Hi all
Well done for getting rid of the rest of Steffs stuff Dibuzz. Must still be upsetting for you.
Emms, returning to work next week then? I bet you are looking forward to it. Being at work gives you a nice sense of normality, and I know you wont overdo it so it will be a good thing all round.
I am trying to organise my time a bit better, got very stressed and panicky last week which is not good. I suffered from anxiety years ago and I really dont want to go back there. Making more time for myself is a priority so I am currently sitting on the sofa doing very little.
Off to start making lasagne for tea, enjoy the rest of Sunday everyone x0 -
Making time for myself is one of the things I've been told to do as well, it feels a bit odd but I am trying to do it.
I did the front lawn and a bit of digging but it was far too hot to do the back as well so I've been sat outside talking to youngest son and his mate who were building a bike from spare parts.
The bathroom has had a quick wipe over, I'll give it a proper clean tomorrow when everyone is out.14 Projects in 2014 - in memory of Soulie - 2/140 -
Pol, well done on clearing the ironing (if you must...)
I bought my iron when Woolworths were closing down, that was a few years back ! What happened was the kettle died, and for once we didn`t have a `spare`, so I bought one in the closing sale. Can`t remember the price now, but it was quite cheap so I went straight back and bought another as a spare. I also bought the iron (cheap!) as we didn`t have one - I`d given it to DD when hers broke. The other day was the FIRST time I have used an iron in all that time.
YL, yes, I AM looking forward to getting back to `normal`, but also verging on stress about it! Thing is, I know I`n not organised at home, I do get binges of motivation and then slide back and these peaks and troughs are `normal` for me. (That`s why I`m a `Messy`)
I feel I`ve not made best use of the last couple of weeks off work, and the more I think this the less I feel like doing anything apart from the `tick-over` stuff!
Maybe some of this is about `time for myself`, slobbing around because for now I can, but it does feel a bit negative, like I`m wasting time rather than enjoying it. When I do get a burst of motivation I can actually quite enjoy a cleaning binge and be happy getting on with things as well as happy with the result.
Just waiting for the next wave, really...0 -
So far today I've painted a wall, done a huge food shop, cleaned eldest son's car and liberated all the plates from youngest son's room. His gf didn't stay this weekend (the only time he brings them down) and we are down to one dinner plate!
I'm running out of steam now so having a sit down and cup of tea.14 Projects in 2014 - in memory of Soulie - 2/140 -
Dibuzz that`s loads done already, hope you enjoed the break cos you earned it!
Since my post I`ve nipped to Morrison`s (nearest place that sells big tins of pilchards!) but not a proper shop, just bread, milk & the tins for Dafty dog.
I`ve read your post and shamed myself to get on with a bit more sewing. Thanks x0 -
I've done the back lawn as well now but that's definitely it for the day apart from making tea later.14 Projects in 2014 - in memory of Soulie - 2/140

Wow,Dibuzz, you've worked like a Trojan!
I'm just wondering why I am so tired, after a really good nght's sleep. Walked to town and back, not too far.
Had to force myself to Hoover and dust LR and hall, then wash kitchen floor.
Dried two loads of washing in not time. Good job kitchen floor was wet, good excuse not to iron.Member #14 of SKI-ers club

The hot weather makes me feel tired, I much prefer winter.
If it makes you feel better I haven't done the bathroom, it can wait till tomorrow14 Projects in 2014 - in memory of Soulie - 2/140 -
I like the heat and being warm. I suppose the stone over weight I'm carrying doesn't help.Member #14 of SKI-ers club

OK, it`s not a lot, but I`ve got one garment completely finished (it`s a top) to my satisfaction. I`m really pleased with that. Also, that`s one paper pattern put away till I want to make it again (I use large brown envelopes - patterns never fit properly back into the original packet!!)
I have, however goofed on a pair of trousers so have a seam to unpick before I do any more sewing, but I`ll do that in daylight.
I`m not doing any more today, just making rubber chicken curry!
Normally I prefer the hot weather, but I`m overweight too and it`s definitely not helping with the tiring quickly.0
