Ikwym YL, I spent all day yesterday thinking it was Thursday, this week has felt very long and feet draggy.

I got into the garden for a bit yesterday and pulled out a fair few weeds. Couldn't get really stuck in though as I had to keep nipping inside to check Big Grey Bunny wasn't up to no good. Did some batch cooking, plus all the washing up and other stuff. Felt like I got a fair bit done. Might shut the buns in their pen this afternoon and make more headway in the garden.

    Have a good day.

Today it is me that is messy more than my home. Bought some nectarines last week of the "ripen at home" type. Still rock hard this morning but I've run out of other fruit so figured I'd eat it even if it wasn't ripe.... turns out it was probably the juiciest nectarine i've ever eaten despite having the texture of a cricket ball! I've been to wash my hands but feel like its still all round my mouth and down my arms - good job I haven't got any external meetings today! I think my shirt has escaped unscathed but I haven't been near a mirror just in case.

As for home, I'm just not seeing the mess right now. Too much of the old paid work to be done so the domestic stuff can build up around me. If OH doesn't like it, he can do something about it - i haven't got time. Might have to do something next week coz he's planning on replacing the fence down the back between us and grumpy neighbour but paid work should have calmed down by then.

    Iv put the washing in but nothing else so far. Things Im going to do are;

    Wash dishes,
    general clean of kitchen
take washing out of machine and dry/hang up
put bags out for friday collection
Rip up ( got lots of boxes from when we were moving. They were in the cellar and got damp so no good. Council wont take them unless ripped up. )
Help dd put books in under bed boxes.

I think thats enough for now.
  • Whoop whoop :j

Looks like my boiler grant has gone through and I'll be getting a new boiler, thermostatic radiator valves, new bits on the control system (all too technical for me), and a remote control thermostat (apparently I can take it to bed with me and turn the heating up or down from the comfort of my bed!!!).

Only drawback being that they will have to be able to get to all the radiators to drain the system down and fit the thermostatic valves

Feeling that perhaps I ought to make a start on clearing safe pathways to the radiators now and not the day before. Won't be for a few weeks so little and often might do the trick.

Not a bad end to the week  xx
  • Hi Messies!
YorkshireLass, I know what you mean about being surprised how tired you get. I was used to doing long shifts for ages, then I was off work for months with my op etc., and now I`m getting back into it, loving it, BUT Getting Very Tired - it`s sort of newish all over again to me after such a long break, I think that`s why. I`m hoping the feebleness will pass soon too. I did a long one yesterday, but I needed a long lie-in this morning!!

Alec E - well done on the gardening & indoorsing. I`m ignoring everything indoors except food prep & WM till DS has finished untrashing his pit of a room for the Gf`s arrival this evening!

Sonastin - what a nice way to be Messy! Have you tried the `do-nut` peaches & nectarines? They are much juicier than they look, a bit easier to eat (but I still get my front soaked, even with those!) Hope the new fence keeps your Mr Grumpy at bay!

I`ve been to farmshop - dirty carrots, squeaky fresh savoy cabbage, baby new potatoes, and runner beans from a local allotmenter`s surplus. Yum.

Hi all, just lost a post as I'd been logged out before I tried to post it.

    Welcome to the gang Ohbilmey!

Emm hope you take it easy and save your energy for the killer shift!

I survived the first week back quite well, the kids were really well behaved and it was so great to see them. Some of them have shot up over the summer.

I didn't get around to any decorating or major de-messying over the summer, but the living room is tidy and reasonably clean, as is the main bedroom. The boxroom needs a bit of tidying up so if I have any energy tomorrow, that might be my task for the day. Kitchen and bathroom are just about hygienic, but that's all that can be said :o

Hope everyone is enjoying a lovely weekend!

  • Hi Messies!
JPS, I`m glad to hear from you, was wondering how you`d feel after the first week, I`m so glad you sound better. `Major` stuff isn`t as vital as we sometimes think as long as we can cope with the `normal` stuff. I`ve learnt that too.

My long day was fine - I`m sure it was partly because ward sister told me I have to take as week annual leave (starting today) that is owed to me as `it`s a good time for the ward`!! I also think that my Secret Formula bottle is better than the usual coffees I drink (50% Co-op Red Rooster energy drink/50% pure orange juice!)
I did an early yesterday, came home and did 3 WM loads, shook & turned LR rugs, Henry`d LR, made a stonking lamb curry mostly from leftovers & some tired fruit and salady bits for side dishes. DS`s GF is here & was quite impressed!
This morning I`ve hung out the 3rd WM load, blitzed kitchen & put pots away, and am considering the car-boot.... I haven`t bothered going there for ages, but seeing as I`m up early which is SO nice when I haven`t got to be...
    Have a lovely Sunday all.x
