Need to buy some new furniture too-I have a vision of what 3 rooms will look like when they're done. :)

I've not got much done today apart from washing and dishes.
I went to the doc's this morning and called at Tesco on the way back for milk but had to wander round for half an hour before I could go to the till :o
It's gone really cold here now, sometimes I'm glad I don't go anywhere :rotfl:

    Debt-free and Proud!
I can report that I had a fun afternoon....I didn't really tidy up as such, but I have one of them 'invisible' corners in the kitchen were I have an ugly pot that is open topped and over flowing with used stamps, odd screws, etc etc. Just bits and bobs, you know. So...this afternoon I found 3 plastic tubs, dipped some yarn in pva glue type stuff and wrapped the tubs in yarn to make them pretty.
Once they have dried overnight, I will sort the stuff from the messy tub and put what is keepable into my nice new lidded tubs. I'm feeling very pleased with myself! :)

  • Morning all!

Just been doing the basics here this week, i've had loads of jobs to do outside. It's cold and windy today, tidal surges over the weekend and maybe some snow, i feel like going back to bed!
Today i'm going to try a couple of new recipes out of a new cookbook a got this week, it's 'The Amish Cook's Baking Book', lots of lovely treats to make!!
I really must tidy up in the living room, there's loads of the kids clutter laying around, every night when i sit down with my cuppa i tell myself that i'll tidy up 'tomorrow' but it's not happened yet. Grr!

    Have a good day everybody!

    Sounds fun Willowpop.

I am just adding the finishing touches to DH's blanket fort. It's pretty tiring. Now all I have to do is keep the buns out of the room all day.

We went out to buy cake and other treats this morning as the weather is meant to be really bad tomorrow so we could well be indoors all day. Other than that I'm just giving everything a primp and I might make some biscuits to eat in the fort this afternoon. Have a good weekend everyone.
  • Good Morning Messies!

Alec E - I`m confused now - I thought your OH wanted the blanket fort for the rabbits, but if you`re going in there to eat biscuits ...? Anyway, hope you & OH enjoy it!

Tattycath & Dibuzz - Not much Motivation round here either, I feel like just keeping on top of the bare minimum is an effort.
Willowpop - the `bits & bobs` tub/jug/bowl thing is a very familiar nightmare, might as well enjoy decorating the vessel before sorting the contents!

FW, sounds like your family is in for some treats, and you`ll keep warm indoors for a bit while baking, at least! I hope the weather isn`t going to cause problems for you on the farm, it must be a worry sometimes.

I`ve only done the pots/sink/worktops this morning, and taken dogs out. Have to go into town later to collect OH`s trousers & a few other bits, but we did the farmshop yesterday on the way home, so no major shopping for the weekend needed. Have to pick DGD up from school later, but in between I intend to sit down and ...MAKE A LIST!!

I usually try to avoid lists, but I`ve come to the point where I think it would be useful, and I`ll put a lot on my list then cross some out before I start, more an exercise in sorting priorities, then getting some of it done at least!
The weekend will be `normal` weekend stuff, with DGD here, but I`m aiming to start the list-binge on Monday. There, I`ve given myself plenty of warning!

Yes, it's a den for us to sit in, the frame is the dining table and chairs, covered in blankets with more blankets and cushions to sit on inside. Did no-one do that when they were little?
  • OK, got it now! You said something before about it having to withstand the buns, so I thought it was for them.

    Afternoon Messies,

I am running through my end of month routines, preparing for the next month. Starting a new exercise regime to get the weight down next month. So will be tackling the paperwork in small doses so will gradually deal with it rather than worry about big improvements.
It's really easy to default to cynicism these days, since you are almost always certain to be right.

Right, I got my list made and so far today I have:
    Hunted for important paperwork
    Sorted and tidied a bedroom.
Put some stuff in the loft
    Tidied landing
Still got lots to do but I feel I've actually achieved something today. :)
Oh, and I have about 5 loads of washing to sort and wash.
