Not feeling great today so taking it easy, so far I've walked the dog, cleaned the bathroom, washed the towels and bath mat and had a general tidy up in the living room.
Ex texted me earlier to say he was passing on the way to Tesco if I wanted to hop in so I did and picked a few things up which saved me a walk to the small Tesco or Nevins and meant I could get milk which I cant carry back from anywhere else.
I've sorted out some washing upstairs into piles but there's nowhere to put them so they've all gone back in the basket, at least they are in some sort of order now though.

  • Woohooo - new boiler day today :j They're also fitting thermostatic radiator valves, a new thermostat and new control gubbins so I'm expecting the electricity will be turned off at some time - no point in planning to do the ironing today then :rotfl:

Guessing I'm going to be stuck in the house most of the day so I think I'll use it to sort through the paperwork mountains that cover every flat surface in the house  I'll probably find most of it can go straight into the recycling bin/shredder because it's been there so long. I also have a very bad magazine habit (especially food magazines, which I put to one side so I can tear out the recipes I fancy before I pass them on, like that ever happens...) so I'm going to put them all straight into the car to drop of with an elderly friend next time I pass.

Off to get DD and DS up and out for school and clear the work tops near the boiler (no point cleaning them before the jobs done though :D ).

Have a good day everyone x

In the middle of my spring clean here. bought some cream cleaner last night and other than having to do a fair bit of rinsing it's brilliant. It's even making my horrible kitchen seem less grim.

I need to stick some ornaments into the box in the garage, do a bit of a tidy round, clean the sink, do the floors and put some laundry away.

Have a good day everyone, hope you're all feeling ok.

Good luck with the new boiler MummyBobble, my worst nightmare is having people in the house.

Alec is this spring cleaning late for this year or early for next?

I've done nothing so far, was up at 3 then fell asleep from 8 till 10 so not got going yet. Having a cup of tea before I start though.
It's been raining all night but seems to have stopped now so I will ahve to take the dog out, she refuses to go if it's raining.

  • Hi all.
    Snookey..."organise"??? (Not a familiar concept Chez-Emm.)

Mummybobble - Hope boiler installation etc. goes smoothly. I have a bad habit of keeping supermarket mags with recipes, must do a cull soon too.

Alec E - My def. of spring clean is when sunshine shows up the dust, gungy windows, etc. No fear of that this week.

Dibuzz, my old Daftie-dog hates getting her feet wet outside too. Funny, she doesn`t have the same dislike of wet floors indoors , always tries to walk where I`ve just mopped! Perhaps it`s the novelty as it doesn`t happen too often!

I have to nip out to farmshop today as I won`t get another chance till next week. Not planning much except the very basics and an early night as I`m on a long-day tomorrow. Hope things are a bit less manic there, but not holding my breath on that one.

OH was mixing himself up some instant whip dessert last night and succeeded in launching it across the whole kitchen. So now it doesn't matter that I didn't mop the floor at the weekend because he had to do it last night anyway. Serves him right for picking a flavour that I don't like :rotfl:

What a stroke of luck that someone else dropped the instant whip.

I would not be spring cleaning were it not for the house guest!

My dog is so soft it's unreal. She's a rescue dog so we don't know whats hapened to her in the past and for the first year she didn't bark at all and wouldn't let us touch her paws or cuddle her. She's made up for it since and loves to cuddle up to people.
She's terrified of the rain, my daughter had to pick her up and run home with her once as she just panics and tries to get away from it. She ends up running almost lay down if we get caught in it and drags me home. As soon as we get near the house I drop the lead and she bolts home to either dive under one of the cars or get on the step as near to the wall as she can.
