good deep clean. (It was well overdue!) At least I can see a difference now.0 -
That's annoying Emm, it's much harder planning things at short notice.
I've been out this morning to see my pwp, he's pleased with how things are going.
I've done a bit of gardening and 3 loads of washing then sorted the recycling out.14 Projects in 2014 - in memory of Soulie - 2/140 -
Dibuzz, sounds like you`ve had a productive day, hope you`re pleased too! I`ve been promised some help in the garden tomorrow, but will wait and see what happens...
I`ve done another WM load too, and just putting a third one in (small stuff to dry indoors overnight).
And I`ve finally taken the plunge and cut out a top from my fabric haul on Sat. I`ve ALWAYS done my cutting on the floor, but this isn`t so easy now. It took ages, and my knees are killing!!!! At least I`ve made a start, but it`s too late to start sewing now or there`ll be no food tonight - didn`t plan this very well, did I?0 -
Paint cupboard in garage is now cleared. There was paint there that I didn't even recognise! We've never had a blue kitchen!
Finally finished opening and registering for our new Santander account, quite easy when you concentrate! 3% on current account can't be bad.Member #14 of SKI-ers club
