Good Morning Messies!
Dibuzz, ((HUGS)), sounds like you had a carp day yesterday (so did I, must be something in the water?) I do hope you feel better today. x
Buffy, I didn`t read here yesterday, just read your lovely "random fly-by" post & it cheered me up no end!
Kayester, thanks for sharing the before/after pics. You must be feeling chuffed at getting so much done.
And Snookey, I`d never get a whole downstairs done as it includes DS`s room & DGDs!!
YL, working for a living IS overrated, and so is being Off Sick! I`m getting fed up of it again, and lucky to be at least on half pay after time off/hysterectomy last year, and still don`t even have a start date for the radiotherapy yet. Might find out tomorrow when I see the doc., or maybe just wait for letter - I can`t remember from last time!
Have to go into town this pm, weather still foul & kitchen floor still swampy.

Dibuzz know how you feel re housework it does seem never ending. You have a lot on your shoulders at the moment though with your little dog. Saw the photo so cute.x Hugsxxx
Kayster well done its fantastic when you manage to clear the mountain of clutter. They do say it unclutters the mind too. x
Emm you sound fed up . Hopefully your treatment will be started soon and you can get back to normality. XX
This weather does not help peoples moods . Roll on the summer when you can get out and about without being drenched.
Alec I love the idea of taking a photo of your toiletries. I may pinch that idea if I may, and apply it to the freezer and fridge contents . That way when I go shopping I have a visual aid when deciding what to buy, Im always doubling up on stuff even with a list as I think Iv missed something off .x
Im not sure of what Ill get done today as my moods are up and down. Other half has been really unwell too so its having an impact on daily life.
Our front railings have just been knocked down by two Husky dogs chasing one of our cats. They need replacing so this has brought it to a fore. There goes my budget for my slate flooring.
Im going out next month with a great bunch of people I met over facebook . Im hoping my mood stabilisers by then and that I can cope with the crowds. I really need to get out more in general and Im determined that this year will be a turning point.
Yorkshire lass and everyone else hope your all well and getting through your daily chores.
Take care everyone and speak to you all soon.x0 -
Hello all!
I have to make lists and cross off the chores bit by bit to make it seem like I'm accomplishing more quicker! hehe :')0 -
Hello again...
Alec E, your `haven`t done much` sounds like a full days` work!
Snookey, thanks. Hope your OH feels better soon too, it all adds to the stress. (Re the railings, any chance of the Husky owner chipping in?)
I got really fed up the other day, and it normally takes quite a lot to get me miserable AND grumpy - weather isn`t helping, but it`s partly because car MOT is coming up and not knowing treatment dates yet is a bit worrying, though I know there will be ways around it it still feels like facing a Time Tetris! I`m so glad I hung the list calender and pen by the computer the other week, it`s a big help with so many dates to juggle (2 birthdays, 3 appts, car, sick note due etc., all the dates would be bugging me even more without being able to see them at a glance.) Still loads of `important` bits of paper filed under `m` for miscellaneous, but at least i don`t have to keep riffling through them to check I haven`t missed something! Feel better now I`ve done the errands in town/bank, but got wet trouser bottoms and have just had a call from DGD`s mum to pick her up from school in a bit, so not worth getting changed yet.
OH has INSISTED we go to pub this evening, says I need an outing... he copped an earful last night, and it wasn`t his fault, Bless`im! So, supper is an easy one - green thai - a jar, a tin, & some leftover chicken.
Off to pick DGD up now.
Have a nice evening all.x0 -
The weather definitely isn't helping.
Youngest son wanted to nip to Costco so we went and as we came out we saw a white Range Rover with "KHAN" in letters on the bonnet so I'm guessing Amir Khan was in there.
I got a huge pack of bacon and one of mince which I need to separate and freeze in portions.
I'm determined to get the hoover out before I pick eldest up from the station, wether I switch it on or not is another matter. Everything just seems such a huge effort at the moment.14 Projects in 2014 - in memory of Soulie - 2/140 -
Hello again!
Dibuzz - my Henry is still upstairs since I did bedroom last week. We keep tripping over him when we go to the loo at night! A nice stash of mince & bacon is good.
Cherryb - Welcome to Messy-land! Share your lists with us and we`ll cheer you on to try to make it seem even quicker!
Off out soon, but we`ll be back before 7 (O wot an Exiting life it is....) I called in the new frozen food shop next to poundshop this afternoon, fell off the `use-up-freezer-contents` wagon AGAIN, had to do freezer tetris and am right back to square one again, with no space at all, plus a bargain duckling thawing in fridge... I have NO willpower, and now have to re-think meal plans all over again....will take notebook & pen and discuss with OH over a pint of real ale.0 -
At least you meal plan Emm, it's usually a case of see what we've got in and what everyone wants here.
I never know what time the youngest 2 will be in and although eldest is back at the same time every night I never know what he's had for dinner at work.
I quite often end up doing 3 different meals at 3 different times.
I didn't even get the hoover out but did 10 mins of clutter clearing,14 Projects in 2014 - in memory of Soulie - 2/140 -
Kayester, well done, thats fantastic you must be so pleased.
Oh and Emm you are right. I wasnt happy being a full time carer but not entirely sure going from one extreme to the other (being home all the time to having 2 jobs) was a good idea. I am going to give up one of my voluntary jobs at the end of the financial year because I am just too stretched. You have had a hard time of it though and you inspire us all with your cheery posts so dont worry if you feel like you need to moan.
And yeah its a funny time of year, Christmas is over and although the nights are getting lighter it still feels like a long time until spring. This weather is really grim, it feels like it never gets properly light here.0 -
Emm, I didn't realise until I read your post that, yeah, I had done a bit!
snookey, steal away! I have found it useful, I did the same for a blog post about my pantry (yep, it's like that) the other day and it turned up all manner of stuff that I look at every day but didn't realise I had. Well worth trying.
I got some really good bargains at the charity shop yesterday - a magazine rack, two veg rack things and a trolley, hopefully they should help contain some junk.
Have a good day.0 -
