My home is a mess

Hi Messies!
Robin, welcome - I have that rising tide of dog hair here too.
Re several tasks on the go /on pause at the same time...yup, me too! And it sometimes draws comment from my OH too. Then the only response is "well why don`t YOU finish that off then?" Instant back-off from OH, while I mutter something about SOME of us having to multi-task or nothing would ever get done. Or sometimes I mutter something about `beans on toast`. (This is a thinly veiled threat to cancel cooking efforts for the day while I do tidying etc. instead. ALWAYS works!)
I do not claim to be good at the multi-tasking thing though, and often feel I`m going round in circles!
Today I`ve been shopping, re-blitzed kitchen (except floor!)
put away shopping (caravan of Doom looks like Harvest Festival, as I`m on lates for rest of week & farmshop closed Sunday & Monday).
Also started bothering a duck. Well, a duck sans legs. I`m roasting it first, then going to do stir-fry & noodles with black bean sauce, OH`s favourite. Also informed him I`ve bought some liver, and he actually `helped` me to put shopping away. (Both dogs very interested too when I`ve been shopping, they get very sniffy and waggy around shopping bags.)
Looking at my new rota...seems so yuck having just one day off at a time, which is the pattern for the first fortnight - then noticed I have a week off in the third week! THIS is how Procrastination happens! Meanwhile, I shall just prioritise with the necessities. If I feel like doing anything more than that it`ll probably just be on the cooking front.
Some time ago I had a great purge on keeping LR mantelpiece & windowsill clutter-free, and this is still working - dusty, but otherwise clear - much to my surprise. I tried the same with the sofa and kitchen sink/drainer, and that`s still a daily battle but not as bad as it used to get.
I get a bit of motivation out of this - even if it`s just to keep on top of certain hotspots because I know it can be done.0 -
The Real housewives of V@ncouver on now ITV 2 - Enjoy!

Well, it all went downhill yesterday, it's all my own fault and DH keeps rolling his eyes and laughing at me. I broke the kickboard in the kitchen with the help of anger and a hammer. Then I tried to hide the hammer so DH didn't know I used it as a coaxer and I have jammed the drawer shut. What a silly sausage I am!
Going to pick our friend up this afternoon so I shall see you all in a week or so. Don't work too hard!0 -
Alec E, I`m just impressed that you found the hammer in the first place! Have a lovely time with your visitor.
Well, I`ve sorted the animals out, left the sink/drainer clear, and now off to work in a few mins. Anyone`s guess what it`ll look like by the time I get home tonight....
Have a decent day Messies. x0 -
Still struggling to find any motivation to do anything but I have done some ironing and 3 lots of washing. It's quite windy but sunny so it's drying quickly.
Tomorrow is recycling day so I'm going to make sure I sort it all out tonight.14 Projects in 2014 - in memory of Soulie - 2/140 -

I managed to summon up the energy to get the mower out and do the back lawn which isn't easy as the garden is a mess but I finished it and pulled up a few weeds from behind the shed too.
I'm also determined to finish ironing all the washing that's dry which reminds me, when I was ironing the other day I was sure I had one of eldest's T shirts but did everything else and it was nowhere to be seen.
I even looked outside in case I'd dropped it but it wasn't there.
About an hour later I spotted a corner of it sticking out from under the dog, she must have snaffled it off the pile and snuggled up for a snooze on it :rotfl:14 Projects in 2014 - in memory of Soulie - 2/140 -
Hi everyone congrats on those who managed to do some chores.
Today I hobbled to the gp and have an appointment for an xray in the morning at the local walk in. Gp does not think its broken just badly sprained but wants it xrayed all the same.
Hobbled to the shops which are 10min walk away and got a few christmas presents from the M&S outlet store. Also got a thick cardigan for dd for 4.00 reduced from 15.00 so really pleased.
Iv put a support bandage on my foot and it seems to be helping. Cleaned the grotty kitchen as Im the only one who cleans it properly ie under things. Washing in machine, washing hung up,all downstairs floors cleaned and rubbish out. Tea cooked.
Had to munch two strong painkillers afterwards as foot was throbbing. Sorry I have to moan, lol.
I never managed to clear a box the other day but hopefully my cleaning today more than compensates.
Dibuzz our dog has chewed two of my best bras in the last few weeks as his cage is right by the washing basket. My fault I know. He tends to pull stuff in at night when we are in bed and I find all kinds in there.
Take care everyone.0 -
Its freezing today. Im going to have to put the heating on later if it gets any colder or a load of jumpers. Scrooge comes to mind ,kids can put lots of layers on and bobble hats that will save money, lol.
Well off for xray.0 -
Can I join in? Not only I'm a clutter bug but I also sustained a fall a few months ago. My house wasn't tidy before and now it looks like a bomb site. The kitches is pretty decent and the bathroom too.
Anyway my intention is to clear my act because the mess is putting stress on my marriage and I certainly don't want Junior thinking living in a mess is normal. I'm so embarrassed...............................................................................
