    Dibuzz Im sure most of us have done that at some time or other but as Winston Churchill said ;
If you find your self in hell keep on going.

    In other words RUN!!!!!!!!!!

My foot is feeling much better today thanks to everyone for their kind words. Im moving about on it more but still taking it easy.

Iv put some washing in, had a quick tidy in the kitchen and put the tea on. Im just resting now with a coffee. Have been using the travel kettle as our kettle went bang the other day.
Iv decided to buy a hot water urn this time instead of a kettle so we have hot water on tap. Someone is always boiling the kettle.
Emm take things easy it sounds like you need some rest and well done for your blitzz of the kitchen.
Buffy I love spiders we used to have one with a leg missing that lived in our cellar. He used to come up for food into the living room. Sorry about your fish.
Lleucu welcome back. You have given the elderly lady her life back by the sounds of it. Dont forget to give yourself some me time though as your in danger of wearing yourself out.

Oh Dibuzz you do sound fed up, sending you hugs. If it makes you feel any better I do know how you feel. I felt a bit teary yesterday because I was tired and stuck at home doing housework on a Saturday instead of out there doing something more fun instead!

Still, thats the way it is I guess. My advice is to choose one small job, even if its just making the sink shiny or something - then do it really well. It often gives you a bit more motivation to do something else and if it doesnt - well at least you have got one part of the house looking good!

So, Sunday night. Got back from kids footie at 5pm. Fed everyone, well pizza and chips, hardly gormet cuisine. Put the ironing away, put another load in, gathered all the rubbish up out of the car, had a mad half hour with the dog and the ball in the garden, helped DS2 with his homework, tidied the kitchen and now I am going to put my jim jams on and crash out with my book. In fact I might sneak off to bed soon.

Working at pt job number 1 in the morning then on to pt job number 2 in the afternoon with a quick walk with the dog in between. So nothing much will get done in the house tomorrow but thats fine.

Enjoy whats left of the weekend all!

Lleucu, that sounds wonderful. I'm so pleased that other agencies are involved now as well. I hope that you will soon be able to step back and as Snookey says, take time for yourself. You are a rare diamond.

A pamper day for me today, so a couple of used - up toiletries out. Again, this forum has been good for me with that aspect of decluttering as I wanted to post all about it on the No Buying Unnecessary Toiletries thread.

    I am so tired!

    but I,

    1. repotted two trees (small trees)
    2. plant two plants in two more pots
    3. weeded the flower bed (buried the fish :( )
    4. redid the edging and put done wood chip
    5. Exercised the guinea pigs.
    6. cleared the top of the recycle bin
    7. bagged up summer clothes for shed
    8. found a spider....YUCK.
    9. put 3 bags in car for the charity shop.
    10. fixed the thing that holds the ironing bed up.
    11. hung up my ironing
    12. cleared my desk(!)and had a good tidy of my room.

Must remember Rome wasn't built in a day

    and

Things don't have to be perfect
(flowerbed edging - a little wonky)

Snooky glad your foot is better and Dibuzz - you do loads, you must remember that, whenever you look at the house you know it will get better. It is getting better.

There was more to say but I have lost this post twice so not chancing it, plus I have a mince pie and some icecream to eat and the ice cream is just melting....

    Hugs all round XXXXXXXX

Yes, I've been in the situation where the state of the house has made me cry, but as sonastin says it doesn't make anything better. I also agree that if you feel you don't want to do anything about the mess then let it go and do something else, don't sit around thinking about it. If you find yourself sitting around thinking about it then you might as well do something.

I used that as a motivational tool for a long time after DH said something along the lines of "do something or shut up about it"!

I was up at 3 am full of good intentions and raring to go but there's not much I can do without waking everyone up.
By the time the kids had all left it was 8.30am and I was struggling to stay awake, next thing I knew the phone was ringing and it was just after 12 :o
I've sprayed cleaning stuff all over the bathroom so I've no choice but to finish it and picked up the rubbish youngest 2 have left in the living room.
It doesn't matter how many times I ask daughter to clean up after herself she refuses. In the past I've tried just shoving it all in her room but her room is so bad you can't even tell.
I had a bad day yesterday with her and her attitude so am struggling to do things but fed up of living in a dump and crying alll the time.
I'm determined to at least finish the bathroom and do the kitchen today, after all it won't do itself.

Hugs dibuzz. My son is 30, still with me and it's only since I developed really bad arthritis and couldn't do as much that he's stopped believing in the Tidy Fairy. Not that this Tidy Fairy was ever particularly efficient.
My Mum kept her house spotless, tidying up after all of us. I'd have perhaps learned to be tidier a darn sight more easily if she hadn't...

That's one of the problems I have, some days I struggle to even move but my daughter listens to her dad who says there is nothing wrong with me and I'm just lazy so refuses to help.
My eldest is 25 and is great he will do anything for me. It's rare we have chips but if we do he starts peeling spuds without asking which isn't easy for him as he doesn't do things like that well but at least he is willing.
He also understands that depression is an illness not just a bad mood as the others and their dad say it is.
I don't know what I'd do without him he's also the only one who keeps his room tidy.

  • Hi all.
Dibuzz, ((Hugs)) - I`m sorry to hear your daughter is being horrible to you again. I certainly wouldn`t worry about waking her early when you are up. If you did it often enough she might even want to move out! Still, as others have said here, you do get a lot of stuff done, but I think it`s the `treadmill` feeling of clearing up after others that gets you down now.

Buffy, I am very impressed at your list. Have a good week, soon be weekend again!

Sonastin, the `crunching` underfoot thing is quite familiar here. It`s usually dog-biscuit, but other substances may also join in...

Not much done here today. Washing all put away, shopped (bread & milk) & food sorted in my head for next few days.
Still to do - de-clutter feet - toenail time! Early night tonight, long day tomorrow, `proper shop` Wednesday.
    `Tis a Hard Life, but it`s Regular!! x

Dibuzz when your eldest and youngest move out get a one bedroomed flat. At least that way only you can live there and it will only be your mess.
That dd of yours really needs a good boot up the backside.
Iv just got back from the childrens hospital with dd. The school were concerned with regards to her walking ,gait. Nothing wrong as I suspected just a normal long legged 10 year old.
My foot has swelled up again due to walking on it. Ill have to seek some medical advice if it gets any worse. Was tempted to ask the consultant seeing my dd.
Rubbish being carted away in the morning. There goes 100.00 but its worth it to see my hard work rewarded.
Emm my oh stepped in fur ball sick this morning. Thats the kind of under crunch you dont want.
Well Iv cooked the tea and put a load in the machine now Im resting.

    Hugs everyone.
